And he showed up in so many other shows other than the Flip Wilson show. I love that they stuck cameos of other stars in their shows, like they did with Peter Graves on this one. That little extra "oomph" added to the entertainment!
Carol Burnett and Flip Wilson, my two favorite comedians of all time. And they didn't need foul language to be funny. Never missed an episode of their shows.😂😂
Nostalgia. It's funny how watching Carol Burnett, brings back fond memories of sitting in front of the T.V. and family gathered around. My dad had such a robust laugh and I can still hear his laugher right now!! We all enjoyed to watch the Flip Wilson show too! Thanks for sharing :)
Yes Hee Haw!!! Thank you for that special memory too. Those times were the best for TV and life! I don't enjoy this world anymore. Everyone's so sad. Anyway....Thanks a bunch. God bless you ❤️🙏🤗

So many "firsts" back in those days when they should have happened long before. We also loved Mission Impossible! But, Carol Burnett will always be special to our family because she brought so much joy and laughter. Loved her in Annie too! She is a national treasure.

I grew up watching the Carol Burnett Show & The Flip Wilson show. These shows are rare, they don’t make them like this anymore. I still watch the Carol Burnett Show on the station MeTV and I’ve noticed that they don’t play the full episodes. But that’s ok, I’ll settle for what they do show🙂
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED Flip Wilson when I was little!! I watched all the greats at that time, as they all had their own shows or specials on TV.......Phyllis Diller, Jonathan Winters, Flip Wilson, Carol Burnett............love them all!
@@billbowers268 Oh for sure. Miss all that great comedy. And also the Dean Martin Roasts.. Lol! funny as hell.. Nowadays people are far too thin skinned for that
@@billbowers268 This is absolutely, demonstrably untrue. Just look at the outtakes from this very same show. Tim Conway tells a story about elephants having sex, to which Vicky Laurence drops an obscenity, and they all collapse into laughter, along with the audience. At the same time as this show, one of the most popular, if not the most popular, comedy albums was George Carlin's "7 Dirty Words," which is filled with swearing, and people loved it. There is nothing innocent about this comedy, the only reason they weren't swearing on TV here is because the censors wouldn't let them. You're living in a fantasy world where "the past was better and the present is awful." No. The past was the past, and the present is the present.
What a WELCOME reminder of my childhood. I remember watching Carol Burnett every Saturday night, laughing as they tried not to laugh. And the songs, I was singing along. I am SO GRATEFUL to have lived during that era
That was so hilarious when Flip Wilson disguised as Geraldine came on stage and started to flirt with Greg Morris. Greg Morris couldn't stop laughing. 😅😅😅
They kept making these shows, and making these shows, and making these shows for years and years and years. I never got tired of Carol Burnett, Lyle Wagner, Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, and especially FLIP WILSON! Flip was the absolute best!
I adored her brand of comedy. She had such a great ensemble..I really loved Harvey Corman..he would get tickled about something and try to keep a straight face, sometimes he would turn his head but you could see his shoulders moving, as he struggled to contain his laughter. They must have had great times during rehearsals. I miss these type of variety shows, and Flip Wilson was underrated, he created some great characters on his show, I miss Flip Wilson.
Carol took a real chance on her since she had just graduated from high school and wrote a fan letter to Carol but had no real acting experience, but her talent grew exponentially on the show. She mentored under Carol and Harvey Korman. If you watch the shows chronologically you can see her growth.
I used to love The Carol Burnett Show. We all watched it. Television was different back then, so was entertainment and music. The variety show concept was very entertaining. It was a different era. One that I much prefer.
I wish, I could live in LA, California at that time. Maybe in the summer. My Aunt said back then, you could party, sit and talk, hangout with stars in Hollywood. Todays entertainers not so much.
