Honestly after my ZX7 track bike bucked me off in less than a millisecond, I had feared the inline 4 cylinder insta-high side coming out of corners. Also why motorcycles come and go but the Buell remains, almost 2 decades on.
Buell own the twisters, HP is not much help here for the big heavy machines. The XB9 revs faster than the XB12 (I have a 09 XB12SCG) love to ride this bike on Blue ridge Mountain and the Cherohala skyway.
@@superscooty it is definitely lacking at the HP, my XB12 has just over 100 hp with a race ecu and exhaust. I also have a EBR1190RX, the same ''bike'' with HP north of 185 is a beast. But, again, now with bikes over 200 hp in the same class, top end is lacking on the EBR.
That XB should be in its element on old 18...need to do a POV video of that ride, gas station to gas station (no stopping at the school, go all the way, lol)...should take 15 minutes...wink wink
You are a really good rider, very smooth. Our bikes make more power around 5-6k rpm, in other words you would be faster in a higher gear. Plus it saves wear on engine components and oil pump drive. Have fun!!
Thanks very much! This was with the race ecm installed so peak power was a little further in the rev range. Also I feel like Im letting the Buell community down but unfortunately I sold this bike and am currently in the process of building a metric (still v-twin) canyon bike. Ride safe and thanks for watching!
In term of engine performance yes. But the skill/level of the Buell rider is waaaay over the guy on the ZX10 in the curves.... And motorcycle pleasure is all about riding curves right?
It's cute how you think horsepower matters in the twisties. Horsepower doesn't get you up out of the corner. Torque does. And in that category , the Buell smashes the jap crap. Besides, the guy on the ninjas probably running through his top four gears trying to stay in his power band. I haven't heard the buell shift but a couple times. If this has to be explained to you, maybe you're best served by your ricegrinder... 🤡
I miss my Buell. That thing had me smiling all the time. I will have another one soon.

Absolutely! thankfully most of this ride was downhill and the buell was able to hold its own. Uphill theres no contest.
That’s the exact bike I want. Any of the 12SCG would work though.

Darn that zx10 is badazz😮😮😮😮
What year is your XB man?
2009 my friend
@@superscootywhy did you replace the handlebar?
What a ridiculous compaison. The ZX10R has twice the horsepower of the XB9.
