When trying to avoid too much water with watercolor pencils I put a damp folded paper towel into the bottom of a small bowl. Thats enough moisture to activate the pigment, the papertowel can be scrubbed into if color needs to be removed from the brush and there is the lip of the bowl available to help remove more water from the brush if necessary or to shape the brush against.
Love, love, love that water & sky drawing! Makes me want to drag out my Derwent w/c pencils which have been left alone in a drawer for too long! Guess I need to investigate your w/c pencil classes. TFS
I am very happy to finally learn more about the Inktense colored pencils. I am also very interested in taking the class that has the Sunrise paintings as bonus material. I want to know a few things: Can I pay for it tomorrow, and then wait for over a week to start it? Will you have a limit of students that will be allowed to take these classes? Or, will it be a work at your own speed class? I am so excited to learn from you, and I have all the supplies already. Thankyou, Kris
The one I’m just working with now is a handheld blackwing - bit.ly/45L2yYC - I’ve been looking for a smaller replacement for the Afmat I use in the studio - amzn.to/3sneyfM .
Sandy, I forgot a question from my reply of about 2 minutes ago. Would you consider creating a lesson for using the Kuretake Zig Clean Color Brush pens? They now come in 150 colors (!) and their brush tip feels very different to any other maker, even classic watercolor brushes. Have you used these brush pens before? Thanks!
Can watercolour mediums be used for coloured pencils? To create different effects whilst adding the water? I have some from QOR and W&N but never thought to use them for pencils until I saw your sky.
monarch butterflies are common as mud in Australia - or at least they used to be, not so much now insect populations are declining. I never really thought of them as beautiful until I saw your drawing.

I have a whole bunch of videos with them🥰

You can use pencil on top of watercolor, but not the other way around. Pencil is generally water resistant.
i like watercolour pencils for their control, but the lifting problem is def an annoying issue😕
