Hey Dave, guy who works at a theater here. When it comes to trailers the studios actually delegate which trailers play in front of which movies and a schedule is produced for each theater then distributed. So yeah generally the trailers are all the same in front of major releases. Also, yes. They did "update" the Spiderman trailer and redistribute it.
I went in expecting the worst. Ended up loving it. Being wrong never felt so right.

If they wanted to reference 2, They could've made a reference to Oscar, the baby from the second one. Like running for mayor somewhere or as a lawyer commercial.

In the Ghostbuster-verse, I wonder if Phoebe and Egon didn’t shared the same kind of youth: Loving science but having trouble making friends and telling bad Dad joke to try to make make some friends. And I wonder if the way Phoebe met Podcast, or how they bound together to become friends is not similar as how Egon and Ray became friends.

The only thing I don’t like and make me cringe in Ghostbusters II is the GB II logo on the Ecto-1 and on the GB HQ sign. It doesn’t make sense. It’s like breaking the forth wall. Like if the characters where aware that they are movie characters. Beside that, I love GB II, but I would have to say that I now love as much GB: Afterlife as I love GB I.
Egon being my favorite GB (because he’s the scientific tinker of the gang. I always have a soft spot the Tinker characters) I was really touched with what they’ve done with him and the rest of the gang.
Made sure to not watch any trailers, took my kids to see it. Was better than I expected. Pacing of the movie was a little slow, but overall they did a great job. My kids loved it.
I think a lot of young people might be intrigued about finding out what Ghostbusters is all about just because the kids in Stranger Things wear the uniforms and of course Finn Wolfhard is in this new one.
When I went on a school coach trip to France the teacher put on Robocop for us to watch, not an edited for TV version, the full 18 certificate cut. We loved it!

I'm sure you've seen the articles/answers about GBII by now... but when I watched it I figured Ray's Occult was a pretty big wink at it.

I think that one of the reason Gozer had not much trouble getting away from the crossed-streams of Peter, Ray and Winston is because there was only a 3 stream at that time… Egon was missing… 🤔
This video got suggested so had to hear your point of view on it! I was positively surprised by it and think it was great! It was not the same Ghostbuster comedy like in 1 and 2, and more of an adventure Goonisque kind of thing, but I loved it. Very nostalgic and fantastic! :)
But the score for the original Ghostbusters movie is like the best thing ever made, so you guys are clearly weird about that. So weird.
Ghostbusters 2 score is also good for sure, and Afterlife score is also great but much of it is because of the shoulders it stands on. ;)
But Rob Simonsen did a really great job, good balance of using the old themes and adding his own things to it.

The IMAX complaint is weird. IMAX is not wider. It's taller. If you had to turn your head to watch The Dark Knight you probably sat way too close to the screen.

I felt it was pretty ok. I need to watch again...I am a big fan though. I admittedly watched on a gray area type of site and the sound was shitty. I feel the enjoyment would be enhanced if I could hear it or had captions available.
I liked the movie. I would watch it again. The only part I did not like was the last 25% of the movie.
