Does Shawn Fein's negotiation tactics really speak for the majority of the 400,000 UAW members since only 28,056 voted for him? It seems like he isn’t taking into account the realities of today's auto markets - The Big Three's market share has been steadily declining since the massive 1971 strike. And adjusting for inflation, the Big Three's profits are nowhere near what they were in the mid-late 1960s

I think the Big 3 are looking forward to a strike. They know demand is dropping like a stone for ICE vehicles and they need to ramp up EV’s. This buys them some time and helps with high inventories and will be spun into excuses for the serious situation they are in of not being able to mass produce a desirable, quality EV. Tesla is as helpful as they can be with having open patents so that any company is free to duplicate their technology. They have opened up their charging networks to most other EV makers and are offering to licence their full self driving software. The truth is tho that the dwindling ICE market is financing the EV development, so OEM’s have to tout the benefits of their new electric vehicles and still try to make a profit selling ICE cars. The truth is none of them are transitioning fast enough and will either go broke or will only be a fraction of what they are now in a few years time. Ford lost $32,000/EV they sold in the last quarter. I don’t think the automakers will want to resolve this quickly.
Shawn you say that after 90 days employees working across from each other should make same. what about apprentices why does it take years to make the same as journeyman when they do same work everyday. I know to you guys high numbers means high votes for re-election, who is looking after trades concerns ????
You’re not owned anything comrade, the benefit is you have a job. Second just because the CEO had a 40 % increase does not equate that each worker should get a 40% increase. The CEO’s job is to make money for the investors and his compensation is based profit. Nobody Is forcing people to work for the big three.
What you’re saying is the company can pay their executives as much as they want because they hold a challenging role, and they can pay the workers as little as they could? Nobody forces UAW to stay, however, don’t you think it’s fair to get a share of the pie if the companies are making billions? America was built by the working class, your logic is what furthers wage disparity gap and the decimation of the middle class of America. Why is it difficult for most of us to understand that higher profit equals better wages. It’s America! Corps have the right to be greedy, workers have right to demand for good wages.
Waffle House for $18 an hour doesn’t give a Christmas bonus check each year, a cola check for $1500 each year , a minimum profit sharing check of $12,000 each year, paid health care , the ability to awol several times and not be terminated or the ability to be reinstated after being fired . Just saying Mr. Fain I mean Fang
There has never been min 12000 on profit sharing.. and nothing is given to us the UAW FIGHTS FOR US! Go check your facts before coming on here just saying anything
Since you don't know that you don't know......The $1,500 check (before taxes) currently is every OTHER year, and that is IN LIEU (that means instead of or in place of) a raise, meaning *no raise* that year. We didn't get raises at Ford from 2005 to 2015, TEN YEARS. There is NO SUCH THING as a minimum profit sharing check each year. Profit sharing varies EVERY YEAR on a year-to-year basis, based on the company's profits. I've never seen a $12,000 profit check (even before taxes) at Ford. Paid health care is how it used to be for ALMOST EVERY WORKING AMERICAN in decades past. It was taken away from you and no one fought to get it back. It was just "accepted" as the new reality. Maybe if you were in a union though.....just sayin......
No clue what your talking about at all...the Christmas bonus was gone last contract and after taxes on inflation bonus you bring home 850..for a whole year woooow...and no one in louisville has ever got a 12k profit sharing..get fkn clue

@@lindas7556 400,000 current members in the UAW, only 14% voted in the last election which is 56,000, and Fein won that by 50.1% = 28,056 So is he really speaking for the majority of the members?

Well see how much the big 3 cares about their employees on sept. 14 🥂🇺🇲
More job’s going to Mexico
It's a LIE IT'S A LIE NOTING BUT CRY BABIES !!
Tired of playing video games? Thanks for stopping in 💋🐴
Shawn you say that after 90 days employees working across from each other should make same. what about apprentices why does it take years to make the same as journeyman when they do same work everyday. I know to you guys high numbers means high votes for re-election, who is looking after trades concerns ????
No sympathy for the UAW.
You voted for this.
No one cares what a moron like you thinks or whether they have your sympathy.

@@Michael-fl1tm Explain why that is?
You’re not owned anything comrade, the benefit is you have a job. Second just because the CEO had a 40 % increase does not equate that each worker should get a 40% increase. The CEO’s job is to make money for the investors and his compensation is based profit. Nobody Is forcing people to work for the big three.
Let's see how much money the company and shareholders are going to make if the workers go on strike. Look what happened with UPS.
@@jonwasowski Or we could look at yellow freight and Hostess Brands.
@@jonwasowskiYou don’t need to worry Tesla and Toyota will kill Ford and GM anyway 😂😂😂

Maybe when you grow up Punky, you will understand how comparing the big 3 with waffle house is silly!
That’s funny...... I must have missed out on that Christmas bonus the last few years. Minimum 12,000 profit sharing??? Wrong again
He makes no sense!
Employees from 2008 until 2023 AGREED to the employment terms of NO PENSIONS, yet they still signed on for the job!!
