Hiya, the holiday boat you were following through the locks was one of our company's. The customers loved to watch your video that I shared with them, they are Dutch not German 😁😁 and one of our most lovely guests of the year! 👍
@RJ Original MOVIES It's probably real. There is a company that rents out narrowboats for holidays in the UK and their contact person's name is Paul Donnelly. Their ships also look a lot like the one in the video www.waterways-great-britain.co.uk/floating-holidays What are the chances of this being a coincidence? And that's an account that's over 2 years old.
Sadly the canal seasons ends; but OH what an enjoyable gift of well filmed, narrated, & edited vlogs it was. Looking forward to next season; and perhaps soon (hopefully) Van Touring. Have a Blessed Holiday Season, 👍👍👍👍👍
I really enjoy going on your adventures. I explored the Himalayas for 33 years and now sit back in old age and enjoy the armchair adventures, thank you very much!!
Even with the light rain , a beautiful day on the cut. Thank you for letting us tag along. Happy Holidays to you and your family and friends. Stay safe on all of your holiday adventures!
When I started out looking at these Vlogs, I had no idea what a narrow boat was or its intended use. 200 Vlogs later, with many others from around the world (if you read all the comments pinned to each Vlog), you have with you professional ability shown us what the inner parts of England are like, via the extent of the canal system. With these journeys we have seen the homes, country side, the various views of major cities, also having highlighted buildings, that have had a significant history to English manufacturing, and how the canals had an association with same. Along with the - swans (more swans) Herons, horses, sheep, low hanging tree branches and weeds, you have opened up to many people, who would consider visiting England, there is another way of seeing the country. I thank you for the journeys, it has been a pleasure to a companion (all be it from the seat in front of a computer), learning the "rights of passage" whilst cruising on a narrow boat. Also thank you for answering the questions raised (in various VLogs), it helped to understand what you saw, what was (or not) being down about various aspects of maintenance on the canal system. I look forward to further videos on this subject.
Looking forward to 2020 .Being stuck in a factory every day your videos are great escapism for 30mins .Thankyou for spending time filming, editing and posting for all of us to enjoy :)
I've reached a milestone - vlog no. 200. What a fantastic journey with you so far David. I've enjoyed every single minute. Love Del Boys narrow boat. So sorry your plans were dashed by the closure of the Macclesfield Canal. Thank you so very much for the wonderful adventures this cruising year. Looking forward to 2020, wherever you will be
Boy its hard to believe, how far you've come, 200 episodes. I remember your first video's, when you first got your boat. Thanks for many hours of enjoyment.
Dear David. You have to stop making me so envious of your British canal adventures. If I was 20 years younger I would love to purchase or rent a narrow boat and cruise from June until September. Tony, the extremely old ex-Yorkshire person from OZ.
i love how you capture the little things and your sublime beautiful narrative. im from england., stuck in USA. you make me fell closer to home. thank you.
Wow, I'll say it again that watching these videos on a big screen HD TV is the way to go. Thanks for the video and sound quality that sets this apart from so many other vlogs.
Swing bridges for a solo full timer are a pain, but for holidaymakers they are a novelty and, therefore, all part of the fun! I bet they actually wanted to work the bridges. Well, you can tell yourself that... 😄
What a wonderful 2019 season of you cruising the cut. A complete joy it was. May your winter time be stocked with plenty of coal/shore power, gin and tonic, and of course cheese sandwiches.
Sheepish he says, ha. Oh boy - the bridge misadventure sounds very frustrating. Been fun and quite enjoyable following you this cruising season. Has made my post op recovery a bit easier. The "not a vlog" posts are really nice for just relaxing and puttering around the house. Thanks!
Been working my way through your vids (and I say "working through"... what I'm actually doing is watching a few in order, then jumping around as things catch my eye). Really enjoyable, very relaxing, and love the commentary. Watching this one though, can't help but feel many problems here could have been solved with a pair of binoculars...
I really enjoy the vlog as well. Living in the US, it makes me super envious of being able to have a lifestyle like this. Closest I could get is living on a lake, or getting a boat big enough to sail up and down the coast. Highly considering coming to the UK and renting a hire boat for a big vacation.
Another awesome video. Makes me want to design and build a narrow boat canal from New York to San Francisco; the 1 Trillion price tag is not the problem, or the fun of going up Uranus in Missouri (has a nice fudge factory though), or the 800 flight of locks on each side of the Sierra Nevada mountains, or the ice breaking bow needed for part of the year, but the fact that Americans hate diesel Engines, and we all know petrol engines are very dangerous on boats.
