To all the editors and video creators out there, please respect his requests. Lets keep the legend of the golden age alive and demonstrate the respect we paintballers have for each other.
This video changed my world. I was already playing paintball when this video was released, but it made me want to be a competitor and not just another player. Here I am at 34 years old, still playing tournaments and practices as often as possible, as well as supporting acts in the punk rock/hardcore scene through concerts and merchandise. There isnt anything about that era in my life I would change if I had the opportunity.
I started in 91 still playing when I can im almost 50. Love this sport. This movie was the best back in the day. I have shot ALOT of paint over the years..... no regrets
Time capsule. Young icons. Angles autocockers and revys. No F words. Great piece of art. Should be required watching for all ballers to learn of their legacy.
Patrick, cannot thank you enough for uploading this film and creating it in the first place. I played a lot of ball in the 90's and fell out around 2002. I can honestly say I wore out a couple VCR's watching your film over and over. Your attention to detail with sticking everything together is what makes this film so iconic in my opinion. A few examples would be the opening black and white scene with Cold's "Ugly". The line in the song says "why must I die for you, it's the ugly truth". So fitting. Then you have Staind's "Just go", Lasoya gets popped in the face as the track talks about "these tortured faces". Cagnoni's infamous snake jump as the song says "without a care, and full ahead". Danny Love sitting with his hands behind his head as the track says "I'm a captain of industry, spoken famously", guy was and still is a legend. You had Mikey Bruno looking over the top of the bunker as the song goes "still breaking old habits" then right into "remembering" as the guy is crawling on a pipe field. Those were old school moves that were slowly starting to fade with the new style of play. I could go on and on, but we'll end there and just say the whole film is perfect. Once again, I can't thank you enough for making it. Oh, and we can't forget about Danny Love telling it how it is, alllllllll the way at the very very end. Nobody I know ever even knew that was in there. Watch to the very very end everyone! Oh and yah, one more thing..... Doo Doo Brown!
Very impressed you got a lot of the nuances in the care that I put into the film. A lot of people don't make those correlations but still I think subliminally they get it they just don't realize it like you did. Very impressed! It was definitely a fun puzzle to make and when all the pieces come together it's a great feeling.
Hey thanks! You definitely did a great job putting this puzzle together! You told a really great story and you complimented it with super great editing. When that level of care is put into the editing, it works for everyone like you said, subliminally, sub consciously. It pulls you right in, and before you know it... The end. I've done a few little edits, mostly mountain bike/ski stuff, and I always try to put that same care into them. It definitely is puzzle like, and a great feeling when it all comes together! Hope to see more from you in the future! And... Is Sunday Drivers on your list to upload and share as well?? That's another great film I wore out a couple VCR's with! Ha.
Thanks Buddy! And yes all of my films will be up here soon. So every one please keep subscribing and you'll be notified as soon as I upload the rest of the films. Thank you.
@@MonkeywithaGun Really well composed video. I don't have the background knowledge to really truely understand the video like some of the other ballers do, but still a great video none the less. Do you think you'll do anything like this, for the new school? Perhaps not possible?
@@witchblades6979 Thats the first thing i realized, this was way rougher and aggressive. (I am a younger player). Sort of a different game, alot less wimpy players
Too many cry babies these days. This was the height of paintball in my opinion. We had a blast and the sport was super aggressive. These guys played to win and didn’t whine because they got their feelings hurt.
I got involved in paintball about a year ago and i was told this film is a must if you love and respect the sport. I got to say thank you for putting this film together it is still bringing new players deeper into the sport. You have created a timeless masterpiece that captures the mind of all players. This is a legacy film thank you again
This is amazing. This VHS was the reason I stopped messing around with my buddies in the woods and at our local field and started taking paintball seriously as a sport. I lost my copy in hurricane Katrina and was actually pretty devastated. I definitely wouldn’t have gotten into tournament ball if not for PUSH. Thanks for making this available!
I remember watching the trailer for Push in '99 with a group of friends. After 3 minutes and 12 seconds with AFI's "Fall Children" playing throughout, we all had goosebumps! We pitched in funds to buy the video when it came out, and watched it as a group of friends, players, and brothers! For the uninitiated, this is THE iconic Paintball documentary! This is the show that set the standard for every Paintball movie after it, and by which every Paintball movie afterwards is judged against. Thanks for sharing it for all to watch. It really is a piece pf Paintball history!
