    Which part would output/emit hot air (due to the process, if there is) into the environment? Is it the cooling tower? and would such cooling tower be mouted on top of the building roof?

    • @zebralearningsenglish-pn6fl
      @zebralearningsenglish-pn6fl  9 месяцев назад +3

      In some HVAC systems, the chilled water pump may serve multiple AHUs. If turning off the AHU means that no cooling is required in any part of the building, it may be reasonable to turn off the chilled water pump to save energy. However, if there are other areas that still require cooling, you should keep the chilled water pump running.

    why does this system need a cooling tower if it already has a chiller. Seems that the cooling tower only contributes to cooling the water by 5 degrees, a marginal contribution.

      The Chiller is using the water from Cooling Tower to Cool down the temperature of the Refrigerant.
      In Air Cooled Chiller, the chiller using Air to cooled down the Refrigerant Temperature.
      So, Cooling Tower is much important Component in a Chiller system.
      How Cooling tower works and How the water from the Cooling tower is used in the Chiller these are explained in the previous video.

    How does water go to cooling tower from condenser witout pump

    • @zebralearningsenglish-pn6fl
      @zebralearningsenglish-pn6fl  Год назад

      Actually the condenser water pump is pumping the water from chiller to cooling tower.
      The chilled water pump is pumping the water from chiller to AHU.
      The one pump is doing the both jobs.
      In some of the chiller plant we can see two pumps called Primary pump and secondary pump.
      Primary pump is used to pump the water to chiller and secondary pump is used to pump the water to AHU or cooling plant.
      But in some of the plants only primary pump is enough to pump the water to chiller and AHU or Cooling tower.
      Here I have mentioned primary pump chiller plant.
      Thank you asking your doubts.
      If you need more clarification please don't hesitate to ask.

    Chillers with AHU doesn't make sense to me! Why not just use AC and put the evaporator in the AHU?
    I've seen some buildings that don't have the AHU but the chiller's cold water goes into the building and special radiators with blowers cool down the interior.

    • @zebralearningsenglish-pn6fl
      @zebralearningsenglish-pn6fl  Год назад +2

      It's based on the size of the area where we want to cool down. If the area is small, we can use FCU which is like AHU but small in size. FCU uses the chilled water from chiller and blows the cooled air. but, for the largest areas, AHU is the efficient one to cools down the room temperature.

      Where did the water going into the evaporator to produce the chilled water come from? Is there a tank in the AHU that is sending water to the chiller?

      @zebralearningsenglish-pn6fl  8 месяцев назад +1

      Now I can understand your question. There will be a tank called Makeup tank. From that tank, a pump is connected to the pipeline of the chiller. From that tank, water will be filled throughout the chiller pipeline first. Then the water continues to circulate in a closed loop. If there is any leakage of water in the chiller pipeline. From the makeup tank, the water is again added to the chiller pipeline through the pump.
