laowhy86 l highly doubt that people would actually enjoy this video if part of the cast are not professional at all yet biases. Obviously we are talking about these 2 woman, they all about bad mouthing mainland girls which is quite unfair.. l have seen tons of Hong Kong girls THROW themselves at foreign mans in HONGKONG. which is very stupid! and deep down they love money more than any kind of race. Obviously HK being a British colony has been introduced to modern western values such as careerism and feminism for longer than China, which was almost entirely isolated from the rest of the world until fairly recently. Thus if we want to stereotype, HK is more infected by individualism, materialism and feminism, while the rest of China is more traditional and family oriented.

Most hk ppl, like me, probably search in google with English as it is more common to do so (and google is definitely the most popular search engine), but mainland girls/mainlanders in general probably use Chinese search terms with different search engines, like baidu.

Ironic part... vivi won at the end. In the end... i think it is more about the city level, because the higher her own ego, the bigger of a bitch she becomes. HK has money, so there are a lot of girls that use thier body to get what they want. In Shanghai it is just the same...
And childish? both are... i cant really think about a girl from both citys that i know that doesnt want to be cute and is not having a teddy or any other plush animal in her room. I mean.. its a sea is plush stuff!
Oh.. and what is a traditional HK girl? A british one? One that works for a bank? I dont think that you can say that HK has such a long history that you can say that something is "traditional"

The mainland girls will claim to be more traditional because it means (in their minds) better girl, more money(aka a dowry), they can live at home( a perceived more relaxing life), and various other reasons for face. The dream of marrying a rich man and changing ones own life is a constant factor with some, thus why the Hong Kong boy thought mainland woman to be very nice to him.
ps. It was a good choice to use google as your reference because otherwise the opinion would just be discredited by 'your an outsider'.
In future videos of this type i'd like to see perhaps more people, perhaps an even panel, say 3 verse 3.

A great topic! Really enjoy UR channel. Great mix of objectivity and humor.
Okay. I’m going to try and add my experiences with Mainland and HK girls, though think U should refer to women. These are more serious.
I am white and my "老婆 (lăopó) wife is from Chongqing and later Guangzhou. I also have 2 Chinese daughters. Worked extensively in the Mainland and also in HK, Singapore, and Malaysia. Over this time I had 5 Chinese girlfriends, one HK.
Traits, characteristics. Generalized and maybe some considered stereotypes. Realize that there are differences between women born during and after the Cultural Revolution with significant changes occurring with the current generation of younger women. There are differences between rural and urban women not taken into account here.
    1. Inner strength, resourceful, and stubborn. Due in large part to the extreme ordeals they and their families experienced during the Cultural Revolution. Most Westerners don’t get it. Not so much with HK women.
    2. Dedicated to the family at all costs. This is decreasing with the current generation as many decide to place their parents and extended family in retirement communities and nursing homes. Also in HK.
    3. Food. Love food, can’t get enough. Had little growing up. Always taking pictures of food. HK loves food just as much, and Cantonese maybe is the best food on the planet!
    4. Love expressed through food. A pot-bellied husband is a sign of love. I like thin, and my wife has been lectured a number of times by family why she isn’t taking good care of me! Still see this in HK.
    5. Style. Atrocious. Many try to copy Western style. Have had to take a second look. This isn’t real! HK women are stylish and in tune with the latest fashion.
    6. Love taking pictures of themselves, and can’t get away from including the V fingers. Don’t see this often with HK women.
    7. Poor public education and narrow college education focused on career courses, little liberal arts, and social sciences. HK, superior public and college education. No hobbies, little interests.
    8. Disconnected from the outside world with little knowledge of history, culture, and history of their own country. Don’t like to read but very active in social media, but careful what they say. Will often refute truth. HK more worldly and knowledgeable.
    9. More superstitious than they will admit. Believe in odd health conditions, interactions not supported by traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Of major concern is that older women are not very knowledgable of their reproductive systems. Opposite of HK.
    10. Will not consider divorce even when the husband is verbally and physically abusive, though this is now changing. More divorce, women’s rights Mainland and HK.
    11. Still are subservient to men. U will still see women walking behind their husbands and children, particularly boys. This is deeply culturally rooted and influenced by the one-child policy (now 2 Child). Men like to hire young, pretty women for their business even if they are not qualified. My sister-in-law started an advertising company in GZ and has gone through hell as a professional women to keep it going. Easier to be a professional in HK.
    12. Into material stuff, including particular brands like Nike, Levi, Coach, Apple. The newer generation is addicted to money, and will many times walk over anyone who get’s into their path. Forget ethics.
    13. Things must be new. Anything used is not good, and could be inhabited by the spirits of the previous owner’s.
    14. Intimacy and sex. My experiences have run the gamut from little intimacy and interest in sex (uncomfortable), to wild and crazy. Generally little to no sex education, but this is changing with the younger generation. HK girlfriend was knowledgeable and more open.
I can add a few others, but these are my experiences (noting generalizations), so please don’t criticize me. Most Westerners have very skewed perceptions about Chinese women. The culture and the role of women in it, is complex and has evolved over centuries. As a collective society, values and attitudes are different, and it’s essential that U understand this if considering developing friendships and relationships.
With that, I am blessed to have a Chinese wife (and her love), children, and family, and cannot conceive of a life and living without them.

