- Hello lovely People! Welcome back to The Art Hive! Today I'm doing a review on Faber-Castell's Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils! I've had this pack of 36 pencils for a few weeks now and have been meaning to try them out on a painting but wanted to test them out first to see what they could do. I've tried to include as much information about the pencils themselves in the commentary, as well as try out a few different techniques to see how they perform. NB One thing I did forget to mention was the watercolour paper I used for this review. I Used the HOT pressed Bockingford HP paper 300gsm.

I have used watercolor pencils from a very early age and I did not get the Albrecht Durer's until I was almost 50! I once thought Koh-I-Noor was the only company that made them! I soon learned better, but still bought them because we like our first successful art supplies and they worked so well for me! so many great tips and techniques for watercolor pencils!

Very thorough review!! I have a complete set and they are wonderful! I often use them with my Polychromos but I haven’t compared them to the Derwent Watercolour pencils. I’ll put that on my task list! 👍🏾👍🏾

I was mad the 36 set didn’t have flesh colors so I had to order them separate
What sharpener do you use I couldn’t understand what you called it I’d like to order them on amazon

Faber Castel description on Amazon says that these Watercolor pencils are permanent once they’re dry is that true.
Hi Raymond! I have not found this to be the case with these pencils - I just tested it out on a painting I did in December 2019 and the pencils still reactivate if I add water?
I’m addicted to these watercolor pencils just did a video also about my passion for them
I'll have to check it out! I haven't used these for a while but must get them out again 😊
Music is tooo loud when trying to listen to your explanations
