  • Walking is a low-impact exercise accessible to just about everybody. It's safe, simple, and doesn't cost anything.George Halvorson, Chairman & CEO of Kaiser Permanente, explains the numerous health benefits of a regular walking regime: reduced risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. Physical activity need not be strenuous for an individual to reap significant health benefits; just 30 minutes a day (or two 15 minute sessions) of brisk walking will do the trick.

I had no idea that walking 30 minutes a day can add years to my life. This is my fourth day of walking and I'm really happy and watching this video really blessed me and gives me courage to keep walking. Thanks so much.

I walk about 14000 steps a day or about 40 miles a week. Everything I measure is perfect - body weight, blood pressure, rest heart rate, blood oxygen. And I have just got a certificate from fitbit saying that since Feb 2020 I have walked the length of Africa! I am 76.

I joined a group on FB 2 months ago. First month being April we had to walk 30 minutes a day. May we added 8 glasses of water a day. That was tough for me but now I do it. June we’re tossing around ideas. Walk and keep track of our miles/ km and see if we can walk across our country. That’s not a for certain goal at this time

thanks for the video I'm 56 years old and I just started walking 30 minutes a day a minimum there's a woman at work that I can depend on so we started walking together plus there's an indoor gym at my work if it rains or some thing so I'm really motivated to start doing this because even though I've cut out ice cream and a lot of fattening things I'm really not losing and I think the walking is really going to help so thanks for the video I'm trying to listen to people on RUclips and see what they think about walking 30 minutes today and there's a lot of positive results so thanks a lot

Thank you, this is encouraging...at work i will now be encouraged as i walk from patient to patient, for 5 hours before break time and then off to finish the other 3. Other nurses I work with have measured their walking, and it's up to 5 to 7 miles per shift, so this will be encouraging to them too..and anyone else who walks during their occupation.

This video has absolutely excellent information about the importance of having a walking regimen! I encourage you to watch and to start your own daily walking routine today! Even if you start off with 5 minutes a day and work up to 30 minutes per day--that's fine. Just do it!

I have a doubt,, blood pressure of over 135 plus is considered as high, when a person with normal blood pressure walks it goes up may be above 135 , and if a normal healthy person whose job involves walking then he will having high bp most of time, how can it be healthy then??

Dom Sta That's bullshit. As he stated, walking increases the rate of healing/recovery in the body thus accelerating gains.
