- Hey plant friends! Today it was time to repot my vigorous Purple Waffle Plant! She was getting to big for the spot she was in so I decided to not only repot her but also divide her into 3 plants and give 2 new baby #Plants to my mother! This is such a beautiful plant with a very nice rich purple underside and is super easy to care for! Thanks again for repotting another plant with me and I hope you got some plant chores of your own done during this video!

What plants do you have to repot?! We would love to know your plant plans!!
Hi ! ! really your plants is beautiful and huge....Nice sharing
Thank you!!
@@NailzByA dear...i also got some plants videos if you are interested
Yes you’ve told me thank you
I just did a tiny purple waffle and it is SO MAD. Idk what to even do anymore. She's good on water and also am bottom watering, I just don't know if she will recover. I hate waiting. I read like 'use sugar water or Epsom salt' but I don't want to torture her anymore.
Beautiful plant ! Thanks for sharing your experience 💚
I have the snow white waffle plant of that same family. I use to have the purple waffle but it's all they has. Loving it.
That one’s gorgeous!
Holy smackers, that is HUGE & beautiful
I know! Thank you!
I just got this plant. A small one. I didn’t know they could grow to be this big. Now I am happy I bought it. And I have noticed that it is a thirsty plant already. I put one in a humid terrarium and that one has exploded with growth.
Yes these plants LOVE water in any form they can get it!
@@NailzByA get this I dropped a purple waffle leaf in my aquarium and it was submerged for at least a week. I pulled it out of the water only to find it had started little roots and was all healthy and happy. Really surprised me.
Very helpful. Thanks ❤️
Thank you for watching!
Your waffle plant is goals Ashley, so beautiful 😍 it’s almost sad to repot it, but it’s a good thing for the mother plant💚
I know after I was done and put her back on the window sill I was like omg she is sooooo tiny now lol but she’s been growing so fast and with more room for her roots I’m sure she’ll be back at that size in no time at all!
Oh definitely, she’ll even be bigger the next time you show her🤣
I jumped into the leca craze after my first attempt a few months ago. I am starting off slowly with a variegated peace lily and a struggling bird of paradise 😜
Lol I seriously love leca! Your bop should do really well in leca!! I hope she comes back well for you!
Thank you Ashley, can’t wait for your unboxings😜💚
There’s a bunch on the way!!
Thank you for this video! I bought a 3.5" baby Waffle Plant today. 🤗
Your welcome! Aw I bet it’s super cute! They are so easy and really pretty plants! Thanks for watching!
I can't wait for my purple waffle to get that big. I got two 4" babies from Walmart last week and I planted the together in an 8 inch pot. Such a beautiful plant 😍
This plant grows extremely fast in my experience! Since dividing it she’s right back to her starting size if not a little bigger and it’s been winter so I’m looking forward to all the growth come spring! Good luck growing your beauty, you can also propagate this plant with cuttings in water or soil just be sure to get a node!
@@NailzByA I am so excited! Thank you!
Your welcome! Thanks for chatting!
Thanks for sharing! I kept having to water my waffle plant before it was time (so dramatic🙄🤣) My husband said it must be too big for it's pot, then I watched your video.
Thanks for watching! Yes it is just a thirsty plant lol I water her, even right now in the winter, at least once a week sometimes twice!
Thank you for sharing.. I have a purple waffle and it's growing nicely.
Yw! Thanks for watching! This plant is a vigorous grower, growing nonstop for me!
Have you found that it works good to plant these slightly deeper when you repot them than they previously were? I did that with one of the many I have, and it shot out a lot more growth and became thicker. I did that because the growth towards the bottom was bare and mostly stems. Usually if they get like that I just snip off the top parts and replant them or start new plants. This time I experimented by potting the whole thing a little deeper and it worked out great.
That’s amazing! I haven’t tried that I planted the ones I split normally I guess you could say and they grew great but that’s great advice for any leggy waffle plants thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing i really love purple waffle is one of my favorite plant ...is beautiful and so big your Hemigraphis....and is so easy to care😘💜 i love it. Great video
Your welcome! Glad you enjoyed this video! Thank you for watching! This is also one of my favs. Definitely easy to care for as long as I give her tons of water lol
Thanks for the repotting tips!
Absolutely! Thanks for always watching!
Would love to know more about how you got it to grow so big. Wow!
I really Gabe this plant little care! It sits in a north facing window and during spring and summer I watered it almost every other day or every third day and it just grew massive! Lol thank you for watching!
Wow 🤩
I know! 😁 thanks for watching!
Mine is being so dramatic. It was super root bound when I bought it and I had to loosen them before it strangled itself, it was like wrapped all around itself. So now it's like day 3 of flopping over the side of the new pot.... I have to keep hoping it hasn't just died... Help.
I have a PWP and miss lady has an arm that is growing out like crazy (Keeps branching more plants) . Should I repot? Everytime I look it’ seems to be like a new plant base in the soil. Started off with two and it’s probably 4 now within a 4” pot
Yes this plant grows like a wild fire! I’ve noticed it’s a very thirsty plant and doesn’t seem to mind to be a bit pot bound. I repotted this only this once to give some to my mom and now it’s bigger than it was here and it’s still in the same pot growing and growing and loving life! So that’s up to you but in my experience this plant will do just fine for a while in it’s same pot!
Omg! How did you get it do big and beautiful?! I cannot get this plant to thrive in my home? What am I doing wrong?
So many people ask me this same question! I’m not sure honestly I don’t do anything special this was just a super easy plant to grow for me. I keep it in a north facing windows and water it a lot. This plant I noticed is a thirsty one but hasn’t seemed to require much light to thrive! Hope this helps!
