Wow, you almost had me with the "orchestra" gag!
Thanks for the kind words about the music. That was a really fun game to work on.
I wish you were here in Seattle so you could update some of my pins.
Brian (Swords of Fun...Er.. Fury.. composer)
p.s. thanks to Roy for pointing me to your videos..
(p.s. sorry.. I'm not sweeping the floors at Stern :))..
WOW!!! The MASTER himself!! Well Brian, now you know how much I love this music!!! And to think I had you going about that "Orchestra Switch"! When I heard that Alan Parsons track, I really did think of Swords! Had to work it in somehow! And please note, I did mention that I thought you could be involved at some point with Jersey Jack one day!! Thanks again for watching!!
Not gonna lie, this is pretty cool that you have posted here. Owner #(I forget LOL) of Swords of Fury here. Thank you for your awesome work. Shame it got no love from the Williams bigwigs. It won't ever leave my collection!
+Brian Schmidt You may like this video of a fan of your music...doing the score from Black Knight 2000...its really terrific! ruclips.net/video/jUEPBqrUzdc/видео.html
Wow
I'm so blown away. I grew up with a neighbor who owned one of these and it enchanted the hell out of me and still does. So I have to say it. This video warmed my heart , thank you so much.
Ahhh...you have been touched by "Swords Of Fun!"
what an awsome music! one of the best of the machines from the 80's, in my opinion
HAHA!
Your Conducting,, "Da Da DA, Da Da!" BAHAHA!
Brilliant.
COuldn;t resist!
Didn't even know this table had such a sick soundtrack got to check my virtual pin of this now lol
One of the best scores ever written for pinball!
I really love this pinball! one of the first in played when i was young. and the music and the atmosphere are so good... i have never forgotten it! Thanks for this nostalgic moment! :-)
+Mat zuki (Matzuki) Glad you liked the video and it brought back good memories!
I mainly play pinball arcade since it was my first big introduction into pinball plus the pandemic it's kind of hard to go out and play it in the wild; this table i'll load up sometimes just to listen to it's music and go about doing othedr things i need ot on my computer and use it as background music it really is a great soundtrack.
I think this has got to be in the top 10 list of most goofball tnt videos
Todd Tuckey is a national treasure
thank you, Andrew!
Love the music on that game! you've convinced me, I'm getting one and putting it right next to my Black Knight 2000...
Might be a bit pricey, but with estate sales and auctions...
this game pulls more then a few strings from my heart.. boy what an great game .. and this particular game hooked me forever into pinball.. and yes. i love the fact u got so far to shine more light into the amazing sound package this game delivers! i bought this game.. 10 years ago for just 250 euro.. best money ever spend!
I was just given this machine by a couple of friends who were moving and needed to find a place for it. It plays perfectly. I'd never heard of it, but it really is a great machine. This video is extremely informative (and fun). Thanks for posting!
Glad you liked the video Zach! And glad you love your game!
Games like this make me wish they sold soundtracks cds for pinball
Ooohh yes. According to an interview with Steve Ritchie (the Williams designer responsible for Star Trek, Black Knight 2000, High Speed, Terminator 2, and No Fear), this game was apparently not popular while being designed and built and known as "Dick Swords."
I have since played a fully working version of it and I think it's pretty cool. LIONMAN! LIONMAN!
There is even a fan club now!
Brian Schimdt is a fantastic composer, I actually did a review of Crue Ball on my channel and talked about him since he did the music on that game. I also have a TMNT and a Les Schwab (Checkpoint conversion) which he also did the music for. Swords of Fun (LOL) sounds incredible as expected from that guy.
Neat!
Retro Game Players and Madden Nfl 95
cool game ,,hey I want that Meteor !
We have another on the racks in our warehouse awaiting an order!
Great soundtrack love it.
And as well the gag. well executed.
Kept you guessing!
and the guy u mentioned who did the sound SHOULD get an award indeed for his work he did on this game particular.. the name ur searching for is the Famous Brian Schmidt.. 1 of the greatest pinball sound guys in pinball history.. my favorite sound guy however is Dan Forden, but guys like Chris Granner and David Thiel do very well too these days..
Sound is such a VITAL part of any pinball machine!!
What an awesome presentation!
Thank you!
Really cool vid... The last bit was pretty good. lol.
Swords of Fury is a cool pin, really like it.
