Hi Jesse! I’m Milan from Los Angeles. My son is moving to St. Paul in 90 days, he went there to visit and now all of a sudden... he’s moving!😢 Tbh I’m not taking this well...and that’s why I want to thank you so much for putting out these fun and informative videos. Your videos have eased my mind really helped me get an idea of what life is like out there. Your content is genuine, intelligent and funny AF. I can only hope my baby is happy and meeting awesome people like you in St. Paul. Thanks again!💗
Hey man I just visited Minneapolis for my birthday in June with my wife and just fell absolutely in love. We’re coming again in October and have all but decided that Minnesota is our destiny. Probably too soon to start talking about real estate yet but your videos get me even more excited and when it is the time I hope I can still reach you.
I'm Washington State born and raised and really have never left. My mom (and alot of my family) is from the East. I say ope, pop.. Made "hot dish" for dinner tonight and pretty much related to every single thing you mentioned. It's blowing my mind a bit. 😄
Nerd Alert!! :) The "Street vs Avenue" issue is completely opposite in Northeast Minneapolis (the area northeast of the Mississippi River). There, streets run North-South and Avenues run East-West. The reason is because Northeast was originally a separate city called St. Anthony. It eventually merged with Minneapolis in the 19th Century but still retained the traditional naming convention. Also, in this part of the city, Streets (North-South) were named for the Presidents. So, from west to east, you have streets named Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, etc. All the way to Kennedy. Growing up there, It was a super-easy cheat in elementary school to learn the succession of Presidents because all you had to do was remember the streets that separated you from your friends. :)
Dude, I totally wish this video had been around before I moved to the Twin Cities for grad school (without knowing anyone there) back in 2006. Everyone laughed at me when I busted out my ankle length down parka when it snowed the first time in October. But how I grew to love the place. I miss living there terribly.
As a Minnesota guy. Sunmers are insanely nice here! However sometime in mid October a cold front comes threw, temperature drops to 15 degrees and windy. And you go, shit forgot about winter!😂🤣😂
Never said I was smart. In my defense I smoke a lot of weeds😁. But I'm also a great driver in the snow. I drove in some monster blizzards. In deep snow, over 8-9 inches on the road, tho it depends on the vehicle. So in deep snow don't stop! If you stop your likely stuck. If you have a snow drift in your way, hit it as fast as you can. Hopefully the snow drift isn't a buried car😂😂😂😂
First I'd love to begin first by sending you and you're amazingly beautiful family Jesse and to all others whom see this I and my family wish you a very merry Christmas and happy new years from the Samuel Sebastian family. I love you're real estate touristy information and this series and all of the sights within the video coverage . Keep up the great work and let's go SKALS Vikings!!!!!! Much love from someone as myself whom moved here from New York State and I went to high school in Cincinnati and spent years in Florida and just moved to Northern Minnesota . I am looking forward to exploring this Great state I first came to Duluth a couple months ago and been to Grand Forks and now I'm In St Cloud.
I got a kick out of your video. You actually could rename this one Wisconsin instead of Minnesota and still be spot on! I love the part about the Minnesota goodbye….Wisconsin people do exactly the same thing! (I’m a Wisconsin native with a daughter in Minnesota). I personally just thought it was a family thing with us, thank you for clarifying that many of us have the same issue. Keep up the good work!
We also say The cabin, The lake, The shore, as in up the shore for a trip to Lake Superior/Duluth. The old Folx say DULOOT. We sound like there's only one lake or one cabin. But there's a bunch.
I am hoping to move to Minnesota soon and I have been watching your videos and they are very helpful, thank you. I also really like how you've decorated your home. 2 questions, where do you buy your plants from, and is that a standing lamp to help that plant grow, where did you buy it? LOL
Hey! Saw your video. Thanks for the tips! Do you think I’d be fine without a car if I move there from Feb-April? Since im there for a short period, I wanted to see if I can do without my car.
We say ope and beyg in Montana too! 😂 I get made fun of all the time whenever I visit other states. I also switched to saying soda over pop. It's much more universal. As for cold weather, we have LONG winters too. Fortunately, it's not humid, so it's not AS bad as the Midwest, but we definitely get those Arctic winds and it's AWFUL!
Hahaha that’s amazing. You’d be at home here 😂 And, I love Montana too! The winters are indeed brutal though! And it’s never quite as warm as it gets here which I suppose is either good or bad, depending on the person!
My struggle is my Mother is from MN and I was born there but grew up in NJ Italian Dad, so I’ve experienced both cultures throughout my life. It could be neither one is ideal for me. But when I hear you pronounce Bag it sounds like beg..and all the other pronunciations even Pop for soda I’d rather just avoid hearing all that! I don’t love Jersey but I just can’t stand the Scandinavian ways and accent truthfully that is prevalent throughout MN!
@To The Twin Cities I have visited 2 times before (I was alot younger) but am a huge vikings, and twins supporter. I can't wait. Hopefully, can get some work lined up
It’s definitely pretty car dependent unless you really plan accordingly for where you live/work. Plenty of people pull off living here without a car, but I certainly am not one of them!
Minneapolis has a very robust and diverse music scene! From house shows to clubs to theaters-hip hop, hardcore, indie, edm, etc. it’s a very vibrant and music oriented city!
Jesse if you need help knowing Saint Paul I can help i know saint paul very very well. . My hubby is from the west side. And I lived down their for 3yrs.
Riding Metro Transit alot i learned where everything is and I have a Photographic Memory. The best way to get to know Saint paul id say take University all the way down to Robert Street and then just let your GPS do rest its hard to explain when I have such a Huge Photographic memory. One key of advise always remem the Street your on. Or if your on a Back road in the cities remember it and how it'll get you back to where u started. I would have to show you myself cause its easier lol.
I grew up in St Paul and worked for the Postal Service. Street numbers in St Paul don't end at the end of the block ... for instance, the "300s" could go on for four blocks! But I get lost when I cross the river. At least in St Paul, there is only one 3rd Street. In Mpls, they have 33rd Av N, 33rd Av NE, 33rd Av S, 33rd Av SE, and 33rd Pl N.

