I work for Indiana Flooring and they had a guy come out from Ohio Valley flooring too give a seminar on LVP planks. It was kinda funny listening to the old guys i work with testing the guy lol. He didnt really teach me anything I didnt already know but Im always willing to learn! I wanted to tell them instead of paying those guys to come out we should just watch some FBSB!!! Between you and some of the smarter guys Ive had a chance to work with my seams and other things have improved greatly! Thanks for the great informative and interesting videos man!

Hey reuben,your vids are top notch.I always remove blue backing on my seam points(width of tape),and i also remove around whole perimeter.It’s extra work,but i know it’s essentially turning it into soft back,to lock on pins better.Seam tape adhere’s better as well.Cheers!!

can you do a breakdown of where on a kicker your knee should hit and how to get it there better I'm 6’2 and when I knee my kicker I always land it a little too low and hurt for a while after when I put on steps I have to use my body weight to stretch it onto steps and staple to the tackstrip to keep it in place I would like to learn the right way of doing it but currently that's the only way I can install steps and get thru the rest of the week I’m close to my second year of flooring installation lvp took me two weeks to learn carpets taking alot longer theres so much behind it I cant do seams yet but I can install rooms easily - the kicker part it still is on the strip and doesn’t show any signs of looseness anywhere thank you
for more information my stepdad is a 5’5 man and cant really teach me how to kick properly for me bc he is significantly shorter so I’m stuck tryna learn the right way for me on my own unless another installer can help I want to have pride in my work and go home not feeling like I just got out of a ufc fight and got kicked in my calves the entire time limping around everywhere 😭
I use a weight which helps the glue get pushed into the backing

Cant do that awl trick down here in florida. 99% of job are in concrete floors. What would u do then? i just try to get them together and lined up as fast as i can and never had any problems knock on wood

I butchered a row cut to do a seam today. It's on mid grade builders' carpet. It's about a 15-foot seam. I couldn't get the cutter to follow a straight line. Plus, I think the rows are warped a bit. Not sure what I should do. Luckily, I have a couple of chances left to make it right. Never used a row cutter before. 10 years ago, I made a pretty decent seam cut with a straightedge technique. Any suggestions? Im doing this seam on factory edge to factory edge.
Most of the time the rows are not straight so trying to make them straight will only cause problems. Let the row guide your row finder instead of trying to go straight.
@FloorsbySouthernboys ugh I ended up free handing it. I'm happy with it. Burned it in. Came out good enough for the girls I date. Think I need to practice more on shorter seams. Before attempting a real long runs like that. Used a couple cold boxes of heavy titles as a weights. That actually worked well to cool it down quickly. Next, I have to go rent a power stretcher from HD. Then I'm all done. Feel like I owe you. Will look into some of your merch here soon to show support for ya. Thank you.

That’s awesome. I’m glad you’re at least conscious of it, a lot of people ain’t. I have redid a lot of jobs where the glue is halfway melted.
