If your questioning who that woman who carved MK and brought him to life, she is the primordial creation goddess Nüwa who crafted the universe’s creatures from animals to demons/spirits to humans.
Yeah, I talked about Nüwa a lot in this video 😅 Although, it's important to note that it hasn't been confirmed that the lady who created MK is Nüwa - it is just speculation at this point. Nüwa is not even in the book Monkie Kid is based on, and Nüwa's main identifying feature is her serpent body, but we did not see the body of the woman who created MK, so we can't really say for sure if it is her or not.
I am hoping she is Goddess Nuwa though. Her myth is really amazing. As for why MK had all of Sun Wukong's powers, it could be that when Sun Wukong was created, Goddess never actually intended it and the stone had just been left behind. But after ahe saw what Sun Wukong was capable of, she decided to replicate the natural phenomena and create MK. Kinda like how humans replicated the process for creating diamonds. The other stone animals look like the Chinese Zodiac, except the bear... Wondering why the bear was included...
@@MahiMahi-yu5jo my guess is that the clay animals represent animal spirits/demons that Wukong encountered in JTTW, so the bear would be the black bear demon. Also Nüwa didn’t create Wukong, there are some versions that say she did, just like there are some versions where instead of facing the six eared macaque Wukong faced a magical manifestation of his wicked side, but according to the original version Wukong was created suddenly and unintentionally when energy from heaven and earth collided, though to be honest there’s no guarantee of which version the writers intend to use.
@@sarahelroub1800 I know that in the original Sun Wukong was just born, not created by any specific being. And even that could work out. Goddess Nuwa saw how Wukong was born and replicated the process to create MK... I think the version of lore that Goddess Nuwa created Sun Wukong is from the New Gods verse of movies. But, end of the day, they are all just speculation and we need to wait for the show. Still, the story of Goddess Nuwa patching up the holes in heaven and fixing the supporting pillar is amazing. I'm a big fan of Creation myths.
@@MahiMahi-yu5jo I especially love the one with her punishing King Zhou for desecrating (cough cough) her statue and talking about her as if she were his concubine, by creating and sending three seductive creatures to distract him until his kingdom fell into ruins. If that story is canon to LMK (if a bit toned down) it would be fun to see everyone act like Nüwa is a perfect paragon of tranquility only to be shocked when they find out (through this story) that she has just as firey of a temper as her son.
Did you know that the mystery of Mk's identity appears earlier in season 1? In the episode where Mk had to focus on a moment, a type of sheet appears on Mk and in the name part it says "MK" with several question marks on the sheet showing that no one knew about his origin and identity before season 4
If you actually think about it in episode two, when MK made his clones, and they went crazy, it was really quite similar to swk and macaque being that The clones not really fully looked like MK and we’re most likely porty clones
So I found out Nuwa might have actually died because according to classic mountain and seas (an ancient and mysterious book full of folklore) after death her intestines became 10 gods and I still love the theory she’s Nuwa but there’s still the other theory that she’s the queen mother of the west
I hope that in the upcoming specials, we get to know more about Mk's past and what happened to him and his creator. If they can get Wukong back from the scroll then maybe he'll tell his part of the story when MK first existed.
Ah, well, according to David Breen, the co-producer of Monkie Kid, Sun Wukong actually doesn't know anything about MK's creation 👀 Apparently, Sun Wukong was looking for MK in the Scroll, but kept finding the stone instead (but didn't know why). I thought that when MK was having his visions, when he saw Sun Wukong looking at the stone, that was a flashback. But apparently, that wasn't a flashback, and MK was seeing Sun Wukong in the present. My guess is Sun Wukong just noticed that MK had the same powers as him, but didn't know why, and just decided to train him. Tweet by the co-producer: twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619792594271367168?t=eoiDqIKxnvDe1ygyjx3t1g&s=19 But yeah, hopefully we'll find more about MK's creation in the special!
I think so, although it's not confirmed. A lot of people did think it meant that Sun Wukong was MK's father though, but the co-producer of the show said that is not the case: twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619787545554083840?t=vZubALK2Y1DaZTK0-xpFDw&s=19 So yeah, brothers feels likely. At least, MK is literally the only person we know of that is related to Sun Wukong (although I do also think Macaque is a clone of Sun Wukong lol)
@@spencerh745 Journey to the West does say the smoke from the furnace "reddened his eyes" in Chapter 7, and it goes on to say he now has "fiery eyes and diamond pupils". However, he is also described as having "golden eyes" in Volume 2, Chapter 44. So, I'd say his eyes are definitely golden, but it's possible they were a mix of gold and red, or they were red when they first got irritated by the smoke, but then became golden when they healed. There's also the fact that Sun Wukong is likely based off of a Rhesus Macaque, and those types of monkeys have golden eyes, but they also have red colouring around their eyes.
@@RVSketch oh ok thanks! I also want to say that I didn't read the book, I am watching an animated recap of the book and the latest one was when macaque just appeared and deceived the whole gang. Anyways thanks again and also great vid
@@spencerh745 Thanks! And are you talking about Overly Sarcastic Productions (OSP)? I know a lot of people watch them, although I have also heard there are a few inaccuracies in their videos. The one that annoys me most is the fact that, in their latest video, they drew the Six Eared Macaque as having six ears, even though he is never described as having six ears in the book (his name refers to his origins, not his physical appearance). OSP also left out the most important part of the Six Eared Macaque story! Which is the fact that the Six Eared Macaque is actually part of Sun Wukong's mind - Sun Wukong and the Six Eared Macaque are two parts of the same person. I think I mentioned this in this video, but I did make this video explaining how the Six Eared Macaque is part of Sun Wukong's mind in Journey to the West: ruclips.net/video/c8xkjofrDUA/видео.html Anyway, OSP is probably good for getting a summary/general understanding of Journey to the West, but obviously they can't include everything.
i wanted to point out that Macaque has golden eyes too for some reason but probably because we don't know anything about Macaque and his past, even tho we have seen him in Sun Wukong's memories but that was only a little information about him that we know of. i hope in season 5 will maybe give some information about Macaque as well, maybe. i was just confused on that part as i do wanna know about those books you reminded that i never knew of. i would probably like to check them out myself if i knew where to find them correctly but i just wanted to point this out a little
Yeah, I noticed that as well! It fits in with my theory that Macaque is a clone of Sun Wukong (which makes sense since, in the book, the Six Eared Macaque is made from Sun Wukong's mind and they are two parts of one person). And if you want to read the books, this website has PDFs of Journey to the West in different languages: journeytothewestresearch.com/2023/08/08/archive-42-pdfs-of-journey-to-the-west-translations/ There are two English ones: the Anthony C. @@RVSketch thanks for the information. i do wanna hope that season 5 will give some answer at least, then having to deal with less answers and more questions sense the episode are kinda fast to catch on with but who did say that animations were easy to make
I like the theory. I think that one of the 4 celestial primates like was told in the journey to the west. One Sun Wukong. Second Red Buttocked Baboon. Third Longed Armed Gibbon. Fourth Six Eared Macaque. I think MK is the Red Buttocked Baboon Because in the book it says that Red Buttocked Baboon has comprehension of human affairs. Mk has been with humans most of his life. Also he wears red pants. But that's just my theory.
Oh yeah, I've heard that theory! Personally, I'd prefer if the Red Buttocked Baboon is a different character to MK lol, so we get as many monkey characters as possible 😅
@@RVSketch Yeah but if the theory is true, then season 5 or even better the upcoming season 4 special will give us more to think about like where is the 4th and final monkey
I have 3 items on my Season 5 wishlist 1) we get the other 2 spiritual primates from JTTW 2) the animals from Chinese Zodiac (bonus if Monkey is missing and they confuse MK for them) 3) MK's origin story
@@jagirl966 for me, I would like to know how Sun Wukong and Macaque met (I'm really hoping my theory that Macaque is a clone of Sun Wukong comes true 😅) and why Sun Wukong apparently killed Macaque lol. Tbh I really want a Macaque centred season ;)
@@RVSketch okay. Add a 4th item to the list. How Wukong and Macaque met. He calls him "bud" in the special, so they were obviously friends. I have since changed my headcanon about MK since I commented a while ago. I have a fanfic idea that MK is the "child" of the Monkey from the Zodiac, hidden away for some unknown reason. I got it when I was looking up fanart for Monkey MK and came across fanart of zodiac in my dive. If the Zodiac do show up, I would love to see them try to convince MK to go with them.
Okay, so here me out - that's my theory: the woman in the vision is Guanyin, who helped Trupataka and Wukong multiple times throughout the journey to the west. Guanyin wanted to create a new, more reliable, new Sun Wukong, so she tried creating different animals from the same stone Wukong was born from, but none of them was successful, so in the end she settled for a monkey, despise not wanting to make him too similar to Wukong. The monkey broke so Guanyin gave up, but after she left, the broken monkey came to life, which resulted in MK/Xiaotian (still looking for how it is spelled in mandarin so cuz it might have some hidden meaning). Assuming Pigsy, Sandy, and Tang are the real deal (reincarnation or rewritten), that leaves only Guanyin and the Buddha himself as the only big players in JTTW that we're yet to see. I'm sure that theory is full of flaws, but if it wasn't - where's the fun? 😊
That's a pretty cool theory! I especially like the idea of Guanyin trying to make other animals because she didn't want them to be too similar to Sun Wukong (on a related note: I do wonder if it's possible those other animals also came to life, or will come to life in the future 👀). Also, concerning MK's name: his full name in the Chinese dub is Qi Xiaotian (齐小天). (Note: in China, surnames come first, so Qi is his surname, and Xiaotian is his personal name). And that name does in fact have a cool meaning! According to the Monkie Kid wiki, his name "[t]ranslates to Together Little Heaven. Xiǎo (小) meaning little and Tiān (天) meaning sky or heaven. The surname Qí (齐) is the simplified character for 齊. Both these characters come from Monkey King's title: "The Great Sage, Equal to Heaven" or Qítiān Dàshèng (齊天大聖)."
@@RVSketch let me build on the theory even further: Guanyin DID succeed in making the new Wukong she wanted, a different animals we don't see. We were mistaken to assume MK was the final attempt. MK was another failed attempt that coincidentally became alive. But "the real deal" is actually the new villain for this arc. Either they strayed away from Guanyin, or attacked her uppon becoming a living being, and that's the main villain of this arc - the Macaque to MK the new Wukong.
I love this theory it definitely fills in most of the plot holes concerning MK already having Wukong's powers. Maybe one of the failed attempts is the new villain.
Thanks! And that is a cool idea! Although, my theory is that Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy are the original pilgrims, so instead of Mei being a stone, I'd say Ao Lie - so all the pilgrims could've been the stones 👀 And if they aren't the stones, it would be cool if the stones became other monkeys (or even just other animals) :O
@@RVSketch I like your theory on them being the original pilgrims, but in the show you actually see family, (except for Sandy) and one episode, you can see Pigsy family in pictures and then another tang mentions his mother
@@Jing_Xiao Thanks! But my theory involves their memories being messed with, so maybe they've been given false memories about their supposed family members. And we haven't have actually seen their family members in the show, except some of Pigsy's family in photos, and those photos could have been faked by whoever messed with their memories 👀 I did make this video on my theory, but it is a bit out of date since I made it before season 4, so I am planning to make an updated version (unless the special comes out and my theory is either explicitly proven or disproven by the special lol): ruclips.net/video/y3DICseGxUM/видео.html
i think Wukong broke the statue of mk. think about it maybe Wokong was worried that another monkey with his abilities would end up like Macaque so he broke the figure in an effort to stop anything from being born from it and went off with his immortal life. However, mk still emerged as just human and little and somehow found his way to the mainland without Wukong noticing maybe his creator intervened and moved the statue to the mainland in an effort to keep it away from Wukong. (we never see the statue in the present so there's no reason to assume it's still where we saw it.) we know workings egg-rock took thousands of years to hatch so I don't see why Mks statue would be different it's possible that the time between Wuong breaking the figure and the start of the show were we see Wukong observing him was hundreds of years and Wukong forgot about the incident or he didn't connect them.
