On this channel we show it as it really is, warts and all, as it actually happens, nothing added, nothing removed. Join me in my adventures. You might get a kick out of it. You are totally right
One if the last years my dad had back surgery planed for the day in the big city 2 hours away and looked out his back window and spotted a big buck in his back yard eating my moms flowers and he went on the back porch and shot that buck and yelled for my mom to call the doctor and tell them we are running late😳😱🤣 Hunting is life🙌
I have to take oxi and 5 different other meds just so I can get out of bed after a drunk driver hit me at 60+ head on, so I know the feeling😱 but after 6 cups of coffee to help keep me awake and wash all the meds down I hunting for the morning hunt then down for 4 hours and more meds then the evening hunt! Hang in there and focus on the hunt and the pain isn’t so bad😳 Not true but my doctor is the best and supplies me with just enough meds to live hunting dreams🙌 Best doctor in the world 👏👊❤️

I know that feeling about a bad back and neck😱 had a drunk driver hit me head on at 60+ mph and have my neck wrapped in titanium front and rear with 20 screws into my spine. 7 1/2 hours later and feeling like new😱 Just kidding on oxi and nerve pills and muscle pills and heart pills and I still need my lower back surgery done but not me, with the chance of not being able to walk I will deal with the pain so I can still go hunting. I get up at 2-3 am to get up and feed the cats and take all my meds so early morning for me and then go rest and more meds then go out in the evening hunts!
My two closest friends live and hunt in North Carolina. Most of their deer hunting is done about two hours from where The Lovely Bride and I live in our beloved home state of South Carolina. The deer in the area of N.C. where my friends hunt apparently will eat ANYTHING that grows naturally OR is planted, and harvested I must add, by farmers in that area. In my neck of the woods, here in S.C., clover seems to be the preferred thing for deer though corn will get their attention too! As for planting corn, the deer don't seem to care and deer feeders and even just piles of "deer corn" seems to work for both the deer and deer hunters alike. Growing up on a small family farm I never saw deer in our corn fields, but I can't swear they never paid them a visit as I had to eat, sleep, go to school, and do my chores and game cameras were not a thing back then. As for me? Well, I'm old, wore out, tired, and retired nowadays and I'm more likely to be found deer hunting from a ground stand in an area that suits me best and looks to me, at least, like a place deer might like at least as much as I do. Take care, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and God Bless you and yours!
Merry Christmas and God Bless to you and Dian.
Merry Christmas Mr. Dennis! You make me want to break out my Lyman Great Plains rifle for late muzzleloader season. Please tell me about that jacket you are wearing it’s interesting.
some people would swear off oxygen if it was claimed to be useful. its just their nature. I might try the rye/wheat/clover procedure.
I think you’re wrong on the nipping off ladino clover and it quits growing. The problem we have with ladino is it goes dormant in the hot dry summers that we have but red clover doesn’t last as long but it does better in the heat for us which is better for the cattle. What I have done for deer that doesn’t cost much is to broadcast some bin run wheat or rye on the pastures right before a good rain in the fall and the deer love that if we don’t have a good acorn year. On a good acorn year you won’t see a deer in a field very much until after dark. From watching your videos I think you have a much better healthy deer population than we have. Seems like we get EHD every year since we have been in a drought the last 3 or 4 years.
@@charleywalker2982 Man I surely hear you on the wheat and rye. They really like the rye. A Virginia State biologist is the one who told me that the deer kill the ladino clover. I have only planted it once, but lots of it. And just as he said it came right up, the deer nipped it off and it was gone forever. He said the same holds true for Winter Rye. I planted it and just like the ladino it came right up, was promptly eaten and was never seen again. I have not planted either of them again so my experience with both of them is limited. I have red and white clover. Predominantly white. It is prolific and the deer love it. Thank you for your thoughtful comments.
Merry Christmas all!
No goof ass here. Thank you, Dennis!
LoL 😂 PERFECT 👍
Do we have to listen to you rant about blaze orange for the whole video? NOPE.
I hunt a very similar situation here in Alabama wild vetch and clover we just fertilize and lime it helps tremendously. I have over seeded with more clover and cereal rye.
