A PS5 is a videogame console. Shouldn't be compared to a PC, but to the pieces dedicated to gaming. A PS5 is still a good deal, but a PC with similar pricing on the components dedicated to game shouldn't be neglected, since on PC you can choose different shops, a more in-depth settings system, free online, mods or injectors (Reshade). Considering that most gamers also own a PC, even if it's not for gaming, spending around $800 on a PC with similar specs to a current gen console, is also a great deal.

The Decima game engine scales very good across a bunch of settings and hardware. I wish more games used this game engine. Graphics and performance can be very good!
Maybe but then they'd have to learn the engine. Many devs prefer to use their own in house engines. I don't think Decima is typically licensed out to other studios besides it being used for Death Stranding
In this game it isn't needed so much but I do agree that it would be nice that on a PS5 Pro, that all games that has a 30fps cap in high resolution mode, it would be nice that a PS5 Pro could run resolution mode at 60fps. I really hope this is Sony's goal.
I didn't see much of a difference between very high and high setting for shadows, terrain, and level of detail. For 8 GB cards going to high from very high in these settings helps the VRAM usage.
PS5 looks fantastic for what it is and priced at. But the PC looks sharper and more clean especially with the 60fps and above. But then again i doubt anyone would actually believe a ps5 could outperform a pc.

The differences are minimal. Amazing considering how much of a gap there was in the past. The only thing missing from modern games is full real time ray tracing.

Horizon is so incredible on ps5 that in order to outperform on pc, they should have re-map all the world with 8k texture, full ray tracing like cyberpunk. And if you look closely, hairs and models detail is better on ps5 (you notice only in photomode in full zoom but it's there)
This game scales so well that on PS5 Performance Mode is the way to play. The graphics difference is so minimal but in Performance Mode the bump to 60fps makes it much better.
You do know their still a huge library of PS1/2/3 that have not made it to PC yet? You're only talking about a handful of PS4/5, not like 95% of the Xbox library available on PC day one. The poor sales reflect that, nobody wants an Xbox anymore.

There isn't a single game from 2013 that looks like that. The pure hair from Tomb Raider 2013 looks far worse as the best example of realistic hair from that year. Also no it being a port doesn't make a difference as plenty of other ports from the PS5 have multiple visible differences in the advantage of the PC

@@Crashed131963 It's dynamic 1800p with checkerboard rendering, which in terms of how much pixels there are is around 1200p. So the PS5 Pro would probably not do native 4k60.

I think they did it on purpose, lowering PC quality compared to PS5 so people thinks PS5 better then PC.
PS5 has custom hardware that PCs still down't have, like decompression processor and custom SSD controller that unpack high quality assets on the fly and free the performance hit from CPU/GPU where on PC they take that performance hit

There isn't a single game from 2013 that looks like that. The pure hair from Tomb Raider 2013 looks far worse as the best example of realistic hair from that year. Also no it being a port doesn't make a difference as plenty of other ports from the PS5 have multiple visible differences in the advantage of the PC

Bro, a pc with rtx 3060ti is better than whole ps5 can ever to offer. You don’t need a system with 4080 to beat it. Horizon is very optimised for the weak hardware that ps5 have, is Sony game, simple. In other games ps5 is trash, very trash.

The Digital Foundry has already done the analysis. On PS5 everything is on ultra except for 2 parameters, they are high. Nothing else@@omnisemantic1