That's a cool theory! I do like the idea of Sun Wukong not wanting another person like Macaque to exist and cause trouble. Hopefully we find out what's going on soon! 😅 I do know that, according to David Breen, the co-producer of Monkie Kid, Sun Wukong actually doesn't know anything about MK's creation 👀 Apparently, Sun Wukong was looking for MK in the Scroll, but kept finding the stone instead (but didn't know why). I thought that when MK was having his visions, when he saw Sun Wukong looking at the stone, that was a flashback. But apparently, that wasn't a flashback, and MK was seeing Sun Wukong in the present. Tweet by the co-producer: twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619792594271367168?t=eoiDqIKxnvDe1ygyjx3t1g&s=19 But that works with your idea that Sun Wukong didn't connect the breaking of the statue with MK's existence 👀 So yeah, hopefully we'll find more about MK's creation in the special!
@@RVSketch speaking of Mk monkey stone being broken, we actually have to remember that we saw it in the scroll and it was in the past so it being broken in the past means that Mk was always broken and I think it might have to go back on Mk age, we still don’t know how old he is but when he showed up at Pigsy restaurant we don’t know how old he was and we don’t know how long he’s been living there so it might be that Mk is older or younger than we think because Pigsy doesn’t know how old he is when he came because he just showed up with no note and nothing so he basically had to just assumed his age. That’s why we don’t know his age because that’s don’t know as well they assume just like us.
If MK was a part of that Craving, judging by how it looks now, MK is less than half finished so how he has all Sun Wukang's powers, he at least suppose to miss some abilities.
Same! There's honestly so much from the book they haven't covered! Not to mention, they could use material from the unofficial sequels/spin-offs of the book (the ones that are hundreds of years old, not any modern ones obv) as well as other Chinese mythology.
Oye RV Sketch.
Yeah that is really interesting! It could link to my theory that MK has somehow been infected by Macaque's power! Or maybe MK is made from Macaque, and not Sun Wukong 👀
@@RVSketch oh no hermano. In Journey To The West, there are 4 "super monkeys", basically. There's Sun Wukong aka the Intelligent Stone Monkey, then there's the 6 Eared Macaque, and the other two - Red Buttocked Baboon, and Long-Armed Gibbon. Considering that 6 Eared Macaque doesn't look like, well, a Macaque with 6 Ears, they can retcon the story of the Long-armed Gibbon, for example, to be MK.
Yeah, maybe! Although Gibbons are apes and so they don't have tails, so if MK was one of the Four Spiritual Primates, then he would have to be the Red Buttocked Baboon. Also, Macaque not having six ears in Monkie Kid isn't really a retcon or a change, as the Six Eared Macaque is actually never said to have six ears in Journey to the West - his name actually refers to his origin, not his appearance. This is because the Six Eared Macaque is made from Sun Wukong's mind in the book, and the phrase "six ears" refers to this as it links to a Chinese saying and the Buddhist concept of the Six Impurities. If you want a more thorough explanation, I did make this video about it, explaining how the Six Eared Macaque and Sun Wukong are two parts of the same mind: ruclips.net/video/c8xkjofrDUA/видео.html Anyway, MK being one of the Four Spiritual Primates would be interesting, but I'm not sure how it would work, as the Intelligent Stone Monkey is Sun Wukong, so my impression was only one of the Four Spiritual Primates is a stone monkey, but we know MK is also made from the stone. But who knows 😅
@@RVSketch the promise of another pair of spiritual primates is too good to be wasted 🤔 The Baboon and the Gibbon will get involved sooner or later. It's obvious that Wukong is involved with the creation of MK, in one way or another. I think that the woman in the visions is Kuan Yin, who was very involved in the journey to the west. It comes to the question if why. Maybe Wukong felt lonely and wanted to create a new version of his old friends? But that wouldn't make sense in the timeline.🤔 Sorry, I'm kind of a scatterbrained 😅
@@Oridcas_insta Yeah, I do hope we see the other two Spiritual Primates! Also, even though MK is made from Sun Wukong's rock, according to David Breen, the co-producer of Monkie Kid, Sun Wukong actually doesn't know anything about MK's creation 👀 Apparently, Sun Wukong was looking for MK in the Scroll, but he kept finding the stone instead (but didn't know why). I thought that when MK was having his visions, when he saw Sun Wukong looking at the stone, that was a flashback. But apparently, that wasn't a flashback, and MK was seeing Sun Wukong in the present. Tweet by the co-producer: twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619792594271367168?t=eoiDqIKxnvDe1ygyjx3t1g&s=19 However, considering the whole Memory Scroll thing and the fact that there seems to be evidence characters' memories have been tampered with, it is 100% possible Sun Wukong helped create MK but someone erased his memorise of it! :O
i mean, if he says "there were two people born from this stone" and "you were not born from this stone", could that not be an indication that there's ANOTHER goddamn monkey running around here?
Well, he said "you were not born from the stone as he was", which I took to mean that MK was born from the stone, but not in the same way as Sun Wukong (as Sun Wukong obviously hatched from the stone, but it seems like MK was carved from its remains). But I could see that line being interpreted as MK not being born from the stone at all (but then why would Master Subodhi even take MK to the stone?) Regardless, there probably are other monkey people, like the other two Spiritual Primates from Journey to the West 👀
@@RVSketch i mean, unless the other primates were a lie! :> and, well, mk did repeatedly ask to go to monkey king's stone, which would explain why. it's not that i don't think mk also came from the stone!!! i'm just a sucker for ambiguity in dialogue and exact words. if we compared it to the chinese dub, maybe it would eliminate one of the possible interpretations of the phrasing, but. i do not speak chinese. too many miniscule tone differences
@@nemnyoom ah, well, while I'm of the opinion that the Buddha was lying about the other Spiritual Primates in JTTW, I feel like it's unlikely LMK will take that route 😅 (not that LMK seems to acknowledging the existence of the Buddha any way lol). But barely any JTTW adaptations bring the other two Spiritual Primates up at all, since they only have a line each dedicated to them in JTTW. It's a shame because I'm always down for more cool monkey characters. I'd also like to see LMK bring in Sun Wukong's ape generals, but it seems the writers have replaced all his monkey citizens/family with regular, non-yaoguai, monkeys... 😔 And yeah, I too wish I could understand the Chinese dub - there are definitely sometimes things in there that the English version leaves out. Although the English version is actually the original version of the show (likely because the writers are all English speaking, as the show is made in Australia).
@@RVSketch oh, buddha is acknowledged in lmk!!! it's just. cut off. there's a bunch of rules and guidelines that have to be followed on kid shows regarding religion. i think that, in lmk, folk deities are all fair play, but if you get to major figures in major religions, such as buddha, you're on really thin ice to be as inoffensive as possible, and that is just. not going to end well lego writers are very good at simultaneously overcomplicating and streamlining their stories. due to adding the original characters necessary for the story to work, they had to eliminate the more minor characters. also, wukong having actual martial duties as literal ruler of monkey society might get in the way of the plot a bit, as well as toeing the line with lego's non-violence policy. which is a bit odd, seeing as lmk is definitely on the more violent end of the lego spectrum, but i think there's intricacies regarding (especially major) protagonists commanding armies on a permanent/regular basis. sorry, i have approximate knowledge of many lego things maybe the smart monkeys just moved to live somewhere else. they started a monkey republic, leaving wukong with their mortal offspring i know the english version is the original. that's part of my approximate knowledge of many lego things. pretty much everything is written in english, even when it's being developed in denmark. do you think the chinese dub can fit more into the dialogue, since it's such a popular story over there that kids have probably absorbed a lot of it as background knowledge in their lives (like how kids over here are just "yeah we know darth vader is luke's dad" but it's "yeah the mysterious water made those guys pregnant")? why didn't i do chinese in high school. well, i know why, but. ancient regrets continue to haunt
@@nemnyoom Well, the Jade Emperor is an important deity in Taoism, and the writers just killed him off lol. And I know there are a few extra things in the Chinese dub - if I recall, DBK was referred to as Sun Wukong's sworn brother in the Chinese dub, but this info was not revealed until much later in the English version.
I think MK is one of the two previously unseen cosmic primates (out of the four total in existence). More specifically, I think he might turn out to be the Long-Armed Gibbon, as opposed to the Red-Bottomed Baboon. I could be wrong tho.
Gibbons don't have tails though lol - they are apes, not monkeys. And MK has a tail 🐒 I have seen a lot of people say MK could be the Red-Bottomed Baboon, but he's made from stone, and one of the Four Spiritual Primates is the Intelligent Stone Monkey, who is Sun Wukong. So I think there's only supposed to be one stone monkey in the Four Spiritual Primates? They could obviously change that in Monkie Kid though lol 👀
Sun wukong’s eyes where originally golden as at the start of the intro we can see sun Wukong with golden eyes on the part where he doesn’t have clothes only leaves
True, but that's probably a mistake - it was the first ever intro after all. Either way, it was clearly retconned since it was made very clear in the season 2 special that his eyes are only golden because he was in the furnace, like in the book. Edit: but I guess it's possible they could retcon it again lol
0:35 since Master Subodhi said that the stone Wukong came from gave birth again, but also that MK was not born from the stone. Is it possible that Macaque was born from the same stone as Wukong?
Hmm.. well I don't think Master Subodhi said the stone gave birth again, he said "it was used to form another". After the stone cracked open and gave birth, I don't think it could really do that again (but clearly someone used the remains of the stone to make MK). However, it is not impossible that Sun Wukong and Macaque were twins that came out of the stone at the same time. Which would make sense, as in the original story they are two parts of the same person, and so in a way technically were born at the same time in the book. Another idea is that, since in Monkie Kid Macaque has shadow powers, maybe he is literally Sun Wukong's shadow come to life, and so would have come into existence when Sun Wukong came from the stone. Of course, personally, my theory is that Macaque was a hair clone of Sun Wukong. Especially because they have identical golden eyes.
@@RVSketch yeah at the moment I also think the idea of Macaque being a clone is the mist likely too. 😄 One of the reasons i was wondering if Wukong and Macaque could have come from the same stone was because of the text you showed on screen (0:39) that said the stone “…had been nourished for a long period… by the essences of the sun and moon…” which reminded me of how Macaque to himself and Wukong as the moon and sun
@@dibzybd9741 Oh true! Yeah, I do agree that it would make sense if that passage from the book is why they used the sun and moon metaphor in the show 👀
I have a detail here that I noticed, and which I shared on Tumblr. Weren't you confused by the not-so-kind expression on Wukong's face when looking at the stone? Although, Wukong was looking not only at the stone, but also at "us". maybe he wasn't alone, or was with Nuwa? But the most interesting thing is, why is the "Monkey Stone" split lying on the "ground" and not "in the stone"? That is, did someone interfere with Ritaul, or did Wukong himself want to destroy the stone? Very confused dialogues, then they say that the MK is not made of stone, then quite the opposite, because the Cherinla MK comes out of stone. Why did I ask this, just because a stone monkey (split) is lying on the ground, what is in the stone? Although, the MK is also buggy with cracks.
Yeah, it is confusing. Although, it's actually been confirmed that Sun Wukong did not know MK came from the stone. Basically, when Sun Wukong was looking at the stone, that wasn't a flashback. That was Sun Wukong in the Scroll looking at a memory of the stone. So Sun Wukong had never seen MK's stone until he saw a memory of it in the Scroll. This is what David Breen, the co-producer of Monkie Kid, said: twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619792594271367168?t=eoiDqIKxnvDe1ygyjx3t1g&s=19 I think the creators of Monkie Kid probably could have made that scene better, because loads of people, including myself, thought that scene was a flashback and that Sun Wukong was there when MK was a stone. But apparently not lol. Also, I think maybe the stone used to be bigger, and the monkey made of stone came from the stone. So, the stone we saw is what is left of the stone after the monkey made of stone came from it.
@@RVSketch Then it is not surprising that that scene is confusing, or it is transmitted incorrectly for our eyes. These scraps are so distorted that the plot develops differently in your head. But, despite this, the developers took the project seriously, or to think through everything to the smallest detail that various theories are being built from season 1. That not every project approaches this so responsibly. Thank you for your reply.☀️
Oigan, tengo una teoría, se imaginan de que la chaqueta que MK tiene en la 1ra temporada, Pigsy se la compro en una tienda referente a Sun Wukong porque siempre se ve en el show esa clase de tiendas...xdxdxd
Yeah it is very interesting! And you're right - it would be pretty cool to see a normal human use these powers! Although, there's a possibility Master Subodhi was once a normal human. He's obviously hundreds of years old, but even humans can learn to cultivate immortality. His character in Journey to the West is also believed to be based on Subhūti, one of the ten principle disciples of the Buddha, who many believe to have been a real person.