@@JeffBush-sw8yk My situation exactly. As long as it is a working farm that is the best I can do. And with the cost of fertilizer these days I cut back on it. Perhaps a silly question Jeff, but do you have hogs in your area?
On that particular place we do have hogs. They have been gone for several years showed back last spring.
Unfortunately, you're the "Goof" and he is absolutely correct. Corn is like Crack Cocaine to deer. Nothing else stands a chance against it. Clover is fine but doesn't hold a candle to corn. I can prove it to you. Go to tractor supply and buy a 50 lb bag of whole corn. Every other day put a 12 0z. cup out. In a month the deer will be waiting on you to dump it. Do your clover right next to the spot. See where the deer go first clover or corn . You'll lose. And I know what I'm talking about. It's like salt. Everyone and their brother buys salt blocks at tractor supply. Deer will go to it, but not anything like another type salt. Nothing like the other. Not even close. There are so many experts in the field, and 90% of them are just like you. Don't have a clue what they are talking about, but think they are an expert in the field. I saw you deer hunting. Expert you are ,lol. Just to prove I know what I'm talking about go to my You Tube site. It's a small site. But it has deer and bear and even a Bigfoot on it. Try luring a Bigfoot in to your cabin. Then you'll be my Equal. I know what I am, and can do. I don't talk it, I walk it. thebigfellar is it. Then tell me I'm a ""Goof"". I can prove that's a real Bigfoot too, scientifically.
Planting corn in a cow pasture...what a great idea. Sorta like installing a screen door on a submarine.
@@HWHolmgren I have to say I love that analogy !!!!! Still laughing 😂 over that one.
Plant whatever you like, they eat anything they can. little grain, little clover, maybe rhubarb and strawberry's and if they don't get to it make a nice pie. Merry Christmas and God bless.
That fella reminds me of something a friend of mine used to say: There ain't no use in being ignorant unless you show it now and then. Merry Christmas up there in VA from down here in TN.
Merry Christmas Dennis. Whomever the commenter was obviously has neither class nor decency. What's more, it's apparent that the commenter is jealous of your farm and your ability to tell an anecdote. Maybe that guy can somehow find a way to be merry this Christmas too.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you and your family sir !
Merry Christmas to you and Dian! You don’t have to tag all those squirrels that are running around. Lol. Some of them look mighty large. That one looked like 4 pounder. Take care and after seeing the success that you’ve had year after year ( goof ass) is hardly a title for you. Thanks again for sharing your experience with us. Your my favorite channel.
merry christmas
The goof ass is the one that made the comment it’s your property and you make the decisions as to what takes place on it. In my opinion clover is one of the best deer foods in the world. I plant it myself. You have an awesome place I wouldn’t do anything but enhance what I got. Whoever made a comment like that needs to learn how to tend to his own business
Dennis, time will tell, if you won't have to use the Ruger No.1 7mm Rem. Mag. or more of the Muzzleloader. There is lots of mentals out there!
@@richxts1357 Time tells all.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family And your response to tha that GOOF ASS was spot on I do appreciate the explanation though I think you have everything under control 😉
Thanks. I hope you are having a great holiday season also.
You tell em Dennis he's the dumb A>> for not noticing you could have tagged out quite a few times if someone was to call you a dumbA>> it would be for not shooting those deer and filling your tags but everyone has their reasons for what they do and it's really no one else's business unless you make it theirs. Merry Christmas !!!
There's always some goof ass clown that seems the need to put their two cents in, I love your reply to that rude comment sir, Love your videos, keep up the great work, Merry Christmas.
Thanks . He is not really all that bad. Just different.
The way I see it, it's your farm. You know it better than anyone watching your videos. You can do with it what you want to. Always somebody that knows better than you. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Merry Christmas friend Walt.
A new salt mixture top hill early fall. Suger, mineral salt, grape, cherry canister kool-aid, lemonade canisters mix water. They say run, load your gun.😊
Sounds like a winner to me!
If you want the clover to realy come in strong spread chicken minure on it