They don't make music like this anymore
demolition man cool! even better with the Swear roms
Beautiful machine! I'm super jealous. Maybe someday you'll get another one in :)
Big Big Fan wow Boys great job and love the sound of that machine. Keep Tilting it! boys TnT Rules
Love it
Williams should name this pinball swords of fun. It's great name
I used to play this, a lot, because I liked the music.
ummmm cool never thought of the audio like you do you. also you scared the shit out of me with the electrocusion. thanks
Glad you liked it!
good god that soundtrack is genius
Jason Sanders2 Agreed! Look at the comments...the composer himself comments (on my joke about the orchestration!)
This was a fantastic pin, but the music was simply incredible! Here is a link to all of the music in the pin:
Prelaunch - Pinball Music - Swords Of Fury (Unknown 1)
retroelectrical Agreed!! But remember, it's SWORDS OF FUN!
+TNT Amusements Inc FURY!!! not Fun.
I just recently wrote to the place in Akron where they are having their pinball expo and I asked about some titles seeing if they had them at the show and by accident put "Swords of Fun" -hahaha Yall are a bad influence.
I'll tell you what the music sounds like - the soundtrack to the original Unreal from 1999.
Yes...I can hear some similarities! Unreal has some nice tracks (on RUclips) Todd
Huh, how nostalgic is this game
Where are you located? Wish u could fix my swords of fun machine. Ha. Seriously though nice work. I would love it if you guys fixed my pins and plugs. The same two are fried on mine causing some of the lights not to work on the play field and about all the lights on the backglass except where the scores are.
+magicmikezero Our website is www.tntamusements.com We are near Phila PA.
Jesus! , when you faked getting zapped, I spilled my coffee on my shirt, really got me good, you would be laughing your ass off at me right now, I'm serious!
Glad I made you laugh!!!
Played this at the South Coast Slam recently. I don't think I liked it but then the mini playfield flipper was broken.
wow...thats so important to the game!!
Hi I noticed you said it had the factory mylar and it would look nice when removed. Did you decide again pulling it. I have a Sof and was wondering if it's a good or bad idea? Love your videos, watch them late at night in bed keep them coming very addictive.
Hi! Its a VERY messy process...and you may have to take everything off playfield...we spray freeze spray on the mylar and then peel...this keeps it from pulling paint up. Then you have to get the goo off...we use regular flour and then roll it off...I do not recommend this for you...very aggravatingand messy!
great play and music, but just how do you get the mini-playfield off to change the sword bulb.....??
+Paul McKinney I believe there are screws below the playfield...but its been out of the shop for over a year now
The flasher is mounted under the lower playfield, not under the upper one. Smart designers!
Hi, I own the same pinball machine and it has been sitting for a fews years without maintenance. The displays are not working anymore, and i wondered if there is any obvious cause that i can fix myself or if i need to replace the displays themself. Thanks !
I doubt the displays are bad...probably the power supply that drives them is bad, which may be an easy fix
You guys did a lot of work to my old machine. Did you guys get my message I left on the display?
LIONMAN!
:-)
you had me going with the orchestration switch... until I noticed the display still said "music off"! :)
Wonderful video. :)
Thanks!
I hope Demolition man will be show soon?
Hi Todd! Can you tell me the secret to "remove" the sound that flippers does (the sword sound) please? Thank you
that would be in the adjustments menu of the game...you can look on ipdb.org and download manual for free and find the setting!
Sweeping the floors at Stern, Frank could only dream of such an accomplishment ;) Here is Brian's wiki page en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_L._Schmidt
Swords of Fury pinball music and The Alan Parson's Project in the same video... Now we're talking!
Glad you liked the video!!
You should have used fire leds for the jackpot! After all, it's a fire!
Great idea...we will now...but this was filmed three years ago before the Fire led's came out!
That soundtrack is amazing. Do you know who did it?
YES!!! As a matter of fact, he has responded in the comments below! It was BRIAN SCHMIDT who wrote the music! He liked my gag! The "gag" music was from Alan Parsons Project "Turn of a Friendly Card". Todd
TNT Amusements Inc
Cool. Thanks.
Lol, it does look like it reads "Fun"
I rest my case!
great video, how much $$ was this shop work for the customer
This overhaul/LED's conversion was $1400!
Alan Parsons kicks ass
Loved using that piece here!
But...thats a Morningstar, not a Battleaxe, Todd :P
i stopped the video at the switch.. went checking.. did not found it.. strait up googling what board i have and cant find anyone with the same problem.. nah just kidding.. it was a good joke.. ;)
:-)