Thanls! And yeah, this theory is the only thing I could think of that would make MK having gold vision/eyes make sense! So far, the Monkie Kid writers have done an amazing job with all the little details - so hopefully they didn't just miss this huge plot hole 😅
PEOPLE! I have a good new and a bad new. The good new is that the season 5 trailer is out (although it is in mandarin, but is ok). The bad new is, well...THE ANIMATION IS NOT THAT GREAT! 😭
Yeah, I saw it. I've been seeing some people say that maybe they've just hired another studio to do promotional animation, and I HOPE that's the case. But, there's a good chance they really have completely switched the animation studio 😔
@@RVSketch I am afraid that is the case. The LMK wiki page says, that the Wildbrain animation studio will handle the animation onward. Lets hope that Flying Bark will return in the future.
@@RVSketch These are very sad news. 😢 However, maybe it won't be bad. It's just, i am so used to Flying Bark's animation, that the new one seems weird to many fans including me. Maybe, in the future Flying Bark will return for a future season. Or perhaps a film.
Maybe. Although, if Pigsy found and raised MK, he must've given him the name "MK", so I'm not sure how MK could mean "Monkey Kid" or "Monkey King" since Pigsy didn't know about MK's connection to Monkey King at the time 🤔
Why does the Monkey King season 4 minifigure have the headband even tough in the show monkey king season 3 design was the one that he used in the JTTW and in LMK wiki the s4 minifigure is called Journey even though he losses the outfit in the show when he gets the headband
I think it's probably because the Lego sets get made before each season gets finished. Sometimes stuff in the sets is inaccurate because they were going to do one thing, but then they changed their mind and did something else - but by the time they changed what was going to happen in the show, the sets had already been made. That's why, for example, Macaque has six ears in the season 3 sets, but not in the show. They were going to give him six ears, but they changed their minds.
Boy that dumb monkey king reversed his powers that means that he’s not a mortal when he can still control his powers last time he couldn’t, but he was a mortal
Yeah, I like your video but after season 5, I can't handle it. Its too sad 😭. But is it just like that about mk ? And how about the other people in lmk, they all have powers 🤔
Well, it could be that dark energy weapons are one of Sun Wukong's powers. OR, the other possibility is that the reason Macaque has shadow powers is because he made a deal with a shadow demon, and that same demon infected MK. I know this sounds crazy, but my next video will be about this theory, and hopefully it makes at least some sense 😅
It could also be that only monkeys who have "evolved" or cultevated have golden eyes. Not saying you're wrong. But I like the idea of them being born from floerer and fauna of F-F-MT better. I guess I'm just not comfortable with the idea of something from MY MIND suddenly coming into existence.
Well, the carving is just a memory in the Scroll. And I wasn't saying the carving was the missing part of MK. Because it was a memory, I'm saying the carving IS MK - that it came to life and turned into him. The carving is missing a piece, so the piece the carving was missing is the piece MK is missing.
Oh, yeah, I understand now! Yeah that would make sense, since Sun is Sun Wukong's surname, and, in the book, he gave all his monkey family that surname too! Although, in the Chinese dub, MK's name is actually Qi Xiaotian (齐小天)! And that name actually comes from Sun Wukong's title! From the Monkie Kid wiki: "[MK's name] translates to Together Little Heaven.
After thinking the idea that MK came from that carving seems unlikely to me, the carving to me seems like a machine that got broken before the creator can use it I mean the majority of it is still there if the majority of MK is missing, it wouldn't make sense that he has all Monkey King's powers at least he is supposed to miss some abilities , maybe he descended from both Macaque and Monkey King and that can explain his super natural talent that is superior to Monkey King's.
You could be right 👀 Although tbf Sun Wukong has a lot of abilities, and we haven't seen him or MK use all of them. We have seen Sun Wukong use laser beam eyes though, but not MK.
@@RVSketch but there's no scene that can be considered a hint that MK misses at least one ability from Sun Wukang, to me it seems the opposite, I mean his second battle with Azure , it makes me think that MK is more powerful than Sun Wukang and add on that it's not even his full potential, so the idea of MK being an unfinished clone of Sun Wukang to me falls off easily
@@mohammadtarek3842 True. Maybe he is less of an unfinished clone, and more of a broken clone. Like, he has all the abilities, but his body (and maybe mind? Since his personality seemed quite different in the battle with Azure) cannot handle it. Like, maybe he has all the abilities but he is slowly deteriorating because he is broken.
Preettyyyy sure tha woman is guan yin, yk, the woman who's vase could hold the waters of the ocean? I don't know how you spell her name exactly.. But that woman seems to be guan yin, and my theory is, like you said, the stone was ABANDONED. What I think happend was the stone was out under Wukongs care, but Wukong didn't understand that, or just didn't want to, either way, he ended up leaving the stone there, abandoned, and during the time of the stone being alone, something must have happend for it to fall, crack, and break. It seems the most logical
Ah, well, unfortunately, David Breen, the co-producer of Monkie Kid, has said that Sun Wukong didn't know about the stone. In MK's had that vision, when he saw Sun Wukong with the stone, that was actually in the present and not a flashback (according to David Breen). David Breen said Sun Wukong was looking for MK in the Scroll but kept finding the stone instead and didn't know why. twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619792594271367168?t=r9VrEyVOKONj8ei5I__Ldg&s=19 Anyway, that woman _could_ be Guanyin, but I'm not really seeing any evidence for it personally, as she's not known to have creation powers lol. It would be a crazy twist though! We also did briefly sort of see Guanyin in season 2 - she and whoever made MK don't look super similar, but it's hard to tell based on the images we've got, plus it's more of a painting than a flashback, so her appearance there could easily be retconned. static.wikia.nocookie.net/legomonkiekid/images/f/fb/Guanyin.jpeg/revision/latest?cb=20210822023731
I am talking about Sun Wukong, but I do actually pronounce it that way on purpose 😅. This is because Sun Wukong is a Chinese name, and the proper pronunciation of it sounds more like "soon"*. I am probably not pronouncing it exactly right, but I always try to put in the effort to pronounce the Chinese names of characters correctly (even though the voice actors of the English version of Monkie Kid do not always pronounce the names right, especially Sun Wukong's name). *This website has audio examples of the pronunciation, I believe it is pretty accurate (fyi I don't speak Chinese though): forvo.com/word/%E5%AD%99%E6%82%9F%E7%A9%BA/
Well, he might have gold vision and we just haven't seen him use it! I mean, I'm pretty sure we've only seen Sun Wukong use his gold vision once. And like I said at the end of this video, I believe Macaque is a clone of Sun Wukong, thus explaining why he has golden eyes 👀
@@RVSketch no I think it is only a monkey king thing of having gold vision I just think that sun Wukong and macaque just got the same eyes colour although there is probably a deeper meaning that I don’t want to go into before season 5 which is probably never coming out 😢
Definitely the Monkey King Warrior Mech. Not only is the mech itself super cool, but it comes with Monkey King on a floating cloud and a mini city block that has Pigsy's Noodles shop and MK's bedroom.
Guanyin! Yeah, I did see someone else say that as well! But I don't know if it really fits her character? It would be a pretty interesting twist 👀 We also did briefly sort of see Guanyin in season 2 - she and whoever made MK don't look super similar, but it's hard to tell based on the images we've got lol. static.wikia.nocookie.net/legomonkiekid/images/f/fb/Guanyin.jpeg/revision/latest?cb=20210822023731
Maybe the carving is connected to MK but he didn't came from it , I mean maybe when it broke the power inside it was released and found it's way inside MK somehow, maybe that's the reason behind the glitching as this power was never supposed to be inside him in the first place like a program that have been put in the wrong device(a device without the correct drivers)
@@RVSketchmaybe that's why he was chosen as the successor of Sun Wukang, I mean maybe the mysterious woman was making a successor for Sun Wukang but something targic happened to her that caused her to disappear or even die and the carving to be broken and the power in it in the end went inside MK and I think Sun Wukang and maybe Macaque know about this and trying to hide it from him as he probably won't accept the role of Sun Wukang's successor as it is a result of a targdy, I suggest that because I feel that both of them is hiding something from MK.
@@RVSketchmaybe that's why MK seems to be more powerful than Sun Wukang, I think that the mysterious woman and probably even Sun Wukang wanted the successor's power to surpass Wukang's as it is evidenced when MK released an insane huge power to go on his fight with Azure, Sun Wukang wasn't confused nor surprised at all, he was just happy, proud and even relatively clam , it seems like he knew that it might happen.
Since she was in the clouds or they were just using that to cover up her body But if she was in the clouds what if she dropped mk from the sky And that's why he's crack But She tried looking for him but Couldn't find him
That's definitely a possibility! Master Subodhi said MK came from Sun Wukong's stone, but since he was just a memory in the Scroll, the fact he seemed so aware/conscious makes me think he was actually the Ink Curse pretending to be Subodhi - so he could've been lying! And, if it turns out Sun Wukong came from one of Nüwa's stones, it could be that MK came from a different stone of hers 👀
Well, it has not been officially confirmed/announced, but there probably will be a 5th season. The writers on the show have clearly planned more, as season 4 ended with a bit of a cliffhanger with lots of unanswered questions. I have heard anecdotally that some people who work on the show said, at conventions, that they were working on season 5, but I can't confirm this.
They must have always been there, since it's been revealed he came from Sun Wukong's stone. It's possible they were always there AND the staff activated/awakened them within him.
True! But there's always the possibility the Monkie Kid writers have decided to have her be alive. I mean, some of the villains in the show died in the original book (e.g. Lady Bone Demon) but they were alive in the show. And plenty of the villains in the show were reformed in the book (Red Son, Jin and Yin etc). Not to mention all the other significant changes the LMK writers have made 😅

