As the last phase of software testing, the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plays a significant role in the entire software testing process as it validates whether all the business requirements have been fulfilled or not before the actual product can be released into the production.
This test was done in a separate test environment called UAT Environment wherein End-users were able to verify if the functionality outlined in your user story or requirements documents exists.
Primarily, it is to ensure if the developed system can effectively be used to support the business’s day-to-day operations.
Ms. Karaleise had done a good job in explaining UAT.

01:27 📝 Explanation of UAT as a validation step before production to ensure the software solves the intended business problem.
02:49 🔍 Emphasis on UAT's role in preventing the release of problematic features that could harm the company's reputation.
03:59 🎯 Overview of the video's focus on the purpose of UAT, planning, managing the process, and steps for success.
07:20 👥 Discussion on who should participate in UAT, highlighting the importance of end users or user proxies.
09:42 🛠️ The role of the product team and QA engineers in UAT, and the importance of avoiding technical participants for unbiased testing.
11:05 🗝️ Identification of the three keys to successful UAT: the right people, a clear process, and established priorities.
12:43 📊 The necessity of understanding existing functionalities and new enhancements to write effective test cases.
14:06 ⚖️ The balance between ad hoc testing and guided testing to cover both expected and unexpected use cases.
16:22 🌐 Stress on the importance of a production-like environment for UAT to simulate real-world conditions.
17:16 ⏱️ Advice to conduct UAT only after QA is complete to avoid conflating UAT with QA efforts.
19:11 📈 Emphasizing the importance of the right environment setup and early invite distribution to ensure a focused and effective UAT.

22:13 🎯 Mention of the importance of dedicated testing time for UAT participants to ensure thorough and focused testing efforts.
22:55 📋 Keep test cases concise, ideally 10 steps per section, to avoid overwhelming testers.
23:23 ✅ Include expected results in test cases, but be open to any outcome to capture unexpected issues.
23:37 🧪 Conduct tests personally to ensure they meet objectives and don’t waste others' time.
23:50 📝 Use an issues log for testers to record bugs, with a template for consistency and clarity.
24:17 🚫 Limit bug reporting to designated individuals to avoid duplicates and maintain quality.
24:32 📊 Prioritize bugs with product managers to focus on the most critical issues for release.
25:29 🔍 Ensure bug descriptions are detailed, including screenshots and environment details for replication.
26:12 🐞 Categorize bugs effectively for better management and resolution.
26:54 📈 Only create bug tickets for high-priority issues to avoid cluttering the tracking system.
27:35 🔄 Communicate bugs early and retest after fixes to ensure a high level of confidence before release.
28:47 🌐 Virtual UAT can be effective, especially for documentation and communication.
29:29 👥 Select the right people for UAT to ensure a successful outcome.
30:12 📅 Conduct daily meetings to prioritize bugs and keep the UAT process on track.
31:10 📥 Templates for UAT test cases and bug tracking are available on the presenter's website.

Do you book a calendar invite for the adhoc testing so they are all in one place with the meeting on mute and stakeholders able to raise hands and ask questions or ask them to carry out the adhoc test independently

    • @karaleise
      @karaleise  Год назад

I like to schedule the meeting. I give a brief overview of the testing at the beginning ofthe meeting and then everyone goes on mute and test individually. This is preferred because 1) you ensure that they do the test 2) you are there to answer any questions 3)you log the bugs once and avoid duplicate bugs. Thanks for watching and hope this helps!
