The land's prime enough for redevelopment anyway. Shame to demolish a state-of-the-art AAA-level minor league ballpark, but once a MLB-level facility, intended to house the A's, gets built, Las Vegas Ballpark no longer has a function. It's not near UNLV to be repurposed as a dedicated ballpark for them and too large for even a Division I college baseball program. The area has plenty of other economic activity that even the cost of demolition (probably a lot of useful equipment that can be salvaged) won't pose too much of a cost burden.

Las Vegans will continue to support the Aviators and you'll see that local attendance at Las Vegas Ballpark will be higher than at the new strip ballpark. It gets hot at LV Ballpark but it's a higher elevation and once the Sun goes down, it's fine. Locals do not go to the strip except for work or when friends are in town. Sure, most locals will, at some point during the first 2 seasons, check out a game at the strip stadium but with the rare exception of events, free tickets or similar, locals will not travel to the strip for a team they don't want and to spend quadruple the money to get less than they do at their beloved Aviators home. The A's primary attendance will come from tourists and when locals attend a concert or event. Las Vegas Ballpark will not become obsolete.

I agree with most. But I disagree with Miami because if i'm not mistaken the stadium will be used or is going to be used by some colleges for football, and high schools in the area. Honestly if a female soccer team starts playing in Miami it would be an ideal venue. Chase field in Arizona gets massive use for the WBC and also the spring leagues. Arizona and Miami have a lot of stadiums for use in the spring pre season and this is one of the few stadiums that gets used. So there is already plenty of use for the stadium outside of the Diamondbacks. And finally las Vegas new Athletics stadium. There is already a AAA stadium in las vegas (also mind you very very pretty) that is outdoors. So the fact that the new stadium is being built in Las Vegas isn't something new. However, it should probably get limited use during peak summer hours due to the weather. It should be indoors similar to the Diamondback Stadium, and i know the renders have it as outdoors, but we'll see.

The biggest problem with Chase Field in Phoenix, and this is from a former Dbacks season ticket holder, is politics. Maricopa County and Dbacks' ownership have been arguing, in and out of court, over the wording in the documents that established a sports authority district and which entity was responsible for maintenance and upgrades. They can expand to fit more seats if needed, but the diamondbacks average roughly 20,000 per game, so it would really just be a waste of money for them to go much bigger. The MLB doesn’t even attract the same kind of attendance that NFL and NBA teams can garner, therefore you can kind of get away with having an older, out of date ball park, hence dodger stadium, wrigley field, even Fenway, which actually has a smaller capacity than chase field

What? How do you define livable? Las eve has has an extremely hot desert climate. It was never livable until widespread air conditioning was common. How would it not be live able in the future if it was never livable to begin with? Also lake mead is not drying up anymore. That drought has ended. And why does it matter how hot Vegas is when everyone is just inside the entire time anyway? It’s not like Las Vegas has ever had a livable climate to begin with, same with phoenix. They have ac, and so people will continue to live there. It doesn’t matter how hot they are, they are still some of the fastest growing cities in the country. This isn’t India. 50 c is no different from what they already have. And why are you using Celsius? This is America.

What a dumb take. It’s basically confirmed that Vegas will have a team in all 4 sports by 2030.

Ironically, that stadium is next to and was built at the same time as PNC Park, one of the best stadiums in Major League Baseball.
