I"m a vegetarian but one thing I believe and resonate with is that native cultures utilized as much of the part of the animal hunted, in every way possible. that is so important if one is hunting. Thanks your valued wisdom and spirit.
When it comes to hunting and gathering my people who have wisdom and have passed down that line of tradition to those and teach the ignorant who has had karma happened to them. In history we thank our kill and resources. We believe the land, forest water have spirits and should be respected as well as the animals and plants when living and after death. This is so unviersal the more i learn about other cultures, very beautiful.
Absolutely I exercise my traditional hunting rights. I teach my sons. We have a motto that we live by when harvesting medicine as well as food. "Take what you need, not what you want"
Yes, and in the same way. Utilize everything. Appreciate what each harvest brings. Never trophy hunt but try to keep the population of all species healthy. Thanks for the video.
I love eating wild game, and love the traditional ways of my ancestors, I have Creek, Cherokee, and Seminole ancestry. I believe it is vital that native American traditions still be passed on to our children,so that our ancestral ways keep going, for without our past and understanding of our past, the future is lost...!!!!
If you would like to see a shrine made by your ancestors checkout my channel I made a video showing a mississippian shrine to the underworld panther God that's around my families land, its a big rock bluff with red paintings and 2 caves
This might be corny but I gained insight on Native American culture from a video game lol (Red Dead Redemption 2) and wanted to learn more about the history and wisdom of Native Americans, it’s so fascinating and beautiful
Went fishing today with my son (first time since when I was a teenager) and was looking exactly for what you mentioned about gratitude. Thank you so much. I come from a place where people have a lot of respect and admiration for native American culture. Subscribed right away. I wish you success in preserving your culture and language. Some eople think English is enough but no English speaker has built a pyramid like the Maya or Egyptian. And these civilizations had plans, written with their own language. Thanks again for this video. Do you also have a shorter version for this one? I have students who are used to 3-5mn videos, whom I'd love to share your content with 🙏
Hi Stéphane, thank you so much for your kind words. That really means a lot to us. 💖And thank you for subscribing, we do have more videos about the Native Culture that you can check out. 😊
The hunting be it on the plains, mountains, hills, forests, rain forests, jungles, woods, wild, deserts, cliffs, rocks, boulders, beaches, river banks, waterfalls, springs, trees, logs, branches, farm lands, corn fields, regular fields, oceans, rivers, lakes, ponds, lagoons, swamps, or canyons takes lots of tracking skills
I like the fishing technique of planting saplings in the water and just taking the fish that swim in to the little trap it makes. No rods, no bait, just go down to the river, close off your sapling trap and take whatever fish you want. Easy peezy, Wendigo squeezy.

@@MalloryRoseCo no problem, we really don't know who to tell about this site but a scientist from Washington University came and took a bunch of pics and said it was a shrine to the underwater panther God (horned serpent in certain tribes)
Hey Tribal Trade Co , I was wondering if Mallory practices the tradition of hunting and if she hunted deer like the Anishnaabemowin tribe or practices any of the fishing techniques 🤷♂️ I think a lot of us who buy Tribal Trade Co (such as myself I LOVE my new moccasins!) would be interested in that information! Or even some pictures of her hunt! Thanks again!
Is not native Americans on horse back cultural appropriation ? A common way of killing buffalo was to run a herd of a cliff , so how do you use a hundred buffalo before they spoil?

Yes! My community in Northern Ontario is lakefront. Fish are a big part of our diet, same with deer, moose, bear.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏽

I feel conflicted as an indigenous vegetarian
Don’t be. I am a vegetarian as well. I have a very mixed ancestry including Cherokee.