hong kong is insignificant in terms of population compared with china. when it comes to negative news and bad people, China always has a large number. Put is this way, you compare 10,000 bad people and 10 bad people, which group do you think will do more bad things?

    • @queueoverflow
      @queueoverflow 8 лет назад +1

stop doing science, when you do it this way, there is always somebody pops up and criticizes. I'd like you to share some real stories. You went to hong kong, you met a girl... and went to china and you met another girl... You have been to both places. You have your feelings. Tell us what you think. I do not expect you to be accurate.

I compare the percentage of people, that you can meet abroad. And just can tell from their behaviour from a distance, before you get to find out the truth where they actually grew up, who their parents are and where they studied and live at the moment. There is a huge difference between the 2 groups. Even for men. Or when you are hanging out with them. Mainland Chinese , are mainland Chinese. I actually do agree with the research, that is what I would expect, for as far as I have observed for now. Fast forward 5 years from now, it can be different.

Such an interesting video, and quite fun. When I lived in the Bay Area of San Francisco back in '98-'99, I worked with a young woman from Hong Kong. I made the mistake referring her as Chinese; she flipped. These were her exact words that have been ingrained in my memory: "There are Hong Kong people and China-people! Big difference!!"
    Yes, she said China-people.

Wing is a total 11/10, like beyond my ideal of the perfect female form.
Wow, mind blown. I've seen a lot of women on the internet in my days, and I can comfortably say she is the most attractive.
Seriously a shocker, I've never had a reaction like this before... jeez

Yeah, 100% seriously. Just as much true watching the video now.
I will admit though... Her face, even her smile and hair is almost doppelganger-tier with my wife. So I may be heavily bias, but I think that's just my type? Also Wing's laugh and personality are eerily similar, and I find my wife extremely endearing to her core.

My gf just taught me "港女", and expressed how she would never yell at me in public...I think this is more of a female thing rather than mainland/hk. There are plenty of western girls who are total biao's. But I always love to generalize it makes things more fun.
Loved the video, interesting with other ppl making guest appearances, very hao, very 哇!

Ok the Hongkongnese is to shy to say something.
Actually i do not know Hongkong Girls, so no idea about there behavior.I just can guess because of the english influence.
Mainland Chinese Girls are Material focused, selfish, unpunctual, in total a little lag of good behavior ( but not all of them ) envious on other Girls. And Schanghaineese think there are princesses and the most of them are spoiled.
    Mainland chinese girls are helpful.
Hongkong Chinese Girls are more independent, better behavior, not so Money based, not so selfish.
But all chinese Girls are real feminin and beautiful. They like to laugh and can be very funny.
    I really like them.
And Mandarin is such a beautiful language.A pity i never find the time to learn it.

It's a business City, but Citys like Shanghai or Beijing are the same Money Focused. And overall this is just a big Show off.Look who i'am ! Big Cars, Brands, Big Apartments.that's the only things what count for the most. They let their moral or better they changed their moral in money.
But you could be right, my experience about Hongkong is less.I only know they much more organized than the Mainland and behave much better.

It's really fun to scroll through the comments...you can see most of the insulting comments, (especially those written in Chinese )on Hong Kong girls from a mainlander's perspective, yet you hardly see any hongkongers leaving insulting comments against mainland Chinese girls. I think that says a lot about the difference between the two.
