Your videos are so informative for other boaters. You point out visitor moorings, supermarkets that may not be seen from the canal, Armco & Pin moorings are easy to see. Really useful.
Thankyou so much for confirming what Ive already told my wife, prior to our weeks Narrow boat holiday for May & Oct 2024, that it's pointless me wearing fancy new clothing and changing every day, when you get all dirty anyway...I for one won't be changing often 😁👍
G'day Phil and the cats. At 16:38 "I hate traffic noise." I totally agree with you. All of the Boaters I follow on RUclips have visited Bugsworth Basin and love the place. Even with that busy road near to the basin.
Thank you Phil! Beautiful shots of the reflections of the trees in the Canal! With your music making it a truly immersive experience! Hope the cats enjoyed their adventures!😊
Just spotted Michael and Joe (Minimalist) leaving Bugsworth. Love the drone lol I bought one and got it stuck in a tree having nearly killed myself getting it back I decided at 62 my tree climbing days are limited and I put it back in the box where it remains collecting dust. Great video, thanks Phil hope you are moored somewhere nice for the next little while. Cheers Alan.
I remember the bottle under the bridge from the previous video. ..lol Thanks for another delightful trip. I also enjoyed your short excursion on foot ☺
What a lovely canal the Peak Forest is Phil I noticed that you very briefly gave us a glimpse of Jo & Michael off the Minimal List channel when filming in the basin Here's hoping your well and keeping safe Thanks for the volg
Hi Phil Been looking forward to cruising with you this autumn, the sparkling sun and warm colours, stunningly beautiful. Could I make an observation regarding bridges? As you approach you jump forward to the bridge hole and as you leave you obscure the view behind. It doesn’t detract from my enjoyment of your video! When filming into the sun the view behind would be in full sun. Just a thought. A million paintings.
Hello again Alan ,thanks again for conveying me from my world into yours, that stretch of canal is truly beautiful which I done about about 15 years ago on a very good friends boat called ''BALOO''. Be with you in the next one, stay safe, Proper Job.
@@NarrowboatJourneys So sorry Phil,I get so engrossed in all the canal videos that are available now that take me back into the world I want to be in. I do watch all that come out and I have about a dozen that I look for every day, yours being one of those favourites. At 74 now and having owned 5 NBs since 1984 and wanting another one to finish my days, I do get a bit confused sometimes. Please accept my apologies and I look forward to your next episode. Be with you then.
@@NarrowboatJourneys Hello again Phil, in my reply to you yesterday I forgot to mention Alan. He of course is Narrowboat Ventures from Yelvertoft who I also watch regularly. Be with you again soon, Proper Job.
Excellent, as always. On other social media sites I see ever more people dreaming of selling up and even some who have sold up and are about to cast off. Your videos ought to be compulsory viewing for all of the dreamers because you show life on the cut as it is, warts and all. Your stuff is particularly useful for anyone considering of going solo - your tangles with swing bridges being a good example of what I mean.
Great comment here! The real parts are every bit as important to know. We are some of those dreamers you mentioned and we are literally longing and hoping this will one day come true for us. My wife loves rainy days which we understand is a huge part of the weather over there. We're from the U.S. which would mean a bit of work planning how we would go about doing this, but as I said, we truly do plan to give it a try. One way or another, we want to sell it all and either get an RV or Caravan as you call them in the UK, and travel. There is so much history in the UK and we find it fascinating! Every little bridge made of bricks from the days of yesteryear are beautiful. Wish us Luck!
I've been watching Narrowboat vlogs on RUclips for the last two years, and have only just stumbled upon your channel today! I very much enjoyed this presentation and your photography is excellent.
Lovely cruise..and I'm impressed that you know plants so well? How did this come about? I love plants. Well nature flora and fauna... But I am not that knowledgeable about any Latin names etc I do have what some call a green thumb. And a love of all creatures Great and small!! Lol...Very nice cruise Thank you!😊
Hi first time ive looked at your channel i love all things alternative this looks a lovely lifestyle indeed you seem a nice guy too do keep doing these vids for all of us trapped in the money making system which isnt really living is it lol
Thanks for posting this peaceful (I can't hear the traffic!) video. Nice to see "Perseverance" (Minimal List) gliding by in Bugsworth Basin. Stay safe.
Thank you. That was an old one - I don't do time-lapse much any more. I only did them then because that was the only camera I had. Also I had a very limited internet allowance back then. ;-)
Hello, Phil. I am Leigh in Houston, Texas. Just getting to know your channel. Looking forward to it, especially as a cat mom myself. Can't wait to meet yours. As a 30 year narrowboat inhabitant, perhaps you will answer a question for me: when did solar power become viable and widespread on the canals? Prior to that, I guess it was all engines or generators? Thanks.
Welcome aboard! I bought my first panel in 2001. A 60 watt panel that cost £330. since then the prices have steadily fallen. Last October I bought a 100 watt panel for £70.
Thank you. Lockdown doesn't make a lot of difference to me. I'm in isolation all the time anyway so hardly notice it. Fewer shops open, that's about it.
Wow 30 years ....iv got 12 years & 8 months to catch up with you lol...im on the middlewhich branch near Venetian Marina I believe you know it well.. hope to see you on the cut... love your videos ..

What a beautiful canal. So peaceful.
Love the pole assisted reverse wind. As a single-hander of 30 years that had never occurred to me. Always learning as a boater.
Thank you for the chuckle about the drone. I to think I'd have it in the ground in no time. Thanks for another great vid.

Bugsworth is definitely on the to-do list thanks for the "guide" to the area Phil 👍
Thank you. It's an interesting place. I would probably have stayed longer if it was more suitable for the cats.
Us posh folk what am living round here use the name Buxworth, it sounds so much more refined.
Nice stuff Phil, i was listening to your music today, very relaxing.

They did. I don't know them personally though.
Was that Minimal List I saw leaving Bugsworth?
Yes it was.

Yes, same boat. I'm a continuous cruiser.
Great camera composition & quality is top notch. Could I ask what camera you use on the front forward shots.
I was using a Cobra CDR820 dash camera back then. I've recently started using a Gopro which is even better quality.
It was nice meeting you at the Gurnett (NB Grace)
Pity we didn't have time for a chat. Maybe next time...
Did I spy minimalist in the background in buggsy basin?
You did. ;-)
Minimal List, on their VLogs, are still at the top of the Leeds Liverpool - they must be months behind on their videos
