Love seeing stuff like this. I have the typical northeast ohioan income and a typical 30 year old's first theater room. Success is a journey, not a destination, right?!
That’s right! And something that looks good and costs an arm and a leg may not sound good, so there’s that as well.
I can get you into crypto and fix those issues I retired a while ago with crypto
Except that this journey rarely ever ends. It’s fantastic. Cheers!
Ultimate "Netflix and Chill" setup! Good luck!
Haha! Very true!!
Hang tough channa, make the best of your situation and move forward. Many of us have been there.
Thanks for the vid.
Cheers
Thank you for kind words and thank you for watching!
Been where did I miss something?
You are a brave man. Glad you have stayed the course and still chirping and smiling. You have done marvelously well to get your theatre back up and running in some form. It's obviously still in the prototype phase but keep going. We are all supporting you.
Thanks so much!
I think you're off to a good start Chana - "Every journey starts with a single step" - You're already a few steps in. - Thanks Dude! - Cheers!
Thank you so much! Yeah, at the end of the day, I've been doing this since the mid-nineties, so I know what to do.
I like the video, I admit there are people with an unlimited budget for home theater but there are still people like me on a budget with a room where we just make things work. I have a 7.1.4 with 4 sub ran through a minidsp. My speakers are 4 different brands but I used this channel and other to make my system sound good to me. Keep up the good work
I have a 5.2.4 Klipsch system in my bedroom: RP280F for fronts...RP260F rear surrounds...RP450C center...RP500SA for Atmos and Rythmik F12 subwoofers...Denon4400h runs it all.
I also have my 7.2.4 setup in my bedroom, too, but instead or my heights being on poles I have them mounted on to the walls near the ceiling with the keyholes (RP-500SAs) and I use a theater chair for my seat with four Polk RM-101s surrounding it. my mains are RP600M2s and my subs are a 10" Polk and a 12" Klipsch stacked one on top of the other.. When I watch a non-Atmos movie I sit by the back wall but if I have an Atmos movie I pull my chair forward about 5 feet so I'm more in the center of the room and I get the rear height effect...otherwise I'm too close to the wall. The sound would just go past me. My AVR is a Denon X4700H and have it pre-amped into a Tonewinner AD-8300PA amp. I'd like to get tower speakers, but I'm not sure if my room is big enough for them...then where would my old speakers go?
Good to see you enjoying your HT again.
I am!
This is such a good video, so many RUclips home theater gurus end up showcasing these unobtainable, highly priced pieces of equipment that it starts to become a turn off and discouraging as the average Joe in this US economy cannot obtain. I think if you continued down this path and showed BUDGET equipment you would have a good niche carved out in the HT realm. I know alotta working family men and woman would appreciate it.
Nice setup. If I were you, I replace the center channel with T6 so it matching the front exactly..as you mount your tv high it wont block the tv.
OooOOohhhh...that's actually not a bad idea! I would have to see how long the security camera cables are and if I can move those out of the way...thanks! That's a great idea!
Great video Channa. Happy Holidays buddy. Everything is looking great and coming together.
When you get a little extra money swap out that LG player for the Sony x800 mark 2. Here me out as a space saver it doubles nicely for music and movies. The do it all devices help with saving space.
I know, I have one in my old home. If I can get in there to get some stuff, that would be great, but not sure that can happen anytime soon.
@@TechnoDad I get that. I hope everything goes well in the future.
Thank you Channa.
Thanks for watching!
Love that you don't have to break the bank to get good sound for home entertainment.
Agreed!
Hey Channa looks good so far 😊.
Thanks, Mike!
Appreciate You Channa Big Time!
You the man, FAM!!
Techno how to you get your Volume to show minus - 25 got the opposite Volume indicator
There are adjustments in the back that you can tighten at any position you want also you need a little tilt for perfect viewing !!!
I know, but they are a bit too loose. Gonna replace the mount soon as it’s not centered properly.
@@TechnoDad even if you tighten them I have the same one I had to un mount the tv and just move the bracket over one hole using the same screws and while the tv is off tighten the brackets before putting tv back on
Gotcha!
Keep on, Chana, cheers!
Thanks again for a great update. Love the setup 🎥👍🏿
Thank you!
And sorry to hear about situation, just heard it in the life stream with Shane. I hope everything works out. And good luck 🤞🏾 👍🏿😊
I have the same monster power station 😁
Ayyyyy!!!!
Love it the Monolith speakers are q complete steal
It's more fun to get great sound out of a budget system than a 100.000 dollar set.
Good video for starting out again at affordable prices
Definitely!
Hello techno dad, greetings from Spain, I am very interested in the tripods where you put the Atmos speakers so as not to make holes in the ceiling, could you tell me where to buy them and what brand they are, thank you very much in advance
Magic Beans is the right name❤
Giddy-up!
How well would the Denon AVR-x3800h perform with a 12yr old Samsung tv using optical outputs rather than hdmi for Dolby atmos?
