Bonjour les filles ! Call it "visiting the bleu house" ! Love it ! I also love the bleu bedroom. The kitchen floor with the vibrant orange is so original as the metro tiles all over it gives a vib of vacation, therefore I love it. The patio where you had a drink is really inviting and the view, at the end, of the patio with the lounge chairs is gorgeous ! Another treat for the eyes, a little bleu gem ! Merci c'était une superbe visite !

Love everything about it! The use of color is flawless.
1:11 What an entrance, love the formal garden and the way the blue on the entrance gate echoes on the front door and shutters! The lavendar really ties the look together. Fab design! 1:48, 2:48 nice artwork, not technically great but the colours tie it all together! 5:49 very clever, looks fantastic the way all the fabric ties together but personally I wouldn't want to sleep in it as it's quite strong. Love the designers' eye though, wonderful talent!

Susanna you are so gracious and a delightful guest in all the homes you visit. You have a knack for pointing out the interesting focal points in every room. This home is finished and decorated to a "T." Beautiful ! To think it is just a summer cottage is hard to believe. But I would like to borrow their gardener and painter for a season. Their work is outstanding. It is nice to see that some of the people you visit are also good friends ! Happy Travels !

Blue and orange are my aesthetic also. The first project in my new old house was to have the wall going up the stairs papered in Thibaut Sulu. Three years later it still brings me joy every time I look at it. Also, I had to pause this video while I ordered two of your books. Can't wait to throw myself into them this weekend on the beach!

Can I just say WOW for the bedroom?? I think it is exquisite! I love the orange tiled floor in the glossy kitchen! How much fun can you get with that color?? I also LOVED the wooden basket for the silverware! I could spend all summer in the outdoor shower and not ever miss showering indoors for the season.. Stunningly beautiful in a not so fussy way, so comfortable feeling. I think this vid is one of my faves! Thanks for sharing.

My dream is to buy a house on Chebeague [Maine] and I have been designing it out in my mind since the 90’s…I am so in love with orange and blue but his pulling of those greens in…ooo la la.

Beautiful garden, like the idea of hydrangeas surrounding the house. That makes a perfect summer holiday homes with a burst of vibrant colours. However, I belong to the category of hating the ‘Dynamo’ detergent blue coloured bedroom. Otherwise, it gives me many ideas of making my yard interesting with all the ‘little things’. Thanks Susanna.

I LOVE THIS! Gary McBournie is an American treasure, on par with Billy Baldwin(rip). Not so coincidentally, both created Nantucket interiors. The island attracts eclectic artisans.

I really like the outdoor bathroom, oh to shower under the open sky. I like the blue frame on the mirror in the living room, but not the sputnik light. The dog is really sweet.
Bold and beautiful, inside and out. Oh, GOD! Those hydrangeas!!!! That garden!!! Tell me there are peonies somewhere on the property and I'm moving in!

I dig what they did with the living area especially, the artwork, rug and stunning, glossy Italian mirror as a feature and focal point, give it a vibrant, chic 1960s Euro-retro feel. The drapery pattern in the bedroom is a little much for me, but love the bold blue and it would be easy to change it up and soften the look if you wanted, with different drapes.

After seeing a photo of the guest bedroom in a previous Nantucket home that they owned, I went out and bought the same bed linens that he used, painted the furniture white, wallpapered my bedroom in blue and white ticking stripes and hung semi sheer white curtains in the windows. I’ve moved a couple of times since then but I always end up with a blue and white bedroom, very often with orange accent pieces.
LOVE reading this that you found inspiration from Gary and made it your own!
Love this home. The colors are absolutely preppy New England. So tired of the plain gray and white palettes in most homes. I personally need color surrounding me to feel happy and alive. Great decor and episode.
