yeah this one band member told me that southern gives their trumpets the lead in all there songs which is ok for some songs but i would like to hear from the woodwinds also for a more balanced sound.
When you are in band starting in the youngest you can then you learn to play the notes longer and how to not use as much breath and the long higher notes aren’t played as long as the others
Theodie Brown from what i learned as a musician , stagger breathing is when you and your section hold a note together but breath at different points in the measure. You come back in low and crescendo back up to original volume after you have taken your breath to make the illusion as if the note was held the entire time, with no breaks
The thing that I love the most is the good quality of bass drum. It's a small detail but its just good, especially the beginning. I can literally feel them hit and that just heightens this song.
Southern University is very talented❤️❤️ they pour their heart and soul into playing and it sounds so amazing !!! Best marching band ever!!!!! Hands down for sure !!!!!
