How do you build a mailing list? Just from a qr code on inside? You can't get access to emails like you can on Etsy for example. I have explainer videos for one of my pen names so I capture them that way. But what other ways do you have?
My puzzle book journey started today as I released ‘Clueless Snakeword’ puzzle books! Keywords is critical as no one has heard of Snakeword yet and won’t be typing it in. I have ordered a copy of one of mine for A+ content. Thank you for the video, great content!
Thank you! Honestly, as someone who can't afford many ads, I came away both inspired and discouraged, but as I am addicted to book creation and design... Knowledge is power, so I appreciate the information.
@@SeanDollwet I have been testing ads for about 5 days now, but am not seeing any result. It's not showing the clicks, amount spent or anything. It's just there. What do you think I can do here please?
Great breakdown of this brand. When I publish medium content books, like coloring books, I also find it helpful to advertise them as soon as they are live and find that you can achieve a good bsr relatively quickly and a good acos eventually. And I agree with you that with sales come reviews which brings down acos and keeps bsr lower. Thanks for another great video
Great class! I see lots and tons of work that the authors put into the books. The quality is inmense and really great. No wonder why they make such a great revenue with so little. Doesn't matter if you books are low to high content, it's the quality of the content which makes it great. Thank you so much for this class and the reasearch Sean!
I've noticed this brand too. I'm not sure how they managed such consistently low bsrs in such a small amount of time, but you're analysis makes sense. Thanks!
another great video. It would be cool if you made a video where you made a puzzle book start to finish using Book Bolt! I have watched a few videos, but they are not really comprehensive
Could you do a video on how many Author page can we have because I want to know if I could separate my low content books from my high content books. I don’t want all of them to be on the same authors page
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom, I’ve learned so much from watching you. I was curious as to what a good starting budget for running ads on Amazon would be?
I appreciate the information and am probably going to do you training. But I have a question: for the same month this publisher generated $29,000+ in Revenue, do we know what their expenses were? I’m all about advertising, but if it costs me $30,000 in advertising to generate $29,000 in Revenue, that doesn’t work. Thanks.
This is great! I was questioning what I should do with my reviews but this gave me a turning point. One of my very old old old old books got a low review and I was wondering what I should do with it. Now I know. It’s an old book and I improved a lot since then so I’ll be changing it to make it better
Is there a tool to demonstrate what key words this brand used? Could you cover how to optimise an ad strategy then on those key words - love the straightforward delivery , makes it all look very possible - thank you for that.
This was a great video. Thank you so much for sharing. Would you do a video on the advertising strategy for launching a low content such as a Puzzle book thank you. Looking forward to it.
I very much doubt their making $29,623. Because KDSpy show the total of book sales. It does not the actual show the profit after printing and advertising costs. The actually profit for 1000 books will actually be about $2 = $2000. Now once your include advertising costs the final profit might be something like around $1000. They have to make $10,000 worth of sales from 1 book to make around $1000. Now you have take cost of making the book too. Looking at quality of book. I doubt they made that muct profit yet! So before saying look at this person making all this money! You need to show what their actual profit margin is, please?
Hey Sean! Great video as always:) I wanted to ask you what you think about Pubby. I keep hearing from people in self-publishing related facebook groups that some of them are getting their kdp account terminated. In the email they receive it says that they are using "manipulative services" and that's why their account is terminated. Those people are all saying that they've been using ONLY Pubby and nothing else for getting reviews. What are your thoughts on that? Have you ever tried writing to Amazon directly and asking them if Pubby is fine?
Thank you for this vedio, please I have a question: is there any problem if just change the color of background of a cover and use it for an other (this is in notebook and the same niche same quote)
Awesome Sean! Thank you! I have a subscription to book beam through your link. How do you tell when someone started running ads? Was it the yellow line in the graph in the example you showed us? Also, is there a way to tell how much a competitor is spending on ads? How do we know how much to spend on ads to compete with our competitors? Thanks again! This was very, very insightful!
Does anyone know what is the CPA (cost per sales) if we need to put ads on the books? if there is no this figures, hard to know whether the sales figures is reasonable. As a e-shop owner, I know that pay ads may not really pay out even there is sales.
Do you find that book beam or publisher rocket is more accurate with keyword monthly search volumes? I'm getting big discrepancies between publisher rocket and book beam when it comes to monthly search volumes for the exact same keywords. What could this difference mean? Thank you, thank you! 🙏
This is somewhat misleading. The "revenue" of $29,623 is NOT author revenue, that is the amount from Amazon sales. The author gets royalties from Amazon, not the full sales price, which for these types of books are unlikely to be more than say $2.50 per book.
I imagine there are other factors such as social influences of all sorts. I see they sell Bible-related books and those could be "anchor books" and have a large built-in cult draw and that might also benefit the other books. Look at Amway...you can't miss with cult types.
I have yet to find a single adult who has bought coloring books, journals or planners for themselves. I don't know a single adult. Who are these people? In the day and age of mobile, ipads, who is buying these things.

No sales in the UK, barely any in Canada. 2 books in the top 10k in the USA, probably making about 2/3 dollars a book. There's absolutely zero chance that's 29K in USD a month. Be aware kids: the only purpose of these tools/gurus is to make money off YOU, not for you to make money. Delivering false hope.
I clearly say multiple times that it’s “revenue”, which means 29k in total sales. Not profit/royalty. Even if they’re not actually making 29k, they’re still absolutely crushing it with very few books and reviews which is the main point of the video. Not everything is a conspiracy theory dude

It means that there are a total of 3600 words to find, spread across all the word searches inside the book.
This might be a silly question but I’m pretty new here, who and what cost is it to print these books to ship them out? Or are they all digital books?
Amazon KDP does the printing and the shipping and for a certain amount above that cost (you decide), you do the design and content
