Wow, another great performance!!! I also love her outfits, classy!!! I wonder if Paula Abdul is inspired by her. And of course those guys are awesome!!!!
Now I know where madonna get her moves from Toni they are the same its like I'm seeing madonna dancing ,but Toni is a little better at it just a little now their Swag is the same madonna would never mention Toni Basil as her dance inspiration and she hasn't but she should they may be similar because they both worked with shabba Doo .
She doesn’t occupy the position she deserves with the general public that follows music and dance. The people that know her highly respect her talent. For many years all I knew of her was the Mickey song and video. Only recently did I learn her storied career in dance and music. I believe she is an icon in entertainment. Her choreography was cutting edge. She gave many talented street dancers exposure. An exceptionally talented person. This number highlights so many different dance numbers intertwined beautifully. Who is the white-up dancer? Many of the other dancers I recognize from other music videos.
Street Life , i saw Popin Pete scratching records, saw Greg Campbellock Jr. Pope RIP, saw Boogaloo Shrimp Chambers, who else was in this video? Everytime i run across it i have to watch. GOODTIMES😊😊😊😊
Too bad she hasn't been in the music industry more, she could easily win the title of one of the best female dancers. Definitely one of the 80's icons, it's a shame people kinda forgot about her.
Lain Warisa In the industry more? Toni has been around since the 60's dancing and choreographing before Madonna was even heard of. Bowie, Tina Turner, Talking Heads, street dancing, one of the founders of The Lockers.....please....
@@anonymousgirl799 Exacty. She is not forgotten. She just isn't the pop star that some other people became. But she is a well established name with a long and respectable career resume.
Tony is still in the biz she just went behind the scenes teaching others like in the movie biz she worked with Quinton Terrinteno in a dance scene in one of his movies.
I don't know what year this came out but I never seen Michael do 1:54 till the 90s and i doubt this came out then, I think this came out in the 80s but i could be wrong.
@@fosterglucose3214 Wrong Michael was doing this in the 70's also actually this type of dancing started wayyy in the 30's way before Toni and Michael black dancers in the 30' was doing this it is not new .

All female choreographers of the last 30-40 years owe their dues to Toni
Truth Spoken💯
absolutely. the best dancer I have ever seen.
Toni Basil and Paul Abdul were basically female choreography before 1990.
@@nickpavia9021 Let's not forget Debbie Allen.
Simply perfect!!
I wish I could dance like Toni! I am now 70 but still rocking!!

So much choreography, so fast - gotta watch it a few times just to take it all in

I meant to say white back-up dancer.
Yes definitely smoooooth Toni. Should have seen more of her.

Terry Bixler and Jazzy J are locking in the blue shirts as part of the trio!
This is so darn entertaining!
I just can't stop watching this!!!!!!!.... It's like a fascinating modern version of Powell's "The Red Shoes".♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Without you, there'd have been no Madonna. You're entirely to blame!
I love Toni, but that is a stretch
Awesome; Toni is the bomb 🙂👍🏽
before headsets, love Toni!

Wow! Wonderful!
I see where from Madonna would be spinning off. Exciting!
Running 🏃♂️is DEEEEEEEEEEEECENT ;-)
Michael Jackson literally stole some of her moves.... Not kidding here
OMG why I never seen this awesome video!

Creshendo and Diamond!! I haven't seen them since Star Search!

SNAP!!!
the running man 0:35
seems a little early for that dance
You're probably thinking of Rhythm Nation in '89, but the move goes back at least another ten years to Africa.
what show is this from and when was it made?
Smother brothers
Pfff... now i know from where Madonna took inspiration... failed justice again
Nah , different style.
My kinda dancin
the other dancer in this clip name is Kevin columbus..
That sounds like Dick Smothers' voice doing the introduction, but I don't know what show/year this is from.
The Smothers Brothers; She had musical dance segments on their show. This is one of them. Several are on RUclips.
Now I know where Paula Abdul got her inspiration.
jamx97 - Toni actually choreographed Paula Abdul.
Good eye.
Was this even a single? From what album?
when was this done?
She sings as good as maddona
David Mage check out her albums, her songs are incredible! Most people on know her for Micky but she has recorded a lot of catchy, commercial stuff.
Mickey was not a good song i hated it it was silly but it was a little catcy u could not help but to listen it was all over the radio .
I wonder how all of their knees faired from all those splits etc?
when was this?
Like to point out, she was doing this way before Micheal Jackson!
your point.

the Fred Sanford 2:05
2:51 & 2:57👀😗
These people were inspired by Michael Jackson or the other way around? or both got moved from James Brown maybe?
what's the dance at 2:49 ?
Looks like they did the Robo Cop on their knees
Makes me wonder if she didn’t actually sing for Madonna! Much better talent.
She isn’t lip singing at all
The vid and the song are okay but, street life ain't all that great actually.
What a shame that she felt she had to go 100% ghetto to be relevant. That's not how you do it.
wtf racist much

She was a locker...
Terry Bixler used to dance for Janet Jackson during the Rhythm Nation era
He choreographed for her tour.