This is the nicest comment! Thank you so much and I'm seriously glad my videos were helpful for you! It's a great place to live!
This city sucks
Well if he can handle the winter, he will love it. Hell you might want to move here too

Absolutely reach out when you’re ready! We’ll be here for ya!!

Hahah! Woah! Did your lineage come through MN at some point?

🙌🏼🙌🏼 sorry I’m 14 years late!!! Haha!

Thank you so much. I'm watching from California. I am thinking of moving there. I appreciate you sharing all the insights of MN. Take care...
Omg, the Snowstorm of 1991, I remember my mom telling me about it since she was in college when that happened
I remember it was like “oh nevermind you can’t wear a costume, because we needed coats and snow pants but we still went trick or treating!
I wonder if that one moved East over Ontario, Canada...we had a duzy back then by Toronto/Oakville area of Ontario
These videos are so helpful- thank you!!
I am so happy to hear that!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 if I ever don’t cover a question you have, feel free to reach out to me!
It’s funny bc I’m moving to St. Paul in less than a month and I’m so glad you talked about ope I didn’t wanna sound silly when I said it 😂😂
Oh you’ll fit right in! Hahah
I only count December, January, and February as winter 🤷♂️ If its in the 40s, that ain’t winter 😂
I’m right there with you, honestly. Ask my team or literally any of my clients - I never wear a jacket!! Hahah

Right on! Thank you so much!
Moving there in May!
Congrats!!
The BAYG struggle is real! I moved out of state temporarily and everyone was obsessed with bayg.
Hahaha once you hear it you can’t in-hear it!

A bunch? I've heard it's around 15k

People love Prince everywhere, but I can only imagine how much more intensely they love him in Minnesota.
I miss home just watching these.
Well I hope we can provide some enjoyment!!
I'm planning my escape from Miami. I was gonna go to Chicago, cause I was born there, but maybe Minneapolis!
What?! No Park and Portland, up and down, one ways and all neighborhood-y. I use those during rush hour, which in itself is like 8 minutes ......
Hey! Saw your video. Thanks for the tips! Do you think I’d be fine without a car if I move there from Feb-April? Since im there for a short period, I wanted to see if I can do without my car.
I’m from indiana and I say “ope” at least 30 times a day
Hahah! Glad we’re not the only ones!
We say ope and beyg in Montana too! 😂 I get made fun of all the time whenever I visit other states. I also switched to saying soda over pop. It's much more universal.

I am an immigrant from a tropical country and 40 is not winter, it's jogging time and coffee in the early morning
Yeah 40 degrees is a piece of cake once you’ve lived here a whole winter!
And U Betcha
Cool video 😊😊. Wat of jobs
Californians don't call highways "the _____"
Southern californians do. We're not the same lol.
Hahah fair enough!
If you go to Texas and ask for a pop they'll give a popsicle XD
instead of saying No, I say nope, is that bad in MN?
Not at all! I say nope all the time!
Hi. Do you know how many months of inventory there is currently in the twin cities?
Last I saw it was just under 1 month of inventory!
I’m moving there on the 10th June from england
Awesome!! Hope you love it here!
@To The Twin Cities I have visited 2 times before (I was alot younger) but am a huge vikings, and twins supporter. I can't wait. Hopefully, can get some work lined up
So cool!! Excited for you! I’m actually on a plane to Dublin as I type this, and I’ll be taking a ferry to and road tripping in western England!
@To The Twin Cities beautifull part of the country the west hope u enjoy it bud
Thank you!!
I hate driving but i feel like I'd need a car here lol
It’s definitely pretty car dependent unless you really plan accordingly for where you live/work. Plenty of people pull off living here without a car, but I certainly am not one of them!
How is the music scene here? Looking to move there for law school this summer, and my bf is a bass player.
I guess that I should specify, how is the music scene for gigging?
Minneapolis has a very robust and diverse music scene! From house shows to clubs to theaters-hip hop, hardcore, indie, edm, etc. it’s a very vibrant and music oriented city!
@@maggiekovach1971 not the city for that type of music
In Texas we say Coke
Fer Shure Ope
Jesse if you need help knowing Saint Paul I can help i know saint paul very very well. . My hubby is from the west side. And I lived down their for 3yrs.
Amazing! Do you know a trick to how the roads are organized?!
Riding Metro Transit alot i learned where everything is and I have a Photographic Memory. The best way to get to know Saint paul id say take University all the way down to Robert Street and then just let your GPS do rest its hard to explain when I have such a Huge Photographic memory.

This is probably the thing that messed me up the most! Thinking I could go to an intersection and find the address that would make sense 🤦🏻♂️
