Not everyday you see a container train in San Diego... Caught a BNSF military train and other movements, including the Del Mar block and Amtrak 782 with whistle failure. All filmed in Sorrento Valley in August 2019.
Thanks for Watching!

Poor 7724! That thing has graffiti all over it! 7776 and a few other BNSF locos near that number have that problem too I think.
It's actually not an intermodal, it is a container train. Here's some reasons why intermodal and container trains are different. #1 the train cars. Intermodal cars are well cars, but container train cars are just regular flat cars. #2 the containers. intermodal containers are usually stacked, some of it is one stacked, but container trains have just on stack. #3 the routes. Intermodal trains go on the mainlines but sometimes branch lines. But container trains go on the branch lines and sometime the mainlines. (Please read all)
An actual container train! I'm shocked. May be the first train with containers on this line--other than the now-defunct circus train--in at least 20 years.
Nice Catches!
What a shocker for intermodal, San Diego did not complain about this huh.
I'm soooo mad i missed like 10 of these >:XXX
3:45 OMG that horn
Nice catch! I caught the military stack at Carlsbad Village
Nice catches Chris
The Stack train is probably Memphis bound
Yeah sometimes San Diego sends out a Stack Train, Tagged S-SDGMEM and sometimes it also receives guaranteed service intermodals from Pier A at Long Beach, or at least it used to
@@soarinskies1105 that was just a pure guess but I never actually noticed that till today, how often are these and are the containers just on flat cars the whole trip? Or are well cars added as well
@@itsyaboiradargaming4377 There hasn't been a train with well cars originating from San Diego (or headed there) since the '90s.
