Learning Watercolor: Let's Try Albrecht Dürer Watercolor Pencils! *Eye Study*

- For this eye study I used the Albrecht Dürer watercolor pencils by Faber Castell, which are really nice. (Full disclaimer: I added a layer with Polychromos at the end.) I learned a few things I want to do differently in the future, so I hope you can learn something too (but only if you are a novice at watercolor pencils like me, this is far from a tutorial...).
Enjoy!

Beautiful Amazing. Thanks for sharing it.
Thank YOU for the nice comment. 😊
It turned out great! 😍The iris looks so realistic! 👌👌
Thank you so much! 😍😊 I like the iris too! It just bugged me that the pupil was off-center, so that's what I tried to fix with the Polychromos. 😊🌸
Good job 😃😃😃😃😃😘😘😘😘🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you!
Looks realistic.. you really did a good job.
Thank you, Adam! 🌻🙂
Hi Steffi!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I would like to start doing hyper-realism and, therefore, what differences do you find between using Albrecht Durer dry and Polychromos for this type of work?
If you had to choose between these two, which one would you prefer?
Hello Silvi!
I've never tried hyper-realism, but I would think the Polychromos would serve you better in that they maintain a fine point better as they are somewhat harder. The Albrecht Dürer are nice for rough sketching, I find. I hope this helps! :)
@@oilonpaper Hi Steffy! Thanks for answering me. I understand, the Would Albrecht Durer dry have a more textured and irregular finish than the Polychromos?
@@silvi90333 I wouldn't really say that. It's just that they are somewhat softer than the Polychromos. A textured, irregular finish probably depends on the roughness of the paper you're using.
@@oilonpaper Thank you very much Steffi for your help. I send you a loving hug
