This advice is mostly for YOUNG people in their 20s. Obtain job SKILLS such that you are VALUABLE in the market place. Yes. This can be hard to do when you are working 40 hours a week in an auto factory. Take some night classes at a community college. Consider getting into the trades, etc. ALSO, Learn how to handle your money. SAVE your money and when you have enough money for a down payment then BUY a home and DON'T rent. When you are 65 then it is much better to have a PAID OFF HOUSE versus renting. Stay away from drugs and alcohol.
IF you are a parent with kids still in grade and high school then do whatever it takes to instill personal responsibility to acquire job skills. You want your kids to have a better life than you have.

You’re not getting the pensions back and keep on smoking if you think the 32 hour work weeks are going to be a thing. At this rate, these companies are going to move to FL for production where unions have been annihilated. Also keep in mind this guy isn’t necessarily broke with a 200k salary which he is looking to increase by increasing union dues with the contract negotiations.

Exactly; they are fighting for a 40% raise which is unheard of. And with the cost of new cars by far the highest ever; all they are doing is pushing the cost even higher. First with their strike which creates supply shortages and then if they win, the CEO's raise cars by another 15 or 20%. They should relocate to a state that has workers who would be very happy making $75,000 for a 32 hour work week

@@888strummerThe "Big Three" automakers have made $21 billion in the first six months of 2023. Corporate CEO pay went up 40%.
Corporations talk about how workers being treated fairly is going to drive up the cost of vehicles.
In the last four years, the cost of vehicles went up 30%; our wages went up 6%.
This boils down to one thing: It's corporate greed. It's not our contracts, it's not our members' demands.
Either you stand for a billionaire class where everybody else gets left behind, or you stand for the working class

@@markhudson6137 Your union leaders are saying no to a 20% pay increase where almost every worker would be making over $100,000. Instead your union leaders are pushing for a 40% pay increase and for you to work just 4 days a week instead of 5. To many of us hard working Americans; it sounds like pure greed on the union's part.

So....how is that the union's fault again? Also, what incentive would union protected workers have to bankrupt the business that their livelihoods rely upon? Are unions the ones who get golden parachutes worth millions of dollars after a company fails or is that management? I'm just asking the basic questions.

What a bunch of Fools, the price will be so high no one will purchase them and the company will go out of Business. One can make small Pay Raises, but not big Salary Prices, This will have a great Disaster for America. Americans will loose their Jobs as no one will purchase the Higher Price Vehicles.

I promise you Elon won't see this, now stop deepthroating that boot and get some rest so you can wake up early tomorrow and exchange your labor for a meager wage/salary while corproate managers like Elon make billions in profits.

The incredible GREED of these unions is...., 40 % pay raise, same pay as a CEO, trying to catch up to what was lost to Covid, this is really too much...

The "Big Three" automakers have made $21 billion in the first six months of 2023.

You should walk in our shoes sometime the 40% you talk about is (JUST) we want what was giving up some years ago to help the auto industry stay a float its time to pay back what we gave up in other words its time to pay up.

I remember the jeep plant was about to leave Toledo an the major i believe it was Carty Finkbiner that made a deal for jeep to stay by giving jeep a no tax bill for years,so I'd be careful what y'all ask for because they've been wanting to move that plant for years.Mexico would love to have those jobs for $3.00 an hour, that's what happened to Toledo's Textile Leather wright across from jeep, They closed us down and moved to China, be careful what cha ask for y'all might get it good luck 🤞.
