There's a New Ride at Legoland Florida -- Pirate River Quest!

Legoland Florida has opened a new ride in the Cypress Gardens section of the park. Pirate River Quest takes guests on a 20 minute boat ride through the canal in Cypress Gardens and out on the large Lake Eloise that borders Legoland. Help Captain Redbeard find his lost treasure to break the curse.
This ride is very slow and mild, but children under 6 are required to wear lifejackets, as you are on a real boat being driven by a "pirate", without a track. We came across 2 civilian boats on our way back to the dock, so the lake portion of the ride is also used by people not affiliated with Legoland.
While we were there, they had 4 boats in use, and though the line seemed very short, it still took us about 35 minutes to get onto a boat. The wait time said 90 minutes, however, so at least we didn't have to actually wait that long. Older kids probably won't enjoy this ride. Our boys are 9 and 10 and thought it was pretty boring, but younger kids should enjoy counting the gemstones and finding the golden bricks. I'm glad Legoland is bringing back a portion of Cypress Gardens, since most probably didn't even know that beautiful garden was back there. If you've never walked through Cypress Gardens, it's a must! There's an amazing banyan tree that your kids will love!