I just got the SACT disc now i just need to fiqure out an easier way to setup my room/speakers
Another great video. Thanks! I have a question please. In-wall rear speakers with sofa against the rear wall, where should I put my Atmos speakers for the rear, in ceiling on- wall up high by the ceiling? Thanks!
thanks for the video.my room is about the same . 10 x 10. using 7.2.4 system. my ? is why are your rear height's facing so toed in and not forward . i sit close to the rear wall as well . but mine are facing forward. what is this all about.
Hello great video, I have 5.2.4 but I’m wondering if i got the real Dolby atmos, just streaming via Netflix and Roku 4k, any recommendations I got Denon x3700 with Polk and klipsch speakers
Tecno can you listen to that +2.5 volume level with out Hurting the unit?
Excellent video! Keep up the great work!
Very rare (but great!) to see people making the most of a compromised room. My setup is very similar in terms of layout (but have a sofa rather than a bed). If the height speakers weren't restricted by the poles, would you change their position at all? I plan some wall mounted speakers for height, so can be a bit more flexible.
Thanks! Unfortunately, I can't put holes into the walls, hence I created "Speaker on a Stick". This works, but it's not ideal.
@@TechnoDad if you could move them would you adjust their position at all? I'm trying to leverage your experience as I don't want to keep moving my speakers... And filling holes!
I will not be moving them. I can to test things but probably not going to move them.
Techno Dad. You don't need a Poe Acoustic you have me. That's said, you know your room can better for free. Put this system on the other side wall where the bed is but towards the sliding windows. Move the bed where the home theater is now. Then use the little sofa by the window as your listening position. Moving the Large Cabinet close to the bathroom to the left side of where the bed will go. You will gain 2 feet of space and gain attentional space on the side so you can co-exist with the system in that room. Do your momma proud hook her up with a better setup in terms the whole layout of the system. You can make this look better, and most likely sound better. Then you don't have to lay down when watching a movie and you can have people visit and not lay on your bed for the experience. But what do I know besides everything?
All great suggestions!! Not sure she wants all that to happen, it is her house. I would get rid of this bed and put a futon in place for sure. At the end of the day, I need a place to film and review gear. Trust me, I tried to convince her to upgrade the TV room in the house, but she didn’t want to get rid of a lot of stuff. That would be a great room to upgrade. This bedroom is not the greatest. Too many windows, lots of glare, super hot as it’s on the second floor…but hey, at least I have a place to live.
I see that VIP 211k 😊
Dish network!!
Haha, yup! Moms loves her ZeeTV, it’s the reason she has Dish Network over DirecTV.
Why is Dolby Atmos used more than DTS X?
I have the same remote. It's been a long time since I hook it up to the pc for any updates.. But? What happened? Did you move?
Do you know if any of the Harmony remotes or Harmony hub can control the Apple TV 4k?
This remote I have controls the ATV4K
Awesome brother!
Maybe this has already been asked or you explained it, but why didn't you take the old stuff with you?
If my bedroom was my HT and as big as yours; know what i would do? projector & motorized 92" screen. Have i tempted you?🤔
Uh oh…the other great idea I got from a comment was to get a third T6 for a center channel…
Turn the room around and room for 7.2.4@@TechnoDad
dude this is amazing! remind me of my old room when i first started with a 60" sony sxrd rear projection and surround setup. those T6 sound good enough with just the AVR?
I'm sure they would be better with an external amp as they are 4 ohm speakers, but this AVR is a bit better than most.
How do you tolerate the tv too high?
When you stand the middle of tv at eye level and this is the goal when seated!
I sit 11 feet away, it’s not an issue.
BEANS !!
Toot toot!!!
As long as it’s runs well, that’s all that matters.
Kinda like how a Honda Civic can be more responsive than a BMW or Maserati.
when you tune and mod it.
Very true!
That center channel don’t have that much boom to them ?? Because if you did your toys would wind up on the floor
I’ve played the system very loud and those things don’t move. I was even surprised….
I had my center channel speaker walk off of its shelf while watching top gun maverick at thx ref.
It now has little rubber feet
Lay down black 2mm foam roll paper under all speakers that's golden rule
Was wondering if any luck just using Apple Remote to power everything via CEC. I’m trying with my Sony OLED/x4800h and Apple TV set up but it’s an absolute nightmare. Works for a week, then stops, randomly.
I know easiest thing to do is scratch the whole CEC but hard to do when my young kids use the tv and I don’t want them having to use three remotes to watch tv
Hmmm...I've never tried that....
I tell you I'd pay 7000 usd for a 5.1 powered system that had room calibration wirelessly that compared to speakers like Martin logan or focal
man I have been off line for a bit ... and I have noticed a big change ... what's up ... why did you move ... I'll always checked what you have to say ...
Hi Oliver, this video says a lot without saying anything specifically - ruclips.net/video/fl9FAq4UbyI/видео.html
Since you keep bringing it up, why did you have to leave suddenly?
It’s obvious he is going through a divorce situation. He has a video he talked about a new change.