Where did you find the book? I been interested in reading it for quite sometime but don't know where to find it and when I do, I don't know if its accurate or not. Can you help me?
Yeah sure! This website has free PDFs of the Anthony C. Yu translation, and then if you scroll down it's also got PDFs of the W. J. F. Jenner translation. journeytothewestresearch.com/2019/06/07/archive-10-journey-to-the-west-2012-revised-edition/ The Anthony C. Yu translation is regarded as the best/most accurate translation, and it has a lot of great footnotes and an introduction by the translator which contextualises a lot of the book. So, I use the Anthony C. Yu translation for my videos because it is the most accurate, but I'm personally reading the W. J. F. Jenner translation because I have hard copies of it. I've heard it's less wordy, but I might have to read both translations in full and compare them one day 😅 Also, this website has short summaries of each chapter of Journey to the West. Oigan.
No, Monkie Kid actually got it right. When Sun Wukong was in the furnace, his eyes got "reddened", but the book also says his eyes became "Fiery". "However, wind could chum up smoke, which at that moment reddened his eyes, giving them a permanently inflamed condition. Hence they were sometimes called Fiery Eyes and Diamond Pupils." (Vol 1 CH 7 P189) After that, he is consistently referred to as having "golden pupils" throughout the book. "His golden pupils ablaze, Pilgrim peered into the dark shadows." (Vol 1 CH 18 P373) "The monster turned around and saw the protruding teeth, the gaping mouth, the fiery eyes, the golden pupils, the pointed head, and the hairy face of Pilgrim" (Vol 1 CH 18 P377) "Pilgrim's gold pupils blazed like lightning" (Vol 1 CH 19 P380) It seems his eyes got reddened/inflamed in the furnace, causing them to permanently become golden. Sun Wukong is actually said to be a macaque in the book, and is likely supposed to resemble a Rhesus Macaque: journeytothewestresearch.com/2017/05/17/sun-wukong-and-the-rhesus-macaque/ And Rhesus Macaques have golden eyes, so that is probably why the author had Sun Wukong get golden eyes!
I saw a video of a Chinese woman talking about the journey to the west, she says that Macaque was born from a stone also like Sun Wukong, but a different stone from Sun Wukong, and also Macaque is originally identical to Sun Wukong, there is no difference between them, the only difference is that macaque has 6 ears, the last part you talk about macaque can be quite confusing as you seem to have gotten carried away about Swk being born from one of those Nuwa stones (used translator, srry for the bad english or if smth are consufing)
Oh, do you have a link to that video you saw? Because I've done a lot of research, and, in the original book, the Six Eared Macaque wasn't born from a stone - he came from Sun Wukong's mind. There are different versions/adaptations of Journey to the West though. But it is true that Sun Wukong and the Six Eared Macaque were identical in the book, with no difference between them. However, that also included the ears. The Six Eared Macaque is never described as having six ears in the book, and his name actually refers to his origins. This is a video I made where I explain how the Six Eared Macaque and Sun Wukong are portrayed as two parts of the same mind in Journey to the West: ruclips.net/video/c8xkjofrDUA/видео.html
I know my theory will not make sense but oh well. My theory is that Mk is a creation from Nuwä, Nuwä is a snake goddess that made humans out of clay. Maybe when she saw that wukong was Alone, she made mk out of Wukongs rock that was left of them, and then she tried to make a animal to grow in the rock (I also think that i'd bee cool if mk a different animal but him being a monkey makes sense) and then she put life to the rock, btw mk was not born from wukongs rock he was born from wukongs leftover rocks so yeah. Then she put mk in the moutain and ig that just wukong founded him (they're is no clue on how wukong founded mk while a lil rock but meh). But maybe wukong fought that if the creature from the rock had his powers they would make chaos OR he fought the creature will run off with his powers like macaque, So he tried to destroy the rock but somehow the rock survived, Wukong may have also tried to destroy the clay stone that was the carved monkey. But when he saw that the tock survived he might have tried to get rid of him by leaving him somewhere. And Ig that he left at Pigsy's restaurant and just left I there.
That makes sense! Although I did hear that one of the co-producers said Sun Wukong didn't know MK was made from his stone 🤔 Maybe he found MK but didn't know he came from his stone 👀
Maybe Wukong was scared that the creature that was gonna come out of the rock was gonna be more stronger and powerful then him. And also we know that mk is not Wukong's real father since Nuwä was the one who made him. Nuwä might be his mother or something. I hope we will see nuwä in the new season, and know mk's past.
@@SharleneAdams oh sorry, I wasn't sure what your comment meant 😅. And I actually pronounce it that way on purpose because that's the Chinese pronunciation of Sun Wukong's name! I know the show pronounces it differently, but I've seen some Chinese people talk about how the show pronounces it incorrectly, so I try to make the effort to pronounce his name, and other Chinese names, correctly! I'm sure my pronunciation is probably a bit off, as I don't speak Chinese, but I use these sites for reference for his name: forvo.com/word/%E5%AD%99%E6%82%9F%E7%A9%BA/ chinese.yabla.com/chinese-english-pinyin-dictionary.php?define=%E6%82%9F%E7%A9%BA
Hope we see mk turn into monkie in season four special
Same!
Mhm