You’re the man!! DooDooBrown!!! I had the opportunity to get Rocky’s old M2 and called it my modern day doo doo brown since I was young during this era. she was recently stolen out of my truck. No one understand how much that marker meant to me and how much I used to look up to these pros as hero’s as a kid and still today. Thank you for uploading this film!!
Got into paintball as a teenager back in the early 2000s. Had a copy of Smoked and 300 FPS, but wow... PUSH is on a whole other level! Totally captures the spirit of paintball during that time. Thank you for making it, and thank you for putting it up on RUclips, and at such fantastic quality!
Thank you so much for doing this Patrick. At 32, I had the pleasure of playing during the Golden age. It seemed like everyone was playing. We would watch Push before tourneys, before backyard games, before...well , everything. This movie means a lot to me and the people I grew up playing with.
This movie is the only movie in my life that made me just go so something so new to me. I traveled every weekend to Ft Collins CO then to Denver CO from Scottsbluff NE all in one day just to play. An older player than I let me borrow this movie and I was done ever since I saw Rocky C jump up and down getting hyped.... I miss those days....
This film is what got me completely hooked into paintball. It was a masterpiece. Watching with buddies I played with and there homemade field in the woods. Thank you so much for letting me relive that.
Jesus, the flood of emotion when I hit play… never ever will there be a time like that. The golden years is a perfect statement for this film. Thank you
This video bring back so much memories for me. I use to play way back in the day. I remember coming home from school and literally watching this movie everyday. Thanks for uploading this.
Bro The boys and I used to live by this film This is the sickest and most nostalgic sound track of my days. We watched it before practice, before tourneys, before school, while we partied. When we finally made it to world cup in orlando and old town man it was like a dream. Thanks! 'Captains of industry feet up on the window sill' PURE GOLD!!!
I still have it on VHS but It's mostly worn out because I back it up and played it so many times.. This made me fall in love of the sport and you know I don't play anymore I still love the sport with everything I have
when the NCPA was being developed, and those of us at Iowa State Paintball team were diligently working to build a paintball practice field on campus... we watched this DAILY, every night, religiously. Thank you sir for this, which is still to this day the pinnacle of paintball documentaries.
I started playing back around 96/97 and couldn't get enough. When this came out on VHS I must have watched it a million times in my bedroom after school, just waiting for the next chance to play. And now, over 20 years later, I still find the need to flip this on and relive what it was like to really love playing paintball. Thank you so much for making this film.
I had "Push" on VHS, watched it every single Friday night before going to play on Saturday. This was hands down my favorite Paintball video of all time. Me and my buddy's still 20 years later, say "Doo Doo Brown"!
I got this movie when i was in 5th grade. It changed my life. My dad and brother had recently gotten into paintball and I was right behind them. The music, the style, the imagery, and Rocky Cagnoni were my life the next day. Thank you so much for uploading.
My first real paintball film. Had it on vhs back in the day, and got it on dvd about 4 or 5 years ago. I love everything about this film. It’s still one of my all time favorite films in all genres. Brings back so many old memories. Much love for the upload.
Just found this. I've been considering getting back into paintball. Watching this brings back so many memories of playing back in the late 90's and early 2000's.
This documentary made it all the way to South Africa. It was the first paintball documentary I ever watched (still on VHS) when I started playing as a kid and laid a solid foundation as a competitive player. In my humble opinion definitely one of if not the best and most fundamental paintball documentary ever made. It really set the bar for Paintball documentaries. Watching this brings back so many great memories. Thank you so much for the upload.
I'm honored to have played during the golden age. Thank you for making lasting, impactful memoriam for our kind. This age will live on in our heart of hearts. There were no better, nor more pure days. "We're still here. Scarred but here....We were invincible then."
What a genuinely amazing filmmaker asking not to rip simply because he wants the video quality preserved. I watched this as a youngster growing up in the paintball game & it’s as inspiring now as it was back then.
Thank you Patrick both for sharing and for making THE paintball movie I got started with paintball back in 2002 and I have seen your movie about a 1000 times. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!
