    I can do the parkour roll perfectly on level or small heights, but how do you pop into the roll without collapsing your knees in towards the chest when you fall from above 1 story? Is it always ideal to jump further out to ensure there's forward momentum?

    Lately ive been watching some older videos and discovered Alexander Bayturin. Russian free runner. Guy literally dive rolls from the height you just leaped off for the tutorial. Go watch his video titled Don't do it. But anyway i have been wanting to try rolling off of surfaces and dropping. I used a very thin yoga pad today on top of a broken down van but only so the ridges on top dont dig into my back since it isnt totally flat. I somersaulted and dropped from there mid roll.

    Hey does anywone have some advice on how to roll on hard surfaces? My hipbone sticks out so much I cant do rolls hard stuff I have tried but I had it bruised for like two weeks🙏pls somewone

    • @anthonypolonkay2681
      @anthonypolonkay2681 3 года назад

      Ik this is really old. But I been at the parkour stuff for over 10 years now. And I don't think there is really a way to do rolls on concrete that won't hurt at least a little.
      There are so many tutorials that teach how to avoid hitting your hip bone, but no matter what I have tried I always hit it at least a tiny bit. And I do the diagonal role perfectly. It's just that If your lean. Theres nothing protecting that little hip protrusion.and I cant role any more diagonally. Because it would mess up the roll. I honestly think that most pros, and people on youtube just do their best to mitigate how hard you hot it. Rather than not hitting it at all.

    • @lethalassassin1754
      @lethalassassin1754 6 лет назад

      Soren X work on landing in a comfortable position/angle, if you end up more sideways or straight it wont matter so long as you can roll comfortably with good technique. But for a more sideways landing try turning your toes to the side you're rolling to and hitting the ground angled so you can drop into it. Use your arms to absorb some impact/compress with them and tuck your head into your opposite armpit or just look towards it as you roll you shouldn't clip it, going more sideways make that easier to manage rather than more straight on like ronnie does here. Go look up dominic di tomasso or daniel ilabaca and look at their landing technique you'll see what i mean.

    What!? man! ?I do parkour since a long time and I don't have my legs so straight, I mean obviously your good Ronnie Shalvis legs keep your momentum going with the balls of your feet and with the good form. BUT!I don't see THE moment where you just absorb the impact I mean your legs don't have to be so slightly bent in my point you have to crunch your legs with the impact and it's just your momentum that keeps you going forward, I mean; Damn! it's so quick, Why don't you do it more relaxed man😀?
    #From Belgium

    • @Godclash
      @Godclash 6 лет назад +1

      I do it the same way you describe. All the parkour tutorials say DO NOT BEND KNEES past 90 degrees because your knees will take the full impact. But on the other hand, it feels more natural for me to "crunch" my legs inwards as I curl into a forward roll. I've been trying to get quicker like the way Ronnie does it but I end up jamming my feet sometimes.
