A truly marvelous pilot that I had the pleasure to do many learning flights with him, but sadly no longer with us. He would tell you about situations that you need to avoid whilst flying and then go on to demonstrate what would happen and how to recover from it. The best one was a full engine off-landing onto sloping ground and it was all about keeping you safe. Sadly Dennis lost his 18 year old son to an helicopter incident which was nothing to do with his flying skills but the poor maintenance of his helicopter by the previous owner which resulted in the tail breaking away and resulting in a crash, it also took the lives of two of his friends.