I started paintball with this Videos, i have Seen it so often i Even can Not count. Wie heared The soundtrack When wie went to tournements. I miss this days and my old autococker :-( . Tank you so much for the Upload in hd, i only had the vhs.
Patrick. I found this 7 years too late but hope you get the message. I started playing Paintball as a crackly-voiced teen playing with Bushmasters, Impulses, VM68's, and Mech-Autocockers.... I still have this film on VHS. Tech has changed so much since then, i dont even have a working VHS player anymore. Thank you SO MUCH for making this free for all to see. Following the stories of these teams still damn near brings tears to my eyes because of how hard these guys "push"ed themselves in such an underdog sport. Also i got introduced to all kinds of music that i still play today. Thanks so much man, for the work that went into this.
Thank you Patrick, what you and Bryon did with PUSH was truly incredible. Canonized an era of paintball and our collective feelings about what the sport meant to us. Between the soundtrack perfection and the look into these players lives (whom most of us never got a chance to meet let alone play alongside) it's just something that won't come around again. I hope it does though.I no longer have my VHS copy so I thank you for the time and effort you put into upressing and officially uploading an original, all for free nonetheless. If you ever have the desire, the trailer for push can only be seen in 144p on the web. I would bet people would love to throw that some serious love for years to come if you gave it the same treatment and preserved that little moment of paintball history. Keep planting those seeds man, you made a difference in alot of players' lives.
Sir, thank you so much for uploading the video on here. My father had a copy on VHS and we have no idea where it is and i missed watching this as a kid. I finally got a taste of the action and i love it and wanna go back for more. Thank you again for creating and uploading it for the next generation of paintball players to view.
waaaaay late to the game witht he comment, but I still have PUSH on VHS! love it way to go pat, your works are great, and i'm lovin the throwback. THANK YOU!
Had the original VHS that I got for a birthday present back in 2001 I think. I think I wore out the tape. This Doc not only shaped my taste in music but I think had a major role in becoming a filmmaker myself. Even though I have stopped playing paintball this film is one of my favorite docs of all time, thanks for making it available to watch again.
I was only in the 7ish when I first found paintball I remember watching this when I was a little older , then I got into paintball in the 6th grade, watching this is so cool it reminds me of when I first started playing way back. Paintball is a lifelong passion for me its helped me get past my social anxiety and I started to interact with people more and more. This documentary is pure amazing and so well done
Thanks for uploading. Seeing this really takes me back to my middle school days behind my blue Impulse. My older brother was rocking a red Texas Storm timmy. So many memories playing the sport back in the golden days.
This is the most iconic paintball film of all time. It inspired many players when it came out...and probably still does to this day. This is by far still my favorite paintball doc of all time. Great Job!!!
I cannot thank you enough for releasing this video my friend. The Push trailer spread across my highschool and got me into paintball big time. I even got an AFI tattoo because of the trailer's choice in music. I went on to win a few local trophies for 3 man events and I even had the chance to play with and against team Lockout players at our locally sponsored field. Your film helped me break out of my shell and meet many amazing people. Without your work my childhood would likely be a bore. Thank you so much man
Thank you for uploading this. It is so much more than a paintball video. The music, the players the atmosphere ; they define a generation of paintball players. Paintball got me through some really tough times in my mid teens. It gave me a singular focus that took me away from a lot of the trouble I was on the brink of getting into. This movie brings me back to those times and makes me remember those people. I miss it so much sometimes it physically aches, but I am beyond fortunate to have gotten to experience it first hand.
Thanks Patrick ! It's great to see you share these, as they are getting harder to find in DVD ! I think you tell amazing paintball stories ! Heroes for a Day will always be my favourite.
This is when I started playing, this film made me want to play competitively and fell in love with the game. Big up to all the players and people involved in this project. It really was awesome and the 1st of its kind for the paintball fans.
Thank you so much for posting this! PUSH came out when I was in my rec-ball, Paintball prime in my younger days. OMG did this thing, even though it was speedball / tournyball, this thing influenced ALL of my friends and co-ballers. This brings back, so, so, SO MUCH emotional memories. The soundtrack was probably the greatest thing ever. I would like to rip it, just so I can watch it in case my internet is out sometime, lol.
