I dont normally watch these too much, but that wildflowers song got me to stick around. Never heard it before. Then I was just mesmerized by the horse. She seems like a wonderful working companion. Kind of reminded me of a mare I used to work with. Met her at 6 months old. Unwanted by her original owners, handled and, green. I sat in a round pen with her and some brushes the day my friend brought her to her farm. Two days of just chilling out in that pen, talking to her. Moving around, watering, and feeding. She finally approached me later the second evening and started to itch her face on my arm. My friend did her horsemanship training, I did the companionship training. Did that for two years, and I had to leave for a few years to pursue a job op. Didnt work out, when I came back that goofy mare met met me at the gate happily and we stayed best friends since her passing at 21 yrs old. I was so reminisce while watching this mare work with her rider. She was calm an collected, caring for not anything outside of her focus. Then I saw him riding with just that neck strap, sorry I forget what that is called. Reminded me how me an my buddy were able to ride and turn with just leg pressure. Then how still she was for the calf rope, the gate. Made me wonder how this horse worked on the ground too. My mare was touchless. All voice and hand signal. It was odd for others to see it I guess, and I got disqualified from quite a few 4h shows because of it. But I didnt care, she didnt need a rope to work with me and we didnt use them. I guided and she followed. It shows the right training. This mare had some good trainers. An she was quite a looker to boot.