He does! He is also terrifying! 😂
@@RVSketch can you talk about what Lloyd see in his vision is that the future
Did you know that the mystery of Mk's identity appears earlier in season 1? In the episode where Mk had to focus on a moment, a type of sheet appears on Mk and in the name part it says "MK" with several question marks on the sheet showing that no one knew about his origin and identity before season 4
Oh that's really cool! I always wonder exactly how far the writers plan ahead for these sort of things 😅
Ep ????
Also,in Revenge of the Spider Queen,MK's stone figure appears as his reflection inside the Trigram Furnace
If you actually think about it in episode two, when MK made his clones, and they went crazy, it was really quite similar to swk and macaque being that The clones not really fully looked like MK and we’re most likely porty clones
Yeah! I noticed that too! 👀
Tweet by the co-producer:
twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619792594271367168?t=eoiDqIKxnvDe1ygyjx3t1g&s=19
But yeah, hopefully we'll find more about MK's creation in the special!
Does that mean that mk and sun wukong would be hypothetically brothers/relatives. Since they might come from the same creator and the same stone/clay.
I think so, although it's not confirmed. A lot of people did think it meant that Sun Wukong was MK's father though, but the co-producer of the show said that is not the case:
twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619787545554083840?t=vZubALK2Y1DaZTK0-xpFDw&s=19
So yeah, brothers feels likely. At least, MK is literally the only person we know of that is related to Sun Wukong (although I do also think Macaque is a clone of Sun Wukong lol)
@@RVSketchthe part where u mentioned the gold eyes. Wukong's eyes are supposed to be red like in the real journey to the west book
I think I mentioned this in this video, but I did make this video explaining how the Six Eared Macaque is part of Sun Wukong's mind in Journey to the West:
ruclips.net/video/c8xkjofrDUA/видео.html
Anyway, OSP is probably good for getting a summary/general understanding of Journey to the West, but obviously they can't include everything.
i wanted to point out that Macaque has golden eyes too for some reason but probably because we don't know anything about Macaque and his past, even tho we have seen him in Sun Wukong's memories but that was only a little information about him that we know of. i hope in season 5 will maybe give some information about Macaque as well, maybe. i was just confused on that part as i do wanna know about those books you reminded that i never knew of. i would probably like to check them out myself if i knew where to find them correctly but i just wanted to point this out a little
Yeah, I noticed that as well! It fits in with my theory that Macaque is a clone of Sun Wukong (which makes sense since, in the book, the Six Eared Macaque is made from Sun Wukong's mind and they are two parts of one person).

