Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban for advocating education for girls, marked her 16th birthday with an impressive speech at the United Nations, where she said education could change the world. Wearing a pink head scarf, Malala told UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and nearly 1,000 students from around the world attending a Youth Assembly at UN headquarters in New York that education was the only way to improve lives.

Those who disliked are animals

I love her so much, she is a genuine hero in the truest sense.

Your courage is an example needed in this crazy world we are living in. Don't give up. Your awesome :)
thank you thank you for once i feel proud to pakistani.
Great
I'm all for education for other countries as long as we here in The U.S. do not have to pay for it. We need our money here for our children.
Is it really necessary to hold some old man's hand in order to make a statement in UN?
And what is wrong with making an UN statement to promote education??
Indeed! Well done Malala....and God Bless You!
You're against talking to the Taliban and you're against military intervention??
What are you for??
There is an international conversation going on about whether or not extreme violence against innocent civilians is part of true Islam. The West needs to be part of that conversation. We have an opinion in the matter.
that is shockingly rude
True leader. Brave malala.
Divine feminine Expressing oneness
Well, yes, it is scripted. She is indeed reading from a script, but... that's how speeches normally work. It doesn't mean she was handed a script by "leftists" and forced to read it. Given her obvious intelligence and remarkable self-assurance, I'd say that's a fairly unlikely scenario.
American parents take note - put down your Justin Bieber and one direction mindfuck and show your kids someone to really look up too..
She got shot on the top of her head. I think it's entirely just her accent.
Sorry but extremists reject the idea of constructive criticism
Good luck trying to reverse that
all pakistaniz love u malala....
very mature for a sixteen years old
Whoever dislike this video is taliban
There is no amount of political tinkering in the way of reform which is going to improve our quality of life if we do not have the teachings of equality, serving, sharing, and giving unconditionally instilled in our lives.
If I would be Mean,I would reply that Ted Bundy was a High Educated Person, but he's Among The Few Exceptions Of The Rule. And Also The Book Must Not Be Mao's "Red Book".Just Kidding.Lady Malala is so Right About Her Statement. :) Life is a daily Miracle.Universal Love is an Eternal One. :)
Brother, it is not what you think. A lot of what you hear is propaganda.
Obviously one side of her face has some paralysis. You can't see that only one side of her mouth moves? Where in your head were you shot?
>>> Do not despair, if you want real changes from the destructive way that we live there is a solution to the problems that will benefit everyone, but you have to take the first steps towards change.
Well done malala. No thanks to god!
She speaks so well
Great essay.
