Two skilled operators tasked with direct orders from their own chain of command, attached to a rescue mission with a bunch of US PMCs and a local ally force. The fact you don’t see or hear from them nearly at all is very good writing… that’s exactly how delta are meant to operate.

The SEALs we hear about the most (but not exclusively) are the Tier 2 SEALs.... don't know what difference it makes, but I thought I'd put it out there!

I come from a well educated military family, as far as I know Delta was modelled off the SAS. In my opinion I love them all but my favourite are the SAS that's all three British, Australian and New Zealand, Delta, and the Germans. The Filipinos are very underestimated and train with the Australians and Americans Filipinos are very tough and loyal, and some of the best snipers. Taking nothing away from the Seals they are very well trained and first rate. And let's not forget the Spetnaz, the Russians who are pain junkies. I'm 61 just got my black belt in BJJ and I do MMA, we had a friend of mine who retired from the Australian army about four years ago he was British SAS transferred to the Australian army, when he rolled on the mat he would never tap ever I've seen him in some horrible positions won't tap 99% of the time he got out, tough man.

If you complete all training, pass physical and psychology testing, then pass interviewing and screening, you could end up getting in.

And the training scenes though out the film a lot of those in the background were also regiment guys too. The lead actor Lewis Collins passed selection for 23 SAS (TA) but wasn’t badged due to him being an actor and therefore could be a risk.
I heard a guy talk about how people get upset when an operator gets out and writes a book or does interviews and the guy said fuck them they don’t know what it’s like to get out there are no jobs for us they don’t even want us to be police when we get out anymore and he was basically don’t comment on something you know nothing about and it’s true guys that are still in don’t know how hard it is to be out with no prospects of anything

Well there are the SEAL platoons and then there is SEAL team 6. Very few SEALs make it to or are good enough for team 6. Team 6 and Delta are on par but with different skill sets and mission specialties.
