- Let’s take a look at all the stage Fatalities from Mortal Kombat - UMK3 over the SNES and Sega Genesis and Arcade and see which ones ultimately look the best!
Enjoy!
The stage fatalities were always the finishers I looked forward to seeing the most with each new MK game. Playing the first game as a kid at the arcade, I knew I wasn't quick or skilled enough to pull off the fatalities, so it was always my goal to reach The Pit since it only requires a simple uppercut.
When the sequels released, I remember being genuinely angry that the stage fatalities there required button inputs meaning a simple uppercut would no longer suffice lol
I still remember seeing the pit II fatality for the first time at the mall. The ground coming closer and the kombatant helplessly grasping at nothing -- what a klassic.
Did anybody notice on the Sega version of MK3 that the Tower animation was a bit different? When Sonya was falling her head hit every floor before landing on the spikes and also on the Pit III that they fell faster? I like that small detail
Yea I like that added animation
Are you going to play the 3DO versions of Mortal Kombat 1-3 soon?
Yeah, the arcade beats all. :) I guess the argument can be made for Gens Bell Tower because of the way the body is slamming through the stories, though I'd go for the arcade as well. Btw, in Plus version there's actually a bell in Bell Tower and you can ring it if you hold up after the stage fatality input. Also, there's a catch regarding the acid pool finisher (for almost all ports of MK2). KO the opponent near either corner, jump over them while they're dizzy then perform the stage fatality and you'll uppercut them into the wall behind you. Though I'm sure you already knew that. :/ And there's that Dead Pool glitch where the defeated player (on rare occasions, even the CPU) can knock the winner into the acid. When near the corner, jump over the opponent so that you are now closer to the wall but still able to throw the enemy behind you. Now make your last attack one of those throws after which enemies immediately stand up (all ninja throws, Baraka's throw, Liu Kang's, etc). Immediately after that final throw animation, on the loser side hold down, lp + lk and keep pressing hp. The defeated player will be able to throw one last uppercut and, if the other player is close enough, launch the winner into the pool. :)
I'll go with the SNES's version of the spike ceiling fatality, the scream immediately cuts off once contact is made with the spikes while the scream of the arcade's goes on years later.
The SNES Pit 2 drop is cool in how the ground comes twisting in. I remember in earlier versions of the arcade before 3.1 the player falling would be zooming out from the camera which I thought was cooler even if the guy dropping looked over pixelated at first.
The Genesis version of MK2 playing a little synth wobble instead of Shao Kahn saying “Fatality” always makes me chuckle
Always liked Pit I and II best.
I like all the stage fatalities
The Arcade Original Pit 1 just has a different feel and sound. Amazing
Absolutely. It’s very dark 🔥
The SNES Dead Pool has the opponent yelling and then suddenly stops when entering Acid Pool. The Arcade has the opponent continue to yell while submerged for a long time, lol. SNES all day, baby 🍻🤘🏼🔥
I think this video should've been which stage fatalities from consoles comes close to the arcade versions of MK - UMK3 and or why. I like all of them yet none measure up to the arcade lol
This is a good idea, and something I’ve already started a couple weeks ago putting together. Watch out for it 👊🏼 great minds think alike
MKII The Pit II (SNES) is my favortie Stage Fatality.
Pit I and II.
Agreed 👊🏼
If you really listen, the SNES Shao Kahn voice in MK2 sounds better. And the hitting sound effects for MK3 sound better on the SNES as well. Everything else overall is obviously the Arcade.
Hmm interesting.. that’s why I like hearing everyone’s opinion, little subtleties make big differences some times. Thanks for the comment Jay 🔥
“THE ARCADE”
Mortal kombat will always be the legend
Thanks bushy I can see you put some time and love to edit this one
Thanks brother, I do what I can with my limited tech knowledge lol glad you liked it 👊🏼
Those nunchucks 😍
Lol just fooling around 👊🏼
Sheessshhh 6:57 😬😬😬😬 music and sound effect
I think that I prefer the arcade version but the other two are not bad and look just as good adding in stuff or removing stuff from the arcade like the pit 2 on snes has the screen twist when they are falling on the rocks but removes the screen scrolling down after the initial uppercut it just comes down to what you like to see and hear during these stage fatalities
Absolutely. Great comment my friend 👊🏼
@@BushyStallion Thanks for replying it's super cool to see that the person I'm watching actually respond it feels great keep up the good work on your videos also nice nunchuck skills 👍
@@Yayman667hey no problem.. you’ll notice I don’t reply to replies as much as RUclips studio doesn’t notify me of those so I literally have to scroll the comment sections in videos themselves to see the replies, so when I miss them just know I’m not purposely ignoring anyone. I appreciate you Yayman, and thanks for the nunchuck comment also 😂 I was just messing around I really have no idea what I’m doing with them lol
The Pit Two Arcade
Lol I was I'm the arcade with my dad. And the a.i. preformed the pit two stage fatality I couldn't believe it I was like 9 or 10. My dad without missing a beat goes "holy shit" . Lol
Solid choice 👊🏼
Arcade has all of those beat!