Hello David thank you again for a fantastic vlog As always your commentary is so enjoyable and funny Thanks for everything Merry Christmas and a propherouse 2020
I also hope you a a propherouse read 'proper house' even a prosperous new year. Sorry Sheila, no offence I just found that spelling very funny considering David lives in a boat)))
Hi David Loved the vlog on the Macclesfield canal for the 10th time it bought back many memories of the time we had our own boat ( Angela Louise ) back in 2005 to 2010 this was the best time of our lives but sadly had to give it up due to old age, the Macc was by far our favourite canal as was the Peak Forest and the Cheshire Ring, after 11 years we still visit the canals often staying on caravan sites close by in our touring caravan..Keep boating ..
After a busy day in Washington DC, USA, I really enjoy sitting back, lighting a cigar, and enjoy your pleasant adventures! I do enjoy your accent 😊, It’s very relaxing 😎 . Thank you!!
Even the weather cannot take away the beauty of the countryside. I think you are a bad man David-letting those holiday makers do that work ha ha. I hope you have enjoyed this years cruising as much as I've enjoyed watching your adventures.
Thank you David for a great season of very interesting vlogs. I have learned a lot of British history and geography with fantastic views. Thanks again from cold and snowy New Hampshire, USA.
Don't you have some binoculars handy? We have some on our boat and use them a lot when on tour. Not only for reading the signs at the bank but also for watching fauna around us. Thanks for all the nice vlogs 2019. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2020. Have always a handful water under the keel.
Annoying as it is for filming, I just love those sorts of "moist" days in the UK. I think the "mists and mellow fruitfulness" were well captured! Great job!
My wife and I lived on a boat for 9 years from 1998.We now live in New Zealand and have watched your vlogs with great interest and many happy memories. We have recognised with pleasure many of the places you visit. We have often wondered where our old boat ended up as we sold her privately whilst we were at Rufford in the Fettlers Wharf Marina. We were thrilled to see what we think was our boat "Nutwood" when you passed one of the marinas on the Peak Forest Canal .We could clearly see the name although she is painted in a much darker green . The stern and portholes are distinctive and very familiar. Please keep up the good work and happy cruising.
Congratulations on a season well traveled. Wishing you in advance a lovely Christmas and a great new year ahead. And there's a backlog of vlogs from your earlier years which I had deliberately kept unseen to to see me through the next few months! So, cheerio till we meet again!
"Let's give it a go". Every British person I've ever know can be summed up with that phrase. Always the best. Must be the water. Hope your New Year is grand.
Oh... I totally enjoyed your whole Macclesfield canal tour. Watched all of them in one sitting. And was really sad when it ended. I was living in Manchester for a couple of years when I was studying there, and your whole journey just brought back so many wonderful memories. The scenic views, the stone cottages, industrial buildings, dry wall, fields, back gardens, everything ... everything just feels so nostalgic. Your storytelling is wonderful to listen too as well. Thank you so much for this! Looking forward to your next tour after the lockdown. P/s ... I wish you would bring us to some of your shopping trips, even if it's just buying cheese. Every time you moored and said you had to do shopping, I was expecting like a short go-pro tour of Sainsbury or something LOL!
Very nice. Oh could we have a fire side chat for a nice winter evenings viewing?? Lol. Happy Christmasmas when it comes. Here's to fair winds for 2020.
The greenery looks so much more vivid in the rain ... the puddles and the drips sets off the beauty so well ... some things are better enjoyed with rain gear on, especially when someone else is wearing it ... stay warm this winter and keep _our_ boat in good shape ... we'll see you again this spring ...
i love seeing the houses with the gardens that step down to the canal like at 9:04 .... i would love to be able to live in one of them ..come down in the morning with my coffee and cigarettes and have a couple ticks of toast on a little dock like that then in the evening being able to sit out there and enjoy the canal with my evening joint (yes i smoke cannabis but i dont drink alcohol so its a trade off i am sure having a pint out there in the evening would be lovely too)
Thank you again for taking us along for the ride. Tranquility seems to be the key word for this. Personally ,taking advantage of the German team is fair in my books as they still saw it as an adventure as for you it's an everyday occurrence that you deal with alone.
Thank you so much for blog, it always cheers me up and soothes my wearness after work. Looking foward to 2020 vlog. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Regards James McPHerson
Another great year cruising. I've been following your journeys on Google maps and it helps when you mention names of places etc that you pass. Greetings from down under.
I love the videos! I've watched a lot of them. I hail from Arkansas in the United States of America. I do hope you have a good Christmas and thank you for the hours of enjoyment.