I need to do that orchid bark mix you did 👏 👏
Ooops, this is going to be a mess. Let me get a plastic bag 😂
Lol these leaves fall off everywhere!
I recently got 2 snow white waffle and 1 purple waffle plant. Both my snow white waffles died. My purple waffle was doing okay but I saw it wasn't thriving so i moved it to a brighter indirect light. Now there are dark brown and black spots/ areas on all the leaves. I'm so confused by this plant. It's been sitting in the east bathroom
My purple waffle plant thrived in a north facing window as you saw here! It was very thirsty and required Lots of watering but grew super well and easy for me. I did however get the Snow White waffle plant twice and found it wasn’t as easy to grow for me both times it died! If it’s getting brown spots on the leaves it may be recieving a little to much light so pulling it back from the light source a bit if possible should help if not it may be drying out and need more watering a. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
How did you get it to grow so big and bushey,,?? Its beautiful ❤️
Thank you! This one just grew like a wildfire for me! It was in a north facing window so not much light but always thirsty so lots and lots of water kept this one growing!
Hermosa 😘 bendiciones que abono le hechas para que crezca así 🇩🇴🇩🇴
Thank you!
OMG 😮!!! That’s YOUR PURPLE WAFFLE PLANT!? Mine is so small, How long have you had it?? But it looks nothing like mine? I think maybe I got the wrong information spike in my plant or someone changed it in Home Depot?! How can I find out, can I post a picture here? Or send you a picture? Sorry, love your video and super excited to get one or repot mine if it’s the same.
yes its so big! After this video I split it up a bit and it grew even bigger! you can send me a pic on IG if youd like and hopefully I will be able to help. My IG is plantypricess92 thanks for watching!
Happy I found this. Is this in the peperomia family? That's what I was told I was sold😅
Glad you enjoyed this one! No Waffle plants are in the Acanthaceae family and peperomia are from the Piperaceae family.
Appreciate the knowledge. Here's to hoping it survives me. It was horribly root bound and I divided into 2 separate pots and it fell. I know it can be dramatic but I also have a black thumb.
Yw! Lots of patience love and care and I’m sure it’ll bounce back in no time!
I would love to get tips on how to grow such a big beautiful waffle plant.
I’ll have to make a video on this one! But a couple quick tips…I give her LOTS of water. This is a very thirsty plant in my experience and you know when it’s time to water when you see the leaves and stems start to droop. I try to give her lots of water pretty often so that doesn’t happen but sometimes in unavoidable but she perks right back up. Mine has been sitting in a North facing window since I’ve gotten her so in my experience this plant doesn’t need a lot of light to thrive. Hope these tips help and keep an eye out for the full video! Thanks for watching!
How do you sterilize the pruning shears? Alcohol swab?
Yes with alcohol. I usually just give them a good spritz with an alcohol spray bottle!
Do you have any of the variegated versions of the PWP? Belgian or Snow White? Do they require more or less light than the dark one? Yours is SO INCREDIBLE!!! GOALS!!! 😲😲😲👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰
Thank you and thanks for watching! NO I WISH! Lol I would assume as with most variegated plants that it would need a little more light but I don’t know for sure. Do you have one?!
@@NailzByA yes, I've killed them multiple times but I keep buying them again. 🤣 So I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Lol where do you find them!! I know my regular one is a very thirsty plant doesn’t like to go to dry. I actually have it placed in a north facing window and as you saw it thrives there so although the variegated ones may need more light the plant in general from my experience doesn’t require to bright of light to do well. It also crisps up if it’s to dry. It doesn’t need high humidity by any means to do well but it does get dry and crispy if it’s near a heat source I’ve noticed that much with mine as well.
I just checked them out on Etsy! Lol I’m gonna get one so I’ll make a video on it if I can get the care needs down!
@@NailzByA I've gotten all of mine at Lowe's. One of them was a good sized hanging plant, the second Belgian Waffle. It did great for quite a while and before I knew it, it was heading in the wrong direction. With my trials with them, it seems as if they ever start to deteriorate, I can't seem to get them to rejuvenate. Sooooooo... Your video has given me a boost of hope to keep trying. LOL 🥰 I really look forward to see how you like the Variegated versions. 🤗🤞 I really like these plants so I'm determined to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Your video has been one of the best I've seen yet and I really appreciate your conversation about them with me! 👏👏👏 Thank you so much! ♥️
Do you have any problem with fungus nats???
I don’t no although this plant for me is a super thirsty one I give it a chance to get a little dry before watering it again so it’s not an environment that they like!
Hello. Can you tell me how do you propagate this plant? I can not find any videos.
I just split this one in half so propagation by division in this video but I have water propagated cuttings and they root nicely in water. I take a stem cutting with 3 or 4 sets of leaves and an extra node at the bottom with leaves removed and keep that node submerged in water!
You’re so beautiful!
Thank you
Nice picture bro!! Go Flyers!!🏒🤩
I want one of these
So pretty and easy care!
Hi nice video!! My waffle plant droopy today😔 I just got it two days ago from home depo it as big as your now it looks sad. What do you suggest?
Thank you! I've notices these plants dont do well when transported especially in the cold. I would suggest keeping it in bright indirect light and in a medium to high humidity. Maybe from 50-75% if possible. In a grow tent or next to a humidifier would be best if possible other wise mist daily in the morning. Hopefully this will help. Also this is a very thirsty plant in my experience. Doesnt like to dry out at all thats always when mine droops so keep the soil moist at all times but be sure not to keep it soggy. You got this!
I love that plant but I Can not keep it alive 😔 thank you
Hope this will help! This one grew like a wildfire for me. Lots of water and she was happy!
What type of plant is that hanging in your window behind you
It’s a spider plant
