Wall Street says its $55-$65/hr when including total the compensation like health care, 401k matches, profit sharing, etc. I'm just trying to understand from someone who actually works there...Thanks!
I don’t work there, but From what I’ve seen, over the years there’s been a lot of rule changes and restructuring from all sides, so chances are it’s all true to some extent. If you started working there in the 80’s/90’s, you most likely have pension, good wage that was fought for, etc, if you’re new you’re getting thrown under the bus with temporary workers being stuck at low rate for several years and lack of retirement and future path to making a wage that ensures some sense of independence. And lots of people in between. It seems to depends on who was grandfathered in, and individual plants being somewhat different in how they handle it.
@teslapower5461 not that they can't, they won't. Once you find out numbers you can do the math and find out the truth. For instance I saw video yesterday about a guy on the picket line who said it took him 9 years to get from the lowest pay to the highest. I have heard highest pay is $32/hr. If we assume a low pay of $18 that is a 77% increase in 9 years or just slightly under 9% per year. I wonder how many here have gotten a 9% raise just once in the last 9 years. I know I havent.
Low tier employees starts at 15.50 an hour and medical insurance only but the problem for me is where does labor laws stand in on this situation how can they just allow the corporations to work employees at full-time hours but lower pay and now they are cutting hours to make it look good for them which is not fair cuz obviously people have learned how to make some ends meet under these circumstances and now they are not on schedule at all so now they have no income.. like really how fair is this. Labor laws needs to get in place and pay these people for there hard work and time.
I hope I am wrong on this but I am starting to see similarities of what happened in 1976 with the united rubber workers that destroyed Akron, Ohio. Rubber workers went on strike for 3 to 4 months.
