I am also wondering what would have happened with a true pillow paint. Dude I can't wait for the update haha.

I’d be interested to know the best methods to get rid of paint water after you wash out your paint bottles, brushes, sponges and water cup. What is the greenest method to rinse out all of those bottles that we use to store mixed up paints. If you could give us some ideas of how to be more green with disposal of art waste. Thank you so much for all you’ve shared with us.

Hey David, I’ve got an experiment for you if you’re looking for some ideas. I’ve been researching how to make American floetrol more like its beloved Australian counterpart. While pretty much everyone agrees on minwax wood conditioner, some swear by the oil based while others love the water based. Maybe you could do a video using both and showing us what differences you encounter. You could do just some regular pours and then do some swipe tests for cells? I love your experiments and how you explain things, you always make things click for me. So, the very first search I did in my confusion was “left brained artist and minwax in Floetrol” and sadly it didn’t come up with any matching results (besides the varnishing ty btw). Just thought I’d share my thoughts. Thank you again for such detail in your explanations, you are my favorite fluid art channel for learning, you make it make sense. ❤
Hi David! I'm Brazilian and I'm in love with fluid painting and its works. But unfortunately here in Brazil we don't have these wonderful products. Hi, I love your videos. I am in the Uk and have followed Erica Hughes because she has bought her stuff from UK shops. I have bought the exact same stuff she uses and my paint is sinking and all I get is white cells because the colours drops to the bottom. Its driving me mad and I want to cry. Spent a shed load of money and I even received my aussie floetrol today. Super excited to try and my paint still sinks. It starts good and I think I have cracked it and in seconds it all sinks leaving white cells and no colour. Determined to get this right but I am so frustrated I can’t sleep. HELP!!!! Liz

How did it dry? I have had problems when it dries. It will loose the cells and distort a lot of times. Looks great wet but looks crappy when dried. Do you have that problem?
I didn't on this piece. It dried great. Normally that is because there is too much paint on the canvas or the paint was too thin to begin with but without seeing I am just guessing here.
Hi David, just dropped by to say hi, and say I just stopped painting it's been three months and I just have no desire to paint. Having skimmed over the instructions, briefly read the tips, ignored the if only I knew this when I started video, and went straight to the pour... a frustrating start with about 20 useless pics... no sweat, things can only get better... So I used up all my paint, and frustratingly had to wait for more, and also some silicon (£8), and medium (£17 per litre), I soon realised this is an expensive hobby. So no choice but to start using PVA glue, bought 2x5L for £12, but used up all the paint in 2 pics, still crap. So.. I then bought 6 Litres of acrylic paint for £50, with pumps (love the pumps). So off I go making lots of crap pictures, struggling to get cells, and realised you can't get more cells by adding more silicon (skimmed the instructions remember). Also I lost anything good as most of the paint runs off over night and the mess I am making is unbelievable! So... watched a bunch of your videos, on consistency, and different mix ratios, levelling up, cut down on the silicon, stole the scales from the kitchen, and what a difference! Increased the ratio from 50/50 to 33 paint/66 medium, and a little water where needed, and now I can't stop the cells! Also went to the pound shop and bought 20 canvasses for £10, and a load of plate coasters for a pound each. I am still finding my way, but after trying desperately to get cells, now I am doing the opposite and trying to lose them. I love the split cups, and also got some neon pink which just pops off the canvas when used with black and blue. So anyway, thank you hugely for the videos, I would have given up by now if I hadn't watched them. I have a question.. when I see big black spot appearing, which just gets bigger and bigger, is there any way to stop it in its tracks?
Black spots? Can you send me a picture? leftbrainedartist.com/contact I can't put my email directly here or the BOTs will get it and start spamming me.
@@LeftBrainedArtist Thanks for replying. I have spent the evening thinking about it, and remembering what you said about cleaning the old pics before using them again due to old silicon. Also, I have been a bit chaotic with my regime, using up paint left in cups which might have had a lot of silicon in. So, using a split cup, I didn't want too many cells. I think I might have thinned the paint just too much, and I might be a little enthusiastic with the flame, but sometimes a black or muddy hole appears and over the course of the next few hours, grows to a couple of inches. I have tried to soften the edges by swirling a toothpick across it, which kind of works. I will try and take a pic later if it happens. I wish there was a way to 'fix' them when I am happy with it, but I am learning that less is good when tilting and settling, as it then starts to 'develop' and gets more defined, and then the cells start and it muddies the pic. But if anyone else is reading this, it is exciting when see the artist start throwing paint down and out of nothing an amazing picture appears, but it is nothing to actually doing it yourself. I can't get enough and am totally obsessed with it, for now anyway.

Too much paint or too thick of paint normally causes the cracks. Temperature while drying is less of a reason.