RV you were right we nuwah in the new monkie kid sets and it looks like she will play a massive role in season 5

Yeah! Tbh, I'm thinking maybe MK was made to be some sort of superweapon. If so, what was he made to destroy or fight? 👀
Me too
I have 3 items on my Season 5 wishlist
1) we get the other 2 spiritual primates from JTTW
2) the animals from Chinese Zodiac (bonus if Monkey is missing and they confuse MK for them)
3) MK's origin story
@@Oridcas_insta oh wow that would be awesome! :O
I love this theory it definitely fills in most of the plot holes concerning MK already having Wukong's powers. Maybe one of the failed attempts is the new villain.
@@crowbarhandler that was before the release of the set announcement of nuwa in it XD
So back then my theory was completely valid 🙃
I really want to see where MK and his team will go after season 4.
Hopefully, it will be therapy lol.
Ok this video was really good you deserve more subs and likes
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
10:04 when I looked at the picture again, I can see what might be the missing part of the carving next to it and stuck in the ground.
Really out there but what if Mei, MK, Pigsy, Tang and Sandy are the five, distinctly colored, stones? Love your vids!
~
Thanks! And that is a cool idea! Although, my theory is that Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy are the original pilgrims, so instead of Mei being a stone, I'd say Ao Lie - so all the pilgrims could've been the stones 👀
And if they aren't the stones, it would be cool if the stones became other monkeys (or even just other animals) :O
And we haven't have actually seen their family members in the show, except some of Pigsy's family in photos, and those photos could have been faked by whoever messed with their memories 👀
I did make this video on my theory, but it is a bit out of date since I made it before season 4, so I am planning to make an updated version (unless the special comes out and my theory is either explicitly proven or disproven by the special lol):

That's be cool
i think Wukong broke the statue of mk. think about it maybe Wokong was worried that another monkey with his abilities would end up like Macaque so he broke the figure in an effort to stop anything from being born from it and went off with his immortal life.
I do know that, according to David Breen, the co-producer of Monkie Kid, Sun Wukong actually doesn't know anything about MK's creation 👀 Apparently, Sun Wukong was looking for MK in the Scroll, but kept finding the stone instead (but didn't know why). I thought that when MK was having his visions, when he saw Sun Wukong looking at the stone, that was a flashback. But apparently, that wasn't a flashback, and MK was seeing Sun Wukong in the present.

But that works with your idea that Sun Wukong didn't connect the breaking of the statue with MK's existence 👀
So yeah, hopefully we'll find more about MK's creation in the special!

Yep! That's what the book says 😅 Not as weird as the pregancy water though lol
If MK was a part of that Craving, judging by how it looks now, MK is less than half finished so how he has all Sun Wukang's powers, he at least suppose to miss some abilities.
True 👀 But maybe he is missing some we don't know about.
This show is just so interesting, I really hope it continues
Same! There's honestly so much from the book they haven't covered!
Not to mention, they could use material from the unofficial sequels/spin-offs of the book (the ones that are hundreds of years old, not any modern ones obv) as well as other Chinese mythology.
@@RVSketch sounds exciting!
Oye RV Sketch.
Yeah that is really interesting! It could link to my theory that MK has somehow been infected by Macaque's power! Or maybe MK is made from Macaque, and not Sun Wukong 👀
@@RVSketch oh no hermano.
I can't wait for the season 4 special because we need so many questions to be answered
Yeah! Although I feel like it will likely leave us with more questions 😅
If you want a more thorough explanation, I did make this video about it, explaining how the Six Eared Macaque and Sun Wukong are two parts of the same mind:
ruclips.net/video/c8xkjofrDUA/видео.html
Anyway, MK being one of the Four Spiritual Primates would be interesting, but I'm not sure how it would work, as the Intelligent Stone Monkey is Sun Wukong, so my impression was only one of the Four Spiritual Primates is a stone monkey, but we know MK is also made from the stone. But who knows 😅
@@RVSketch the promise of another pair of spiritual primates is too good to be wasted 🤔
The Baboon and the Gibbon will get involved sooner or later.
It's obvious that Wukong is involved with the creation of MK, in one way or another. I think that the woman in the visions is Kuan Yin, who was very involved in the journey to the west. It comes to the question if why. Maybe Wukong felt lonely and wanted to create a new version of his old friends? But that wouldn't make sense in the timeline.🤔
Sorry, I'm kind of a scatterbrained 😅
@@Oridcas_insta Yeah, I do hope we see the other two Spiritual Primates!
Also, even though MK is made from Sun Wukong's rock, according to David Breen, the co-producer of Monkie Kid, Sun Wukong actually doesn't know anything about MK's creation 👀
Apparently, Sun Wukong was looking for MK in the Scroll, but he kept finding the stone instead (but didn't know why). I thought that when MK was having his visions, when he saw Sun Wukong looking at the stone, that was a flashback. But apparently, that wasn't a flashback, and MK was seeing Sun Wukong in the present.