Oh how fantastic! Haha Now I’m extra embarrassed that I got their nationality wrong too :-(
😂😂😂😂😂
@RJ Original MOVIES you most likely are correct, but you never know. Although I agree with you!
Naughty boy, now go and sit in the corner and wear some Leder Hosen. Nice cruise by the way.
@RJ Original MOVIES It's probably real. There is a company that rents out narrowboats for holidays in the UK and their contact person's name is Paul Donnelly. Their ships also look a lot like the one in the video www.waterways-great-britain.co.uk/floating-holidays

Your vlogs are probably the best antidote for stressful modern life that I can imagine. Thankyou
Sadly the canal seasons ends; but OH what an enjoyable gift of well filmed, narrated, & edited vlogs it was. Looking forward to next season; and perhaps soon (hopefully) Van Touring. Have a Blessed Holiday Season, 👍👍👍👍👍
Yes, some van vlogs soon but there’ll be more boat vlogs throughout winter, just not me cruising!
11:51 if you can read this sign, you are stuck.
Quintessential British weather, quintessential British wit. I love these vids.
Thanks for another fine season of cruising and some especially lovely scenery.
All the stress leaves me as I watch CruisingTheCut
I really enjoy going on your adventures. I explored the Himalayas for 33 years and now sit back in old age and enjoy the armchair adventures, thank you very much!!
Thank you!
I love your videos.. so relaxing and soothing.. no loud headbanging music intro... no flesh... just lazy cruising down a canal..
Even with the light rain , a beautiful day on the cut. Thank you for letting us tag along.
Happy Holidays to you and your family and friends. Stay safe on all of your holiday adventures!
Another beautiful canal... thanks for the 2019 vlogs David... Cheers from Missouri USA..
And indeed cheers from Kansas USA ( neighboring states by the for those not from here) much love God bless you all
The hire boaters were probably thrilled that you "let them" operate all of the swing bridges! ;-)
Haha OK, I’ll think of it that way!

I grew up in a hot, arid country, so this rain, and soft mist and gray, is all right with me. Loved it..thank you.
Looking forward to 2020 .Being stuck in a factory every day your videos are great escapism for 30mins .Thankyou for spending time filming, editing and posting for all of us to enjoy :)
End of travels does not mean you disappear, I'll be happy to see your next vlogs, thanks for everything you've shown us
Thanks for a great season. My coffee and I will be waiting right here for spring.
There’ll be more vlogs throughout winter, just not me cruising on my boat!
I've reached a milestone - vlog no. 200. What a fantastic journey with you so far David. I've enjoyed every single minute. Love Del Boys narrow boat. Thank you cruising the cut. Cheers and merry Christmas from Canada.
Boy its hard to believe, how far you've come, 200 episodes. I remember your first video's, when you first got your boat. Thanks for many hours of enjoyment.
Your narration reminds me of Ringo Starr's narration of Thomas the Tank Engine, satisfying very satisfying indeed lol
Dear David. You have to stop making me so envious of your British canal adventures. If I was 20 years younger I would love to purchase or rent a narrow boat and cruise from June until September. Tony, the extremely old ex-Yorkshire person from OZ.
Moored up for Christmas now! I wonder if those German holidaymakers are still out there kindly operating the swing bridges for others on the cut?? ;-)
i love how you capture the little things and your sublime beautiful narrative. im from england., stuck in USA. you make me fell closer to home. thank you.
Wow, I'll say it again that watching these videos on a big screen HD TV is the way to go. Thanks for the video and sound quality that sets this apart from so many other vlogs.
It may have been miserable to be boating in that weather. However, the result was very pleasant to watch.
AS ALWAYS , LOVE THE VLOG. TRULY THE MOST RELAXING PART OF ANY DAY.
I get as much enjoyment, ne amusement, from your dialog as the scenery you provide. (USA)
Love how you hit bottom trying to read the shallow water sign!
Sheepish he says, ha. Oh boy - the bridge misadventure sounds very frustrating. Been fun and quite enjoyable following you this cruising season. Has made my post op recovery a bit easier. The "not a vlog" posts are really nice for just relaxing and puttering around the house. Thanks!
There’s another notavlog lined up but probably after Christmas now :-)
You are so funny David. Your comments made me laugh "Pompous Overlord " Ha ha .Cheered me up in these lockdown days. Thank you.
Hopefully we won’t have to wait till spring to see you again! In any case, thank you for the vlog.
Thanks. There’ll be more vlogs throughout winter, just not me cruising on my boat!
200! I have watched, and enjoyed immensely, every one. Thank you so very much for all your work in creating these fine videos.
We call that sort of weather mizzle here...not quite mist, not quite drizzle. Very enjoyable and relaxing journey, thank you.
Seems like a good idea. I can't believe I didn't think of it myself ages ago.
Can't tell how much am loving your videos!soothing and treat to eyes. Pls continue making with your nice and funny commentary 😊🇬🇧
I truly enjoy the vlog. You have made me decide to come to the canals and hire a boat for a 2 week holiday
I really enjoy the vlog as well. Living in the US, it makes me super envious of being able to have a lifestyle like this. @@CruisingTheCut it is going to be next spring probably in late April early may
A rainy day on the boat is better that a dry day in an office!
I’m anxiously looking forward to your 2020 cruises

Sad to see 2019 has passed. Looking forward to more great vlogs in 2020! Have a very cozy and Merry Christmas!
Yet another relaxing vlog. Reminds me of Jack Hargreaves and his program Out of Town. The same calm and pleasant voice. Please keep it up.
wow, that was some shallow water, it was only up to the waist on those ducks !
My brother was conceived in 1 canal side 11.58 and my route to school for a while was along the canal. Thankyou very much.
"I felt sheepish." LOL You really pulled the wool over their eyes! (Like a lamb to slaughter, so to speak)
Thank you David for a great season of very interesting vlogs. I have learned a lot of British history and geography with fantastic views. Thanks again from cold and snowy New Hampshire, USA.
Oh well, thats my holidays finished for the year, thanks for taking me along for the ride 👍

Congratulations on reaching Episode 200. And, as always, THANK YOU. Happy Wintering, Hollers.
Bugsworth Basin just the most amazing place to be able to moor. We sadly could only manage 2 days but would have liked longer. Just soooo amazing
