It might be the legal limit to the amount of time someone can be held in Contempt of Court without another hearing in the matter. This varies by jurisdiction, but essentially a judge shouldn't just be able to throw you in jail for a year for wearing flip-flops to court or some other violation. If he gave him any additional time then they would have to have another hearing on that matter instead of just continuing on regardless if his acknowledgement of the jurisdictional authority

What gets me is if you're not a citizen you have no constitutional rights. If you're claiming not to be the person named the court needs to take fingerprints and DNA. If you are talking mumbo jumbo you need a competency and mental health evaluation in custody and be made to pay all costs.

Yeah so a long time ago we agreed that the people who fall under the criminal code of a jurisdiction are subject to the same due process of that jurisdiction, regardless of their acknowledgement. What's hilarious is that they are trying to loop all of this in as if they had some form of diplomatic immunity - (You know, from a nation without a treaty with the United States? Lol) - when the reality is that people on diplomatic affairs CAN BE ARRESTED and CAN BE CHARGED for crimes based on their agreement with that other nation. The system is to keep diplomats - who are doing the job of representing the interests of their nation - from being arbitrarily seized while abroad. It doesn't absolve them of criminal behavior. @@patrickturner2417 - the defendant made a mockery of the proceedings. Laughing at the judge is highly disrespectful and grounds for contempt. Contempt can fall under both words and actions (to include body language). The problem is that defendants come into court and act like it’s their show. I’ve been in front of a Judge before and behaved in nothing but a highly respectful manner even when I was ruled against. A Judge has the power to put you in a situation where your freedom can be taken away from you. Why antagonize the situation by acting like an idiot in front of them?

He told the court, previously, that he wanted to represent himself. He told the public defender that he wants to represent himself.
But instead of moving FORWARD with the case, Simpson takes it BACKWARDS.

@@patrickturner2417 - wrong. The idiot THOUGHT he understood court procedure which is exactly why he needed an attorney to navigate this process. He wanted to move straight into a preliminary examination without the opportunity of discovery. Had this occurred, it would have been grounds for a dismissal and the Judge (who is actually an expert in the law and court proceedings) knows this. He is actually protecting the defendant from himself by not allowing the case to move forward at that time.
Imagine trading 30 days of your life to satisfy your ego.

I remember a Far Side joke where it shows a man talking to his dog. On one side it says, "What you say to your dog" and it has what the person is saying. One the other side it says, "What the dog hears" and it is "Blah Blah Blah..." Judges listening to "sovereign citizen" gibberish should just be like the dog and hear nothing but "blah blah blah..."

What gets me is if you're not a citizen you have no constitutional rights. If you're claiming not to be the person named the court needs to take fingerprints and DNA. If you are talking mumbo jumbo you need a competency and mental health evaluation in custody and be made to pay all costs.
I don't believe you're correct. Defendants who are aliens are entitled to the same protections as citizens.
You have plenty of rights under the constitution even if you are not a citizen. Read the amendments. There are certain things that apply to citizens only, but many of them apply to "people" or "persons". Due process applies to all people. Right to free speech applies to all people. Freedom from warrantless search and seizure applies to all people. Protection against self-incrimination applies to all people. Again read them. In the following, I give an example from the text of Section 1 of the 14th amendment. The first part (before the semi-colon) applies to citizens only, but the part after the semi-colon applies to "any person" as noted in the text. "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive *any person* of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to *any person* within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." People often make the mistaken assumption that all rights only apply to citizens, and that non-citizen have no rights. This is not true. It depends on the wording of the text, and the rights in question.
Yeah so a long time ago we agreed that the people who fall under the criminal code of a jurisdiction are subject to the same due process of that jurisdiction, regardless of their acknowledgement.
What's hilarious is that they are trying to loop all of this in as if they had some form of diplomatic immunity -

- when the reality is that people on diplomatic affairs CAN BE ARRESTED and CAN BE CHARGED for crimes based on their agreement with that other nation. They don't get parking tickets, sure, but they do get arrested for felonious behavior and that particular diplomat's immunity revoked.
The system is to keep diplomats - who are doing the job of representing the interests of their nation - from being arbitrarily seized while abroad. It doesn't absolve them of criminal behavior. In fact most agreements are clear that if the US can't return (ie eject) the diplomat to their nation for a trial there then they are subject to jurisdictional authority of the United States.

Talking to a SC is like talking to an animal that knows a few words. They don't really speak english or understand what you're saying to them.
That last one should've been 30 days more for a total of 90 days. They should not have continued until after those 90 days. I think they are still too lenient towards these crayon chompers.