However, considering the whole Memory Scroll thing and the fact that there seems to be evidence characters' memories have been tampered with, it is 100% possible Sun Wukong helped create MK but someone erased his memorise of it! :O
i mean, if he says "there were two people born from this stone" and "you were not born from this stone", could that not be an indication that there's ANOTHER goddamn monkey running around here?
Well, he said "you were not born from the stone as he was", which I took to mean that MK was born from the stone, but not in the same way as Sun Wukong (as Sun Wukong obviously hatched from the stone, but it seems like MK was carved from its remains). But I could see that line being interpreted as MK not being born from the stone at all (but then why would Master Subodhi even take MK to the stone?)
Regardless, there probably are other monkey people, like the other two Spiritual Primates from Journey to the West 👀
@@RVSketch i mean, unless the other primates were a lie! :>
and, well, mk did repeatedly ask to go to monkey king's stone, which would explain why. it's not that i don't think mk also came from the stone!!! i'm just a sucker for ambiguity in dialogue and exact words. if we compared it to the chinese dub, maybe it would eliminate one of the possible interpretations of the phrasing, but. i do not speak chinese. too many miniscule tone differences
And yeah, I too wish I could understand the Chinese dub - there are definitely sometimes things in there that the English version leaves out. Although the English version is actually the original version of the show (likely because the writers are all English speaking, as the show is made in Australia).
@@RVSketch oh, buddha is acknowledged in lmk!!! it's just. cut off. there's a bunch of rules and guidelines that have to be followed on kid shows regarding religion. i think that, in lmk, folk deities are all fair play, but if you get to major figures in major religions, such as buddha, you're on really thin ice to be as inoffensive as possible, and that is just. not going to end well
lego writers are very good at simultaneously overcomplicating and streamlining their stories. due to adding the original characters necessary for the story to work, they had to eliminate the more minor characters. also, wukong having actual martial duties as literal ruler of monkey society might get in the way of the plot a bit, as well as toeing the line with lego's non-violence policy. which is a bit odd, seeing as lmk is definitely on the more violent end of the lego spectrum, but i think there's intricacies regarding (especially major) protagonists commanding armies on a permanent/regular basis. sorry, i have approximate knowledge of many lego things
maybe the smart monkeys just moved to live somewhere else. they started a monkey republic, leaving wukong with their mortal offspring
i know the english version is the original. that's part of my approximate knowledge of many lego things. pretty much everything is written in english, even when it's being developed in denmark. do you think the chinese dub can fit more into the dialogue, since it's such a popular story over there that kids have probably absorbed a lot of it as background knowledge in their lives (like how kids over here are just "yeah we know darth vader is luke's dad" but it's "yeah the mysterious water made those guys pregnant")?
why didn't i do chinese in high school. well, i know why, but. ancient regrets continue to haunt
Incredibly insightful! Makes me want to look into Chinese mythology to better understand LMK!
And MK has a tail 🐒
I have seen a lot of people say MK could be the Red-Bottomed Baboon, but he's made from stone, and one of the Four Spiritual Primates is the Intelligent Stone Monkey, who is Sun Wukong.
One of the reasons i was wondering if Wukong and Macaque could have come from the same stone was because of the text you showed on screen (0:39) that said the stone “…had been nourished for a long period… by the essences of the sun and moon…” which reminded me of how Macaque to himself and Wukong as the moon and sun
@@dibzybd9741 Oh true! Yeah, I do agree that it would make sense if that passage from the book is why they used the sun and moon metaphor in the show 👀
if MK does find out what he is we still have a missing piece situation btw anyone got theories on why mk was made
Also this video was really good! I look forward to watching more!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
Just watched the new season and well, prepare to have your heart broken on when you learn what MK was created for...
😭
Wait!! Can someone tell me why MK was created 😢
It is very difficult to explain through a translator. Yes, and I should put my theories, or I don't know "Journey to the West" well.
This is what David Breen, the co-producer of Monkie Kid, said:
twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619792594271367168?t=eoiDqIKxnvDe1ygyjx3t1g&s=19
I think the creators of Monkie Kid probably could have made that scene better, because loads of people, including myself, thought that scene was a flashback and that Sun Wukong was there when MK was a stone.
Some of those power that sun Wukong has were already in his ability but he just didn’t know
Yep!
Oigan, tengo una teoría, se imaginan de que la chaqueta que MK tiene en la 1ra temporada, Pigsy se la compro en una tienda referente a Sun Wukong porque siempre se ve en el show esa clase de tiendas...xdxdxd
Oh that would make a lot of sense!
The fact that most of Sun Wukang's powers can be learned by anyone is interesting, I hope we can see a normal human using these powers.
I think that the woman who created MK is Guan-Yin
That would be a pretty crazy plot twist - especially because of Sun Wukong's history with her 👀
Nuwa
He never got the permanent golden eyes in his monky form
Yep! I am wondering if he'll get them if he ever gets a full monkey form though (one with a nose and without yellow skin).

Yeah, I saw it. I've been seeing some people say that maybe they've just hired another studio to do promotional animation, and I HOPE that's the case.
But, there's a good chance they really have completely switched the animation studio 😔

Oh thank you! 🥰
MK means monkey kid and monkey king
Focus kids
Maybe. Although, if Pigsy found and raised MK, he must've given him the name "MK", so I'm not sure how MK could mean "Monkey Kid" or "Monkey King" since Pigsy didn't know about MK's connection to Monkey King at the time 🤔
@@RVSketch I don't really watch the movie but I think so
Why does the Monkey King season 4 minifigure have the headband even tough in the show monkey king season 3 design was the one that he used in the JTTW and in LMK wiki the s4 minifigure is called Journey even though he losses the outfit in the show when he gets the headband
@@RVSketch but it was in the very first episode
@@BigBrainMK-ol6zk oh then I'm not sure then 🤔
Boy that dumb monkey king reversed his powers that means that he’s not a mortal when he can still control his powers last time he couldn’t, but he was a mortal
Yeah, I like your video but after season 5, I can't handle it. Its too sad 😭. But is it just like that about mk ? And how about the other people in lmk, they all have powers 🤔
Master Subodi said that MK without question wasn't born from the stone as Sun Wukang😅.
Yeah - I think that means he came from a stone, but in a different way - like, Sun Wukong hatched from the stone, but MK was made from the remains 👀
If MK is an unfinished clone of Sun Wukang why he has at least one ability from Macaque (forming dark energy weapons)
Your videos are doing great keep up the good work.👍
Thank you! I've definitely got loads more videos coming :D
It could also be that only monkeys who have "evolved" or cultevated have golden eyes.
Not saying you're wrong. But I like the idea of them being born from floerer and fauna of F-F-MT better.
I guess I'm just not comfortable with the idea of something from MY MIND suddenly coming into existence.
yo i love your videos sm ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! I'm very happy to hear that! :)
If the craving is the missing part of MK, why doesn't it react to his presence or MK's body reacts to it's or both?
Well, the carving is just a memory in the Scroll. And I wasn't saying the carving was the missing part of MK. Because it was a memory, I'm saying the carving IS MK - that it came to life and turned into him.
The carving is missing a piece, so the piece the carving was missing is the piece MK is missing.
I'm sorry that was late but sun mk i wanna call it because what would you not call it i wanna say it
Sorry, I'm not sure what you are asking. Could you clarify?
@@RVSketch I don't know i just wanted to call him that because i don't know
Oh, yeah, I understand now!
From the Monkie Kid wiki:
"[MK's name] translates to Together Little Heaven.
His personality didn't really change , he was just very angry at him so he wasn't holding back at all in the battle.
@@mohammadtarek3842 idk - it felt like his personality changed to me. I guess it's just a matter of opinion/interpretation 😅
David Breen said Sun Wukong was looking for MK in the Scroll but kept finding the stone instead and didn't know why.
twitter.com/Davidbreen89/status/1619792594271367168?t=r9VrEyVOKONj8ei5I__Ldg&s=19
Anyway, that woman _could_ be Guanyin, but I'm not really seeing any evidence for it personally, as she's not known to have creation powers lol. It would be a crazy twist though!
We also did briefly sort of see Guanyin in season 2 - she and whoever made MK don't look super similar, but it's hard to tell based on the images we've got, plus it's more of a painting than a flashback, so her appearance there could easily be retconned.

