    I do not following the car industry closely. 10 years ago I was still driving my old Corolla. In 2014 it was beyond my wildest imagination that China could produce a car like this. The Economist's Simon Wright wrote about China's EVs and "China Speed." This BYD Yangwang U9 represents the speed of China's EV industry and this car's performance on the race tracks.

      @dave4803 11 месяцев назад +24

      @@bobbydejesus6822 I respectfully disagree and for the following reasons.
      This car is more like a car than a tesla, looks to be put together better.
      Has better styling and is more built around a real driver than a poser who wants to show off, your typical tesla owner.
      This is a drivers machine that will put a smile on your face no matter the setting, on the road, on the track or just parked up outside your house.
      It is a fair price, good looking and looks fun to drive.
      Most real drivers don't want an iphone on wheels, they want a real car like this.
      The more dated nature of the car as you call it makes it more car like and easier to work on.
      This car has no current equal for the price, speed and styling.

      @Wheelsboy  11 месяцев назад +3

      As someone else pointed out, the SSR has three motors, not 4, but you’re completely correct about how one motor doesn’t account for that weight difference. I think the difference is accounted for, at least in large part, by the added weight of the hydraulic suspension and the significantly larger battery (100 kWh vs 74.69 kWh). As for how they compare from behind the wheel, I’m very much hoping to be able to answer that question after I drive them this year!

The Corvette isn't made to be a supercar... though some of the higher end models begin to approach supercar territory. Still... Vettes start at around $70k. If this car is $140k, then it's not a fair comparison. But that said, I bet the Corvette would still put up a helluva fight.