I made a video about it, but I still can’t say much - ruclips.net/video/fl9FAq4UbyI/видео.htmlsi=Kd5lkvP584OI64kR
How far you sitting from your 65” OLED? Why not Sony’s 77” brother
Pretty far actually, like 10 - 11 feet. Looking at that inexpensive LG B3 at 77”
Yes 77” will be great 👍 but in India we don’t have Black Friday luxuries to change panels occasionally. I am sticking to C3 65” for next 4-5 years soon. My room is 9 by 9 feet.
I think it's not a humble beginning but just a great setup.
Offcourse wouldn't choose for a bed, but a couch, but i know this is now the situation.
I could use second woofer, have an svs sb 2000 pro, but that is too big and expensive, so looking for a good budget but compact sub, any advice?
Just a great setup with fine tuning, would like to try this tuning too. Will watch the tuning movie again..
Very true, I lucked out on a few things. I would try to get the same subwoofer, I'm not 100% on having two different-sized subs. I may get rid of the 10" and roll with the 12".
Then the best option is one sub for me, i have a livingroom with a home cinema setup.
If i had a home cinema theatre that would be a great option. Maybe with an wireless option it would be possible but i have also a budget. So just be satisfied with what i have 😅
Good call! My previous home theater I was only able to put a subwoofer in one location, which is why I like the stacking option that REL subwoofers have. I was able to have two subs in the one location. It would have been better to have the subs in different locations though.
With a room layout make out and with this gear, this can out perform Youthman with a little effort. I can help
My Home Theatre is in my bedroom as well and I love it! Sounds amazing with the help of SACT! Great job! Love the setup!😊

@@TechnoDad cmon Chana you know I’m already in the discord my man!
Lol! Sorry, I’m on autopilot responding to comments, and…there’s a lot going on…
@@TechnoDad haha absolutely no worries my man! We’re here for you! Was just teasing ya 😝
Wouldn't call that stuff budget equipment. You just got budget prices for it. Full retail that's climbing up close to $10k. Certainly not top of the line, but def not budget equipment.
It’s all about finding the right deals! Being a reviewer does have its advantages. Leaving behind a $10K speaker system has been rough…
@@TechnoDadwell ya can't disagree on either point there. You've still managed to start a pretty kick ass system for a great price. Looking forward to what you release in the future
Hello. I’m interested in the Spatial calibration disc. Is something I use after Dirac calibration?
Hi! I would use it instead of the Dirac Calibration or to check and see if Dirac did it correctly. Grab a dB meter or calibrated mic to get the job done right. I have plenty of tutorial videos and we also have a Discord community of owners/users that get much more from
Their systems due to the knowledge and friendly, helpful attitudes in the group. Dirac locks you out of making changes once it’s done with its calibration - Discord link - discord.com/invite/exSvPERuQK
Thank you. Def interested
Friendly advice: You better not look up to watch your tv. It's very bad to your neck. I learned this the hard way before so I know the importance of wall mount position now.
Understood, thank you!
I agree
He said “call of doody” 😅
I did no...okay, I did! LOL!
Channa you have a friend in me. You can stay with me.
Damn speakers is too high 😅
Lol!
So did you leave your wife or something? I've missed the explanation.
hmmmm intersting home theater in a bedroom? Did your wife leave you? divorce? i say it beacause that how i had to restart after my separation>>>>
Something like that, here's a video on that - ruclips.net/video/fl9FAq4UbyI/видео.html
When the wedding ring comes off, it's time to reset. Good AV gear and a great dog is a start.@@TechnoDad
Thanks, Scruffy!
@@TechnoDadI can hook you up with a nice Russian chick old fashioned will never leave you loyal. You dodge a bullet channa you a free man be happy about that.
Small room, BIG speakers columns that take a lot of space, how bad could it get?
Room completely mess and not about dust or anything simple looks chaotic with all the massive tower speaker , cheesus soo big subwoofer, why for that small room and rest electronics on the floor.
For a supposedly professional site, it doesn't look good.
He's not focusing on fucking interior design, he's focusing on sound quality. Chill out.
NO! Is not only about interior but what sound system he is using to size of his room. This looks ridiculous. He could achieve the same sound to have smaller speakers, not taking his space.
@@nonothing9685whoa, whoa, whoa, I think you need to relax and stop reading the original comment like its a weapon. The commenter gave his honest opinion, and TD can handle it, just like I'm sure the original commenter can handle your comment.
Well, let’s see…I had to abruptly leave my home and leave behind a very expensive home theater and move into my mother’s home. I’m sure you might be able to figure out why. The room is 23 x 13 with vaulted ceilings and around 3,000 cubic feet, so it’s big enough for the speakers and both subwoofers. During this transitional period in my life, where I have no home, I needed to create a place where I can continue to review products. Sometimes things just can’t be ideal, but you have to make the most of it, even if I went with smaller speakers, a front stage that’s less than $350 and sounds better than my old $3,000 front stage is hard to beat. And with proper manual home theater calibration, this setup sounds better than most. I’m not sure what your idea of “professional” is, but everything I am doing right now is 1,000% professional.
I thought the same but would never word it like that and I'm an asshole. Go figure