The PIT..Mortal Kombat Trilogy N64.
I looked this up based on this comment and found hilarious glitches that I wish I knew existed when I was playing that version.
So... which one had the best stage fatalities, I'm still not clear on that ).
🤪🤪🤪
Genesis, for as off the sounds and music are, I still like it better than the Super Nintendo sounds. I know it’s closer to the arcade, but it sounds more dull
I get what you’re saying, Genesis sounds “unique”
@@BushyStallion RIGHT! That’s how we can put! It’s way off, I know, but that music is still iconic in its own way.
To get back to the real question you asked, Pit 1, Dead Pool are my favourites, mainly because they’re easier to execute. I too liked the perspective of Pit 2, and Subway to me is the funniest one. Mk3 / Umk3 stage finishers are my least favourites
……….The Arcade………..Toasty!! 🫡😆
Do you play much modern mk1 ? Would you ever stream that ?
I don’t play much of that at all..
Solid opinion
sega genesis MK2 the dead pool
Sega Genesis Pit!
Arcade wins fatality.
SNES for sure 😎
Ah! A fellow ‘chucker, eh?
Awesome TMNT reference lol but no, just fooling around 👊🏼
5:43 oh wah??
The Subway Fatality was so lame in MK3 and it really shouldn't have been. Tiny little image, slow moving and it just knocks them over. Although, credit to the Genesis version, the train is at least moving faster than the others. Fortunately the remakes of it were so much better in MK Armageddon and even better in MK9.
Mk3 genesis pits are atrocious
They’re rough you’re not wrong lol
@@BushyStallion 🤣 its like shao khan didn’t have the budget for the pit 3!
@@xafronicajonesor the spikes at the bottom of the bell tower lol
Let's be honest: all fatalities in MK3 are bad hacks, very lazy.
The snes n arcade are pretty much identical for mk2. and Sega is a joke for all 3 although bell tower is pretty interesting 😅
You’re not wrong 👊🏼
@@BushyStallion 😅hey it is wut it is🤷🏽♂️
8:38
Solid Bell Tower Fatality 🔥
@5:10 It's funny how Sonya sounds like a guy lol
Agreed lol 👊🏼
The arcade is the best
Pit II will always be my favorite. A shame MK 9 didn't include it, they just mixed it with MK 1's. I also remember when MK Trilogy came out, buying it and getting home trying to hit that fatality and it never worked. Called support and was told it wasn't included. Super bummed.
If only they could combine the Genesis music (I’m probably biased since that’s the version I grew up with) with the SNES gameplay and you’d have the perfect home port of MK II
Arcade Wins!
Flawless Victory!
FATALITY!
Darryl, I hate that I genuinely want to watch the play through of MK Mythologies continue. Really that or Shaolin Monks. Hope everyone is doing well!
It’ll happen soon, once I have a little more free time I gotta be in the right mindset to tackle those games 👊🏼
@@BushyStallionI get that!! It’s fun to watch but terrible to play. Thanks for all the consistent uploads and engagement with us viewers. I think a lot of us feel like you’re a genuine friend to us.
@@jeremyf1901 well if Jeremy is your real name then hey, we both know each others names, we’re practically brothers! Lol thanks for the comment my friend and I appreciate you 👊🏼
Nice to officially meet you, Daryl 👊! My name is Jeremy.
The subway one is my favorite regardless
DARRYL, have to say i pick - Mk2 Acid Pool , MK-3 "Belltower pit"" an "Subway Platform"' , , an supremely arcade MK 1 ""The PIT"" , 🎉😂😮😮😮😂
Great choices Elf 👊🏼
Mode 7 from SNES especially the bone cracking sound 😮😮😮😮
True that bass in MK2 for SNES Pit 2 was very satisfying 👊🏼
Haha getting wrecked by blue Cinder is always brutal.
My first pit fatality experience was MK1 on SNES. I had no idea as I never seen it in the arcade. Just like you mentioned, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. And this was SNES, so I was surprised yet again doing the MK1 pit fatality in MKT on psx and seeing its real form with the bodies 😱 I thought that was a trilogy “extra” little did I know it was like that all along and I was fooled by SNES censorship 😂
Thanks for the comment, and I’m sorry your first pit experience was SNES lol what a letdown. However I’m glad your eyes were opened up to the great violent pit of the Arcade! 🔥
Arcade :)
Flawless victory! To arcade hahaa ❤ fave video now! :)
Thanks Aaron I appreciate it 👊🏼
Nice bad boy shirt. Are you also a fellow mma trainee?
Thanks, I bought this shirt WAY back probably 16-20 years now (holy hell that was a long time ago 😳), when Tito and Ken Shamrock had their trilogy. I used to train Muay Thai and Kempo Karate back then, but haven’t in years. Trained with Krav Maga Worldwide within the last few years however.
Sensei Ormerta, You're the best.
😂😂😂😂 f*** outta here lol 👊🏼
