Watching this again 8 years later!!! Miss u gurl. U taught me how to style my natural hair!!!
I love reading the comments from non afro natural hair people. Thanks for liking our hair!
My 2b hair is seething with jealousy 😅 What's awesome though is that with a few product adjustments this technique actually still works with my hair too! 😍 Amazing how something like Bantu knots can have so many different yet beautiful results depending on the hair type ❤️
All hair is beautiful
First video to make me love Alyssa. She's come so far.
Does anyone else just enjoy watching hair tutorials even though you know you'll never succeed at it in your own life? xD

Generally I find it quite annoying that the exporters of Black Culture are White ppl that pick and choose what's worthy to be exported and Biracials who, yes, are black, but are token representatives. As a result everything that is black suddenly belongs to everyone and the originators are no longer needed. Its ridiculous.
I really love how your hair is naturally.
I have no idea why am I watching this. That's so not my hair texture, this tutorial isn't for me. It just looks so amazing.
This hairstyle can be achieved with any hair texture.
@@namienamie2167 that's actually incorrect but...
Tanzeel Somi no actually, it is correct.
I've always hated my straight hair. I know it's a lot of trouble, but curly hair is just so beautiful and you can do so much with it. If I tried to put those curls in my hair, I'd have to load it with hairspray and even then, as soon as I walk out of the house it falls out. :(
You're beautiful!
i have hair like the girl in the video, and let me tell you its work ;D but i love my curly hair. the only thing is that us girls with super curly hair cant do very much with it (intricate braids and such). if you are upset with your hair being straight, try learning some braids! they're so fun to do... i cant do them on myself though...
That's good advice and I have tried a few braids. Cute Girl's Hairstyles has some really good braiding videos.
i'm glad i could help! :D
yes! i love cute girls hair styles. i try to do some of the styles on my little sister (her hair isn't as curly as mine) but she doesn't like getting her hair done. :(
At the end when it all comes together, and especially with the shaved part of your hair, this hairstyle is absolutely fierce on you. You look amazing.
I remember when I first started wearing my natural curls & I wanted to try different styles, this was one of the very first videos I came across. Fast forwarding 3 years, it's amazing to see you're at a MILLION subscribers!!! You've grown so much! Thanks for inspiring me & so many others 😘💞
I just want to say you were the first person to ever teach me how to do my natural hair when I was 11 and it really meant a big deal to me 8 years later. I went looking for this video and I’ve finally found it but thank you for doing that for me bc Idk where I would’ve been today if it had not been for you lol
Okay can we all just take a moment to appreciate how GORGEOUS this woman is? Seriously girl you are so beautiful! Keep up the tutorials. I tried this on my cousin's hair (she's bi-racial and her hair is really frizzy) and her mom made me show her how to do it! It was a big help.
I remember last year I tried Bantu knots and they didn't come out right.. but then this year my Bantu knots have improved the more I did it.. I seperate them and treat them right and I'm going to start wearing them more often for the ninth grade ... But what I am saying is this has helped a lot with trying to achieve the Bantu knots I was looking for.. so Thank You😘😘
Hey I'm going to ninth grade too! I just tried this method yesterday but it didn't really work for me. I did it in 4 sections and I think I should have done more because my hair was absolutely not curly but more like wavy and they were soo frizzy and I don't know why >. < but just like you I'll try more and find the best way for me that way!
+Rukia Kuchiki Yahh all you have to do is keep practice... Experiment with deep conditioners, mooses, and see if that helps the bantu knots have a better curl pattern. Also try smaller sections to see if it helps too..
+Rukia Kuchiki make sure your hair is mosturized and be verrry careful when separating. also, use a pick to been your roots
The fact that her video now has 9.2 millions views on it. I remember when this video first came out! So amazing! Go Alyssa!
This video inspired me to go natural
Thats great! You'll be glad you did!
Make sure you learn about hair types! Be accepting of all of them just in case you get the one you were not expecting

HOW DO YOU HAVE SUCH GREAT NATURAL HAIR DF
MY HAIR IS SO THICK I CAN'T EVEN
Do you break combs with yours? I break combs with mine-even when it's untangled. That is part of the reason why I'm getting my hair boy short.
Eos Forge I've been growing my hair for ten years now, but because I have hair type 4c, it's like, bunched up, so you can expect the answer :P

