    Thank you, Todd, for your informative & entertaining video about this wonderful, classic pin. This pin has been on my bucket list for a decade+, & I finally found one to restore. Your info about the LED circuit board, etc will prove very helpful as I tackle this project. Also, I enjoyed meeting you at TPF 2023! It was nice to find that you’re exactly the same friendly & knowledgeable person that I watch on your RUclips channel. BTW, you did a great job as MC of the TWIPYs!

    I just acquired one of these Flash Gordon machines. This is my first machine. This video was very helpful. I have caught the pinball bug. I am loving tinkering inside this thing.

    Man-O-Schevitz, them new LEDs somehow recreate the excitement we felt seeing these old games for the first time in our youthful eyeballz! I love it and can't wait to have youse guys to re-jazz my fleet of vintage pins! Once I buy them, of course. In the next couple of years. It's like a time-traveling Christmas Tree and really makes for a very cool, and necessary update. Another great video! Thanks, Todd!

    Haven't seen the film, but the pin is a pretty good player. I personally like how it's a bit of a bridge between the earlier EM machines and today's microchip and video display machines.
    It's a fun game, the Emperor's taunts brought a smile. "Lucky shot, Earthling."

    Black Knight is a classic but personally, I think Flash Gordon is even nicer table. Might be the best 80's table Bally made. Everything just "clicked" with this one. The sounds, the artwork, the atmosphere... great work!

    The more of these videos I see, the more impressed by the games of the '70s & '80s. As much as I love todays designers past efforts, the Stern games of today seem to lack by comparison. They seem to rely more on licensed theme popularity than game play. This, of course, is just my opinion. "Get the extra ball!" :)

    bought one of these recently which had a home resto and plays very nicely - much friendlier than I remember from the 80s. Mylar slows it down. That said, Ming is a SOB and everything I hated about this coin gobbler runs true today - penalty drains for direct hits being my pet peeve. That said, I don't know another game which lets you rack up maximum bonus and keeps you invested in concentrating with multiple collect bonus options in two playfields...and at that stage with everything lit, it can make for a 2Million ball....if you can keep it alive mwahahaha. Try again earthling!

    Hello, great video, love seeing the restoration PLUS loved seeing the game play. I am restoring my own Flash Gordon right now and this really helped. I am also using a playfield overlay, can you tell me what you did for preparation before applying it. Did you scuff up the surface, did you fill worn area grooves, etc.? What do you recommend for filling grooves (heavily worn areas) that will not dry out, become brittle or chip away over time? Thanks!

    • @tntamusements
      @tntamusements  8 лет назад

      +Joe Ruggiero we oriignally roughed them up...but now we try to take off all the paint...and smooth it down.

      +TNT Amusements Inc After you smooth it down, do you clearcoat the wood before applying the playfield overlay?

      +Joe Ruggiero After you smooth it down, do you clearcoat the wood before applying the playfield overlay? When you smooth down the playfield do you sand over the inserts with very fine sandpaper?

    • @tntamusements
      @tntamusements  8 лет назад

      +Joe Ruggiero We do not clearcoat...playfield is cleaned and we make sure its all flat and then clear heavy mylar is put over the playfield to seal the paint.

    Really enjoy your videos! Just started restoring a Flash Gordon but having some major sound issues all it does is hum, was hoping you could point me in the right direction. This version has a sounds plus board. Have tried changing the self test sound settings to 03, and am going to try re-programming the roms. Am very new at this so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    • @tntamusements

    another one. Frank keeps zooming in on that extra ball light and I keep thinking hmm that new sticker for the play field seems off. my OCD would be going noodles right now. forgetting where it seems a bit to far to the northwest :P looks better downfield but that extra ball light it's glaring. ahem this is why we keep mylar on the playfield... or why I can't put zagg screen protectors on right :P course OCD sometimes can be a good thing and sometimes it's not. I did not have much problems with an early Halloween floating head :P
