This set was so incredibly intense. My heart was racing. What an incredible showing from the best American and Canadian players.
It’s nice to see Riddles believing in Kazuya more and it paying off. He’s finding new ways to win neutral, especially with his aerials, and taking game 5 with down air of all moves. Light looks terrifying as usual
You can tell riddles was super nervous dropping electrics, but LFG riddles good stuff
I haven’t seen as many sds in a major as this one, on top of that execution issues and players complaint about the cold all weekend, the cold is likely the culprit

Nair into Upsmash literally prevented Riddles from using Rage Drive at all except once or twice
Both of these characters go literally the same thing, just one never let's you breathe and one who just straight up kills you

This set was very intense. They pretty much took turns destroying eachother, and it cultivated into a game 5 last hit scenario.
But boy that last down air had some HBox DI going on. I verbally went... EWWWWW.

Kazuya and Steve are S Tier im tryna tell yall. Kaz's disadvantage is highly overatated. His aerials have invincibility, he has an aerial command grab, and he can mix up his recovery/landing
Hes hard to use but just because his tools are hard to use correctly, doesnt mean the character is the problem. Its ths PLAYERS aka git gud Ultimate gives every character tools to handle disadvantage outside of their kit to learn the game engine and stop complaining about "disadvantage"

As great as it is to see someone improve I just can’t root for riddles, kazuya is such a stupid unfun character that’s just an input challenge, yes fox is also crazy but he can’t true combo a 0 death, he needs to react and read a lot of options, and he dies so easily himself

The Game gives to Kasuya super attacks more interesting and strong than the principal melee character to incentivate people plays with them. Ultimate destroyed melee.

Bro light had a 10-0 streak on riddles. That means it literally had nothing to do with Kazuya, Light could handle it. Riddles just stopped pushing advantage for no reason this time around and actually look at what light is doing. I think you are just salty. And it goes both ways as well. Did you see how when light hit riddles, Kazuya just kept on getting hit? There is literally nothing kaZ can do when he gets hit. If you play the matchup right, your life gets way easier and that’s evident from the 10-0 streak on Riddles.
