I heard you mention that JACK had not Purchased a license here in West Virginia once a person reaches the age of 65 they no longer have to buy a license. The only thing we have to buy are the extra bucks stamp and extra DOE stamps. Everything else is provided state parks national force is all included the trout and bear stand. @@JakeGrubb-u7k We are hunting in the western part of Virginia, not West Virginia. But Jack is a resident of Tennessee and non resident Virginia licenses are not cheap. He knew he wasn’t going to do much hunting so he just didn’t buy the license. Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

I was just stating what West Virginia does for people 65 years old and older that’s all it was and I know out of state license are expensive because I hunt two other states my granddad used to go to the mountains with us, and he got to the point to where he couldn’t manage going up and down the hills, but he still bought his license and nine times out of 10 he would shoot his deer from camp. that looks like a lot of fun. on the rare occasion i get a little time off from work i usually go where there is no people. i dont really have anybody that goes with me but theres nothing more peacefull than being in the woods by yourself when its dead quiet. jacks not the same buddy you hunted with some last year. the one that had the little shooting house that was on wheels.

Im fairly new to muzzleloader hunting. I shoot a 50cal with 177gr round ball and 80gr powder. How far would that combination be effective to? Is 75 yards ethical?
@@ruralprepper860 The ethical distance is the distance at which one can confidently place all of his shots in the kill zone. For me 75 yards certainly meets that requirement. Your load mirrors mine.
One thing Jack needs to learn and that is driving in the second lane is not what you're supposed to be doing Jack That's a passing lane and the third lane is a passing lane the right lane is the travel lane I hope you start driving correctly Jack

I used to Guide and was a self-made something or other. My Mentor and best friend said there would never be anyone like me again. He said I was special. Only took him 7 years to learn me stuff. It' would take me a few weeks to get you trained. Because everything you are doing is wrong. It would be a miracle of major sorts if you saw something. Who taught you to hunt?? They rushed you through, that's evident. You realize for two-square mile area critters know you guys are there. And that fellar slamming both truck doors. Kind of him. When my dad fell off a roof he was working on, things got tight at our house. I wasn't paying too much attention to Game laws. Or fishing laws. I was helping T-ST. Clair with firewood and fixing and sanding antique furniture. $25 was better than nothing for 4 hours work. plus, I got lunch. And mom couldn't get it fast enough. Your family would have starved. Craig Co is full of deer too. I live in Bedford County, we've held the record for most deer and turkeys like 5 years running. I ain't much on turkey. I shoot em ,but give them away. There isn't a recipe made that works on them. They are no different than a chicken. Except chickens don't eat roadkill and dead animals. If they can catch a mouse or frog or whatever it's on the menu. Give me a butterball any ole day. I'm also a cook.

I know a lot of people just buy a rifle and walk out and call that hunting. As soon as I saw you wearing your orange vest I knew. Va. state law does not require you wear it. Also slamming car doors and wearing your favorite hat and clothes and not getting dressed after you got out of your vehicle were just a few clues. You haven't researched it as much as flintlocks. I study anything I'm interested in. Paid a fishing guide to teach me. Then hired a bass pro to spend the day with me. Learned a ton of stuff. People wonder how I catch so many fish, while they go home empty handed. Meet people like you on a daily basis. I retired at 48, farm, house, everything paid for. Got a Subaru 24 and Subaru 23 And got plenty in the bank. I'm 65 now in a few months. I don't talk it, I walk it. Like I said, I meet people like you every day of my life. Peace.

As Thomas Jefferson once said , those who are willing to exchange freedom for security are destined to soon have neither. Secondly, don’t they know that one out of every five hunters can’t even see that color!!! Fully 20% of the male population have the red-green deficiency that prevents us from seeing blaze orange!! I am one of those so I know for a fact that is one of the hardest colors to see. Our government has folks walking around thinking they are safe when the truth is just the opposite. Even Google says blaze orange saves lives when one in five can’t see it. Think about that. It will give you a warm feeling all over knowing so many of us are out there that cannot see you in your orange. If you are content letting government tell you what color of clothing you have to wear to keep you “safe”, then insist that a color be mandated that virtually everyone can see, and put that dangerous blaze orange law where it belongs, in the trash. About 10 States have enough gumption to not have that dangerous law, including California for Pete’s sake. But , being as how I conform to even laws I don’t agree with, I am fully compliant with the laws of my State. But I keep trying to get that blaze orange crap relegated to the annals of history to where it belongs. So, yes I use the damed stuff. But I remain conscious of the fact that the woods are full of hunters,just like me, that can’t see blaze orange. I long for the good old days when no one had even heard of blaze orange. How on earth did we ever survive???? And back then no one had heard of social media police either. Thank you for commenting. You touched on my number one pet peeve, as perhaps you have noticed. Have you also noticed that so many road workers as well as others don’t wear blaze orange these days? Many have wised up and use something like fluorescent yellow or chartreuse. Something that more of us can see.
I'm going to try and go out in the morning here in NorthEast Missouri I have a Hawkens and a wolf inline and a Remington 870 12 ga deer 30 me 0 lol don't know what I'm doing wrong never had any one to help me or teach me I'm 67 with a blockage in my right leg and my left leg has blood clots sure would love to get a white tail before the Good Lord calls my name also just Subcribed to your channel

My experience is that the deer don't move as much on windy days. Everything moving with the wind impacts their senses.

I can shoot 75 yards well.....I was curious about the effectiveness of the round ball at that distance .
@ According to history, they were considered deadly at over 300 yards. I have used them to around 150 yards. They kill stone cold dead.