ending result is so amazing i love your hair ahhh
OHMYGOSH. This looks so good :) Please don't take offense to this because it is a true well-intentioned compliment, but if I had've only seen the end product, I probably would've guessed it was a weave just because it looks so immaculate :) I love how unique and versatile black hair is. Great job, you rocked that
She is mixed race, not a black woman. You blind?
Hambaby My apologies, but blind or not, it's honestly impossible to tell a person's complete ethnicity simply by looking at them. I know many people who identify as black who are lighter than her and have hair similar to hers. In reality, the term "black" refers to an extremely broad and wide array of complexions and nationalities. So please forgive my word choice if it offended you, but given that I have no way of knowing her particular ethnicity, I purposely used this non-specific term because it seemed the most appropriate term to convey the point I was trying to get across.
***** also mixed race hair is basically "black".hair Because she doesn't have "white " people's hair. So basically you're right.
***** Ignore the idiot that's only talking shit because he wants her to be labeled as something other than black.
Hambaby Shut up!! Sometimes it's hard to tell whether or not a person is biracial because at the end of the day you can to Africa (Eritrea, Somalia, Even Nigeria) and find people that look just like her...
I Thought I Was Going To Pick Up More Tips About Hair In The Comment Section But All I See Is Race Race Race Contacts Sewins And More About Race Shut Up And Please Help Me Out Cause I'm Trying To Go Natural But I Can't Do Hair So I Need All The Help I Can Get.😘💚
Exactly y is y'all even argueing dang and the first comment started with that crap
😩 Stupidity Has No Shape Or Form They Cray😂
👍👏👏👏 yes I agree all I see is very annoying comments about how black pple are saying that white pple trying to be black. I mean honestly all I wanted to do is see her vids about how she gets her hair so beautifully done but when I wanted to comment on the vid I just seen annoying comments.....😂😝😎😊😁😁😁😔😔😔👍👏👏👏❄️❄️❄️💨👎
Thank you!
omg! that whole look is sooo pretty!!!!♥ ♥ ♥
Wow!! Beautiful hair! And that color is just gorgeous!
This video is still a go to & it’s 2019
Oh my gosh so cute! Sometimes I envy black hair because my hair is stick straight thin and super silky and won't even hold curl
don't worry...some of us go through the same thing lol! we have a different issue though, of 'reversion', which just means that humidity, or the elements in general cause our hair to 'revert' back to the natural curl...like hers at the beginning of the video.... le sigh.
hell, i wish my hair was silky! LOL
Bay Queenlove sorrynotsorry for giving a "dumb" compliment to a pretty lady
OMG THANK U THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH THROUGHOUT MY TRANSITION FROM RELAXED HAIR!!!❤️❤️
Girl you are gorgeous even without make-up and your hair is fabulous! And even though I have a different hair type, I'm so going to try this.
Me: thoroughly enjoying this video
My 2b hair: why are we here
I'm literally so in love with your curls! They are so kinky :3

Okay your hair is fucking gorgeous, I SOOO wish my natural hair was like that
So pretty with that hair color
2-3 years since I first watched this video and I still use it for my Bantu knot tutorial cause it's the only one that made my hair actually look cute and a curly mess 💕
I want to try this. This hair style looks beautiful--lovely lady! There's nothing better than thick, voluminous curls.

Oh my absolute gosh, I'm in love with your natural hair! Mine was similar as a kid but I completely lost my curls.
they are beautiful. trying it out right now taking them out in about 7 hours
+shawna0383 came out beautiful
+selina zuniga yas
I'm white and have extremely voluminous and curly hair. I could honestly say that this wouldn't work for me bc of my ethnicity. Race does affect your results. Even though we both have curly big hair, it behaves differently. Each type of hair comes with different textures and behaviors. If I did this it'd look great the first 15 minutes, then fall apart unless I put loads of hairspray. African American hair tends to stay in place more than caucasion/hispanic or whatever. Not saying this in a negative way at all, the girl in the vid looks AMAZING. It's just so annoying when people can't mention a difference in race or ethnicity without making it look "racist" or "ignorant."
Beautifully said. My suggestion is to try it again! 😄 if you didn't use a gel, that's probably why the curls fell so rapidly. If you did use a gel and they still fell, work in that hair spray! I'm sure the curls look just as great on you.
Well said
***** so true. I have terrible curly hair. The kind that doesn't want to cooperate at all. I also have different types of curl all over my head. I have some cork screw and some big curls and even so unruly curls along with 2 cow licks so I have it bad. LOL. But I love it on her
I hate the fact you have to say "not being racist" or "no offense". Nothing you're saying is offensive or racist just the truth and not in a rude way. You're simply stating a fact yet everyone has to be so butthurt.
I like you.
Your hair is beautiful. Thank you for the how to video. I love the style and can't wait to recreate it on myself.
These bantu knots are sooo banging!!! I'm about to do this to my hair right now
Finally! A person with the same type of hair as mine!!! I'm not alone lol.
we're not alone amiga
+Judith Alarcón I guess we all have the same texture
+danny phantom I squealed when I saw her hair texture. Like mine!
WOW !!! I want to learn and go natural for my hair
Go for it :)
I started with braids and a cut
I watched this 10 years ago when I wanted to finally start experimenting with my natural hair and I used this tutorial for my first day at highschool as a freshman and everyone LOVED it! I got so many compliments that day and still up until now I will never NOT use this tutorial everytime I do a bantu knot out it comes out perfect everytime!! 🤧🩷
So pretty! I’m just now seeing this & just learning to do more natural styles (sadly after 4 years natural). This video made me feel like I’ve watched you grow up ❤️
So pretty!!! Go head girl! Love the tip about the endsb got mine right in November and ruined them again!!
