    Is it better to open a ghost kitchen or retail location? It seems like a ghost kitchen would be more profitable and give more flexibility and can be turned off whenever you want where a retail location has to be open all of the time?

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Год назад

      Yep - you're right on point there! The benefits of starting your own brand with a LOW start up cost can be seen in the first video interview, which I'll link below my comment. But once you've built a strong brand with amazing drinks, you can then easily shop your brand around town and keep reaping the rewards through franchising and licensing. Seems like a win win! 🤣

    My dad owns a convenient store and I added paninis to it which was a success and now want to add boba. I’m just confused about where to buy the powered and bobas I have been trying to learn recipes from you but still struggling on how to set prices and all hopefully I can do this 😅.

      Cool 😎
      Best to do a Google search for "Bubble Tea Supplies" and enter your country or state name... Surely something will come up and you can start from there. Good luck 😇

    Could you please go over information on how someone could learn to make drinks and experiment with recipes before opening a shop? Thank you!

      Great suggestion. I've added it to my notes for future video question ideas.
      I think that many clients of mine actually bought my recipes packet from my website, bought the needed supplies, and practiced for a week before opening.
      They already had the recipes they got from me, and watched all my instruction videos on RUclips, and opened up shop.😁

    I've watched basically all of your owner interviews and it is really interesting to see how all the people that you've interviewed come have diverse ethnic backgrounds. where I live, the large majority and nearly all bubble tea shops are owned by Chinese people and their main demographics are asian people and specifically Chinese people by having their menus written in both English and Chinese.
    I was wondering if there are shops like this in the us and UK and in what proportion they are to each other (non-chinese to Chinese owned shops). also, do you find that asian people are more gravitated to shops with asian owners and staff and why that might be?

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Год назад

      Hello 🤣 I totally understand where you're coming from. It's interesting because in the UK, back in 2015 when I started my first shop, I was the only Non-Asian (or we say in the UK Non-Chinese) owner. Asian usually refers to Indian decent... but with that being said, it can also mean middle eastern or other areas. It's all very confusing sometimes. 🤣 Anyways... my point is simply that yes. It started off the same way, but as other people and cultures found out about boba, loved it just as much, and realised that they too could own a bubble tea shop either personally or through a franchise, then the ball started rolling and every type of person from every walk of life now owns one somewhere over here. Same in the US.
      SO... if you want to perhaps get into owning your own bubble tea shop one day... be the first! Like I was! If I can do it, you can do it too! All the best to you! :)

    Great video! I have a question about the syrups I have noticed a lot of shops using both the big 2.5 Kg bottle syrups and Monin syrups and I was wondering if you know why? Are brands like Monin usually have better syrups than what a bubble tea supplier offers? Thank you Kristin

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  Год назад +1

      Hello Nouhaila, That's a great question that I get asked a lot.
      Ultimately it comes down to your own personal preference, but also your price point. Monin will be more expensive: price per ounce or price per milliliter. Whereas bubble tea syrup because, it comes in a larger container and specifically for bubble tea products and will be less expensive.
      The other thing to take into consideration is the flavor profile. A lot of Monin type products are made for coffee drinks and the coffee undertones.
      This is why I like to use Routin 1883 syrups if I am using something similar, because their products can be used for both tea-based products and coffee-based drinks.
      I think the majority of bubble tea shops benefit from using either housemade syrups, their own blended recipes of fruits and flavors, or actual bubble tea syrups.
      I also find that when using products like Monin, you don't have any control over the sweetness level and combining flavors can be trickier.
      Hope this helps.🙏🏼