You mean "sun wukong" not "soon wukong" right?
I am talking about Sun Wukong, but I do actually pronounce it that way on purpose 😅. This is because Sun Wukong is a Chinese name, and the proper pronunciation of it sounds more like "soon"*. I am probably not pronouncing it exactly right, but I always try to put in the effort to pronounce the Chinese names of characters correctly (even though the voice actors of the English version of Monkie Kid do not always pronounce the names right, especially Sun Wukong's name).
*This website has audio examples of the pronunciation, I believe it is pretty accurate (fyi I don't speak Chinese though):

Macaque got golden eyes too but he doesn’t have gold vision
Well, he might have gold vision and we just haven't seen him use it! I mean, I'm pretty sure we've only seen Sun Wukong use his gold vision once.
And like I said at the end of this video, I believe Macaque is a clone of Sun Wukong, thus explaining why he has golden eyes 👀
@@RVSketch no I think it is only a monkey king thing of having gold vision I just think that sun Wukong and macaque just got the same eyes colour although there is probably a deeper meaning that I don’t want to go into before season 5 which is probably never coming out 😢
Great video!
Thank you! :)
I think Goddess nuwa made him Probably

I am not convinced that the carvings couldn't work because they weren't "monkeys"
Fair! I certainly would prefer if they did work and we get to see whatever characters they became!
Well Mk is littaraly Sun wukong's leftover
Pretty much 😅
Azure lion stated that mk was fighting off the celestial army, dont you remember that? that means hes older then 2 decades
When did he say that?
What’s your favorite Monkie kid set
Definitely the Monkey King Warrior Mech. Not only is the mech itself super cool, but it comes with Monkey King on a floating cloud and a mini city block that has Pigsy's Noodles shop and MK's bedroom.

@@RVSketch yeah maybe. Also thank you for telling me the spelling and pronunciation of her name I was really frustrated as how to spell it.
It could be Goddess Nuwa
Maybe the carving is connected to MK but he didn't came from it , I mean maybe when it broke the power inside it was released and found it's way inside MK somehow, maybe that's the reason behind the glitching as this power was never supposed to be inside him in the first place like a program that have been put in the wrong device(a device without the correct drivers)
That would make a lot of sense - it would explain how come MK looked human this whole time 👀
@@RVSketchmaybe that's why he was chosen as the successor of Sun Wukang, I mean maybe the mysterious woman was making a successor for Sun Wukang but something targic happened to her that caused her to disappear or even die and the carving to be broken and the power in it in the end went inside MK and I think Sun Wukang and maybe Macaque know about this and trying to hide it from him as he probably won't accept the role of Sun Wukang's successor as it is a result of a targdy, I suggest that because I feel that both of them is hiding something from MK.
@@mohammadtarek3842 That could definitely be true!
But what is the mysterious woman's goal of creating a clone of Sun Wukang?
Maybe she wanted to create a weapon? It could be that whoever wanted to dethrone the Jade Emperor originally made MK so he could do it.
Hopefully we get to learn more of mks past
Yeah! 👀
I think this was just an error here 6:02
Since she was in the clouds or they were just using that to cover up her body But if she was in the clouds what if she dropped mk from the sky And that's why he's crack But She tried looking for him but Couldn't find him
Oh her being up in the clouds and accidentally dropping him makes a lot of sense!
I WANT TO HEAR MK ACCIDENTALLY CALL SWK DAD 😭😭♥️
We got it twice with Pigsy - we need it at least once with Sun Wukong!
Perhaps mk got the powers of monkey king coz nuwa replicated wukongs powers to create a duplicate wukong
Could be! 👀
What if Mk is a born from a diffrent stone???
That's definitely a possibility! Master Subodhi said MK came from Sun Wukong's stone, but since he was just a memory in the Scroll, the fact he seemed so aware/conscious makes me think he was actually the Ink Curse pretending to be Subodhi - so he could've been lying!
And, if it turns out Sun Wukong came from one of Nüwa's stones, it could be that MK came from a different stone of hers 👀
I was thinking Sun Wukong had a desire for a child and Nuwa answered the prayer
Well, if that's the case, then I guess Pigsy accidentally robbed him of parenthood lol
Will there really be a fifth season?!!
@@RVSketch Well, thanks for the answer

It's available in the U.S. on HappyKids.TV :)
My guess Mk's creator is Quan Yin .
Yeah maybe! It would certainly be an interesting twist!
Did the staff awaken MK’s powers or were they always there?
They must have always been there, since it's been revealed he came from Sun Wukong's stone. It's possible they were always there AND the staff activated/awakened them within him.
@@RVSketch it only appeared probably because of direct contact of what power would've been a part or similar to his past
It can't be Nuwa because in the actual legend she died before wukong was even born

J. F. Jenner translation.
journeytothewestresearch.com/2019/06/07/archive-10-journey-to-the-west-2012-revised-edition/
The Anthony C.
I've heard it's less wordy, but I might have to read both translations in full and compare them one day 😅
Also, this website has short summaries of each chapter of Journey to the West. I find it helpful when I want to know where to look for something.

Oigan.
Chan chan chaaaaaaaan
Saludos, me contestas porfa....
I think that's a great theory! It would explain his name really well!
Monkey kid got the eyes wrong wukong's eyes are red in the story
No, Monkie Kid actually got it right.
When Sun Wukong was in the furnace, his eyes got "reddened", but the book also says his eyes became "Fiery".
"However, wind could chum up smoke, which at that moment reddened his eyes, giving them a permanently inflamed condition. Hence they were sometimes called Fiery Eyes and Diamond Pupils."
(Vol 1 CH 7 P189)
After that, he is consistently referred to as having "golden pupils" throughout the book.
"His golden pupils ablaze, Pilgrim peered into the dark shadows."
(Vol 1 CH 18 P373)
"The monster turned around and saw the protruding teeth, the gaping mouth, the fiery eyes, the golden pupils, the pointed head, and the hairy face of Pilgrim"
(Vol 1 CH 18 P377)
"Pilgrim's gold pupils blazed like lightning"
(Vol 1 CH 19 P380)
It seems his eyes got reddened/inflamed in the furnace, causing them to permanently become golden.
Sun Wukong is actually said to be a macaque in the book, and is likely supposed to resemble a Rhesus Macaque:
journeytothewestresearch.com/2017/05/17/sun-wukong-and-the-rhesus-macaque/
And Rhesus Macaques have golden eyes, so that is probably why the author had Sun Wukong get golden eyes!
I don’t think this really goes over what he is he could have just got all his powers from his staff
I believe in season 3, MK said he thought his powers came from the staff, but Sun Wukong said that is not true 👀
This is a video I made where I explain how the Six Eared Macaque and Sun Wukong are portrayed as two parts of the same mind in Journey to the West:

Sùn wu Kong?
Sorry, what's your question? :)
Hm yeah that makes senses
Maybe Wukong was scared that the creature that was gonna come out of the rock was gonna be more stronger and powerful then him. And also we know that mk is not Wukong's real father since Nuwä was the one who made him. Nuwä might be his mother or something. I hope we will see nuwä in the new season, and know mk's past.
Maybe nuwä will be in a human form and will help mk. I would like to see that.
@@Mxri73565 I would like to see her snake form though lol.
what if mk is nuha's son?
I mean, if Nüwa created him then I guess he would be her son 👀
I mean what if mk was abandoned by his creator
Yeah that's definitely a possibility!
His clone formed to an egg before becoming and actual clone
Perhaps! Hopefully there is a full explanation next season! 👀