I remember going to the paintball field around 2002 after school every night and your films being played back to back non-stop 24/7 on the TVs. There were a lot of "whoa"s from me and my friends. Thank you, you are amazing.
What a welcoming piece of paintball history . And I must say to watch this over again , start to finish , front to back is breathe of fresh air all over again. As with the rest of the fans and "old School" paintballers like myself , i say thank you .
Dammit Patrick, you released this right after I spent $85 on an unopened copy of the push DVD haha. Thank you for putting this out there for everyone to enjoy. I hope you are still making great films.
@@patrickspohrer2365 oh, I opened it immediately and watched it about three times with my cousin. I spent a solid six months trying to find any copy, so I was just happy to see it for the first time in about ten years.
This came out the year I started playing. Crazy how after all these years when I think of paintball it's still these moments and these players and playing style that comes back first and foremost after all the years and evolution of the sport itself. Still playing, and also have made a handful of films myself
Those autocockers bring backs great memories of many days spent at southern wildfire, dixie storm, paintball command and LAX I'd watch push to get pumped up Thanks
I reffed at teh legendary Thunderbay paintball in Tampa FL who pumped out legendary teams and players such as Team Strange. I played for a team known as Tampabay Demolition later to become Tampabay Damage. The field was evenually sold and turned into a housing development known as Champion's Forest (Fitting af). I'd watch these videos over doing school work often. They hyped me up so damn much. So proud to be a part of the Golden Age of paintball. It was some of the most exciting years of my life.
Man I bought this on DVD in early like 2001. Still have my angel G7 fly, DM6, and a bushmaster lol. I watched this documentary probably 1000 times with my team back then. The music is perfect.
I remember watching this on VHS when I was in elementary/ middle school. My parents would get pissed because I would run around the living room with my bob long millenium hiding behind furniture trying to reenact everything in this movie.
I was raised on this movie...i will NEVER forget. Every friday night my buddies and i would watch it to set the tone for the weekend.

THANK YOU!
Never thought I would be able to watch PUSH in such good quality
Probably watched my VHS copy of this 500 times when I got my hands on it 20 years ago.
Nice! The golden years. Real talk!!!!
One of the best paintball films ever... you rock !!!
Love this movie. I miss playing that was some good times. I wore out the VCR tape watching this before games it motivated my team
Still remember watching this movie over and over and over in like 8th grade!
I remember going to the paintball field around 2002 after school every night and your films being played back to back non-stop 24/7 on the TVs. There were a lot of "whoa"s from me and my friends. Thank you, you are amazing.
Bought the VHS from a paintball store in AZ back in 2000. The new remaster looks great!
What a welcoming piece of paintball history . And I must say to watch this over again , start to finish , front to back is breathe of fresh air all over again.
As with the rest of the fans and "old School" paintballers like myself , i say thank you .
Thank you buddy!
Awesome, thank you! Best pb movie ever!
Thanks for uploading this! Reliving my childhood.
amazing, this was my dad's era of paintball
Thanks so much for making these classics available.
Thank you for uploading
thanks for keeping a piece of my youth alive ❤️
Dammit Patrick, you released this right after I spent $85 on an unopened copy of the push DVD haha. Thank you for putting this out there for everyone to enjoy. I hope you are still making great films.
TheDudeofDudes that’s a collectors item! I only have one left myself.
@@patrickspohrer2365 oh, I opened it immediately and watched it about three times with my cousin. I spent a solid six months trying to find any copy, so I was just happy to see it for the first time in about ten years.
If you're coming back to watch again... Skip to 2:53..
Love these classic videos man! I"m so glad I can find these here now..
This came out the year I started playing. Crazy how after all these years when I think of paintball it's still these moments and these players and playing style that comes back first and foremost after all the years and evolution of the sport itself. Still playing, and also have made a handful of films myself
Those autocockers bring backs great memories of many days spent at southern wildfire, dixie storm, paintball command and LAX
I'd watch push to get pumped up
Thanks
One of the first dvds I purchased so epic!!!
I played from 99-10, had this on vhs and lost it. I have been trying so hard to find it online. Thank you for uploading it!!
I remember watching this on VHS when I was in elementary/ middle school. My parents would get pissed because I would run around the living room with my bob long millenium hiding behind furniture trying to reenact everything in this movie.
