Hi, im not sure of the specific version of your Almera, but as long the head unit (radio) has HDMI, then should be fine. 😊
Hi , I am using a forester 2016 with the same Kenwood model. The current hdmi port is already wit a cable as well. What is that for ?What happen if I remove the old hdmi Cable and plug in the new hdmi cable? Thank for sharing
Heyy, that cable connects to the mirror link device (wireless phone mirroring which, is very laggy). Its protected by a metal housing and screw which can be opened. Once opened, the hdmi cable can be removed. If u remove the old hdmi cable, your mirror link will not work anymore.

Hey, i dont think so. Does your radio / head unit have a hdmi input? The usb alone is to provide the stick power.
which usb did you use? USB TO HDMI OR HDMI TO USB?
Hey, you need both usb and hdmi. Usb is to power the dongle, hdmi is to run the display

Can you explain how you set it up, I understand it requires WiFi to set it up how did you get it connected to your WiFi which most be coming through phone which is connected to a 3 Rd party device? Cheers Richard
Yes I use my phone as a hotspot, thats good enough.
I have tried to get my xiaomi mi box to connect to my phone wifi but cannot not sure why I can get tablet and laptop to connect 🙃
@@richardrinn8104 are u trying to chromecast from your tablet and laptop? U have to be connected to the mobile hotspot wifi.
@@AndrianTam I have phone set with WiFi turned off and mobile hotspot turned on it does not seam to find xiaomi mi yet it finds laptop and tablet of which I am not using is there anyway to prompt xiaomi to look for hotspot using remote nothing is showing on car screen to let me go into settings cheers Richard 👍
@@richardrinn8104 hmm so yes your mobile hotspot should be on, and its the other way round. Your mi tv has to connect to your mobile hotspot. In settings, go to wifi and let it search for your mobile phone in the wifi list. Before setting it in your car, are u able to connect it to a tv at home?
what if there's only usb port on the radio and no HDMI port?
Unfortunately it wont work. U need the hdmi for video and sound.

Hey, my subaru forester didnt have carplay. Just a basic head unit with screen and hdmi input. So as long as yours has a hdmi input, it should work.

Hi bro, the mi stick needs both hdmi and usb. The hdmi is the AV feed, while the usb is the power. Also, i dont think the hdmi to usb works, tho i never tried.

Does it support mirroring waze ?
Unfortunately no. I forced install waze with apk but, theres no gps so it cant guide you.
Its support mirroring anything on your smartphone screen to the display via google home app except for some streaming service. I tried with my local streaming service and its just blank screen with only sound.
Never tried waze before, but i tried open maps and it works on my tv. Oh and when you want to mirroring something, it need to connect on the same wifi, so to use mirroring inside the car you need a second device as a wifi tether.

Hi bro I have a Toyota Hilux which has 8 inch touchscreen monitor and has an available integrated HDMI port ready to use in the dashboard, do I still need to pull out and do some tweaks in my head unit in order to work the Mi TV Stick?

hey bro, if u have an exposed hdmi port, u dont have to open up anything. u can just plug in the stick into the hdmi, and have a usb power ready to plug a micro usb to power the stick.
unfortunately its not touch capable. hdmi limitation i believe.

Unfortunately no, theres no gps hardware in the mi stick itself.

Ah ok, this one is a safety feature built in the car. Need to cut the wire that connect to car speed. There is a bypass wire as well so no cutting done. But all this i did at a radio shop.

Hi, i connected using a wifi obd device, and just connect to its wifi (means no internet). The obd app should be installed first before connecting the obd. The challenge here is that the remote doesnt work well with the apps not made for android tv so, u might not be able to click on anything 😔

Yesterday I thought , If I using mi TV stick on car USB with cable of USB to hdmı what happened ? Today I saw your video. Same idea. İf we are using USB to hdmı cable what happened bro do you know or using this cable on supported Android auto system car ? Any idea bro.
Hey, i dont think usb to hdmi will work. The usb is meant for power, and the tv stick has its own hdmi socket. Usb to hdmi will probably not work. Android auto will be a different thing. There is no android auto on the mi tv stick. If you have an android head unit with android auto, as long it has hdmi then it should work.

Hey, unfortunately no, it still depends on hdmi. The usb is just to power the mi stick.
However I updated mine with a Google and got the touch screen to work

I switched mine to the Google brand name but I bought a better power supply cuz now I'm running an aftermarket system stereo

@@AndrianTam yeah there's a few things I'm testing it's better just to put a touch screen in your car and then get a phone with USB type c video out then you're set. But there's pros and cons about everything but it is very smart that you use and streamer because some of the cheaper Android tablets the real real cheap ones you don't get full support of video quality

Hmm im not sure if its compatible with a headrest monitor. Most likely not because the headrest monitor just feeds output from the main head unit. This tv stick is a hdmi input. If your hdmi input displays on all the headrest monitors, then yes it should work

@@flipdamadapakincoin no probs. So I checked your link, it accepts av in-out which is dependent on your head unit (main radio). So i believe as long as your head unit supports hdmi and it outputs to AV, then yes it should work on the 2 screens as well. But i cant guarantee that, really depends on your head unit functionalities. Mainly, make sure that the head unit AV out displays from the HDMI source.
@@AndrianTam actually its not connected to my head unit (front radio) i just wanted to connect both screen to each other.. i tried chromecast with hdmi input and its working but the second screen is not showing any video or signal and how do i know which is my monitor A and which is monitor B when the RCA cables (red,white,yellow) are connected to each other.. is there any solution to my problem?
@@flipdamadapakincoin hmm I think there’s no monitor A or B, theyre both slaves which has their own individual input, or is fed from a head unit via RCA. If your chromecast can work on one of them, means u have input into one monitor correctly. If the second monitor has nothing, u may need a RCA or HDMI splitter, to make 2 rca input into ur monitor. I hope it makes sense, as i do not know ur setup nor the full specs of the screens.
