    Hi Nana, this is Juliet. I wrote to you when you tought us how to make the pie shells.
    Today I just wanted to thank you for this one and tell you that my granmama would put the cans of condense milk on a pressure cooker for just one hour and when cold she would open both sides and push one side out so it would come out complete without scooping it out. I guess it made it easier all together. Hope it helps a little so you can continue to share with us your lovely and delish recetas..... Thank you :-)

    I'm so excited about this. I came for the pie crust and stayed for the banoffee pie. She's sprinkled the top with espresso coffee, but it is also sometimes sprinkled with toffee (Heath bar) pieces or chocolate shavings. Often made with a graham cracker crust, but I am a regular pie crust fan. I've been wanting to try this pie since "Love Actually" and now I can... Great two videos. I will continue watching.

    I used your pie crust recipe for chicken pot pie the other night, then I made a banoffee pie using Graham cracker crust but it wasn't my favorite. I used two smaller cans... You do make everything look easy. I will be using the pie crust from now on.

    Made this for Thanksgiving today (along with 16 other dishes, one of which was another pie...pumpkin, of course). It was VERY popular. I Love this method for making the caramel sauce.

    I love how at ease you are doing this I love banoffee pie I am from england, and it is a English pudding. It is very rich I can say that but definitely tastey. u did it spot on only thing that it's differs it's biscuit crumbs and butter as base but this is also a great way also. I think I will make this wen I'm over America. I'm sure they will love it ☺

    When cutting bananas I always use the peel as a cutting board. Looks amazing! I'll have to try this pie.

    I made this tonight while my wife was out. I might not tell her I made it... and eat the whole thing before she gets back. So good. (Also, very sweet. Don’t put sugar in the whipping cream like I did.)

    nice to see a cooking show with down to earth explanations and common sense directions. I've made Caramel pies that way for years with 3 cans of Eagle Brand milk and often wondered what else could be done to reduce the over powering richness, This banana whip cream is a real find. Thanks.

    Love your videos. Love 'em. Just a small hint when using that can opener. I have one just like it. I discovered I have better luck when I keep the can sitting on the counter while I open it. I stopped hating my can opener when I made that discovery.

    After successfully, and thankfully recreating your pie crust! I dared make this pie. It was delicious!!!!! Though it was the first time eating whipped cream with no sugar, it did pair well with this recipe as you recommended. I need to cook another can of Eagle Brand for next time!

    Thank you nana for the videos. I can't think of a better way to pass down your cooking knowledge than this. I never heard of banoffee pie before and never knew that the British had a dessert that uses the type of milk caramel that we call "dulce de leche" i am a culinary student originally from Uruguay and we use dulce de leche in many things as Americans would use peanut butter (an we put on on banana!).Just one thing though: NEVER COOK CLOSE CANS OF CONDENSED MILK IN THE OVEN, just a word of caution. i don't know what kind of success you or people you know have had, but where I come from this is considered a very dangerous technique since the pressure builds up in the cans and they tend to blow up. Cooking them in water in a pot is fine and safe as you already know. I was thinking what if you were to freezze a banana on a stick like at fairs then dip it in "runnier" dulce de leche, freezze it further, and then dip it in chocolate. You would have a layered frozen dulce de leche chocolate banana, Im gonna do it. You are very charming and unpretentious and remind me of both of my grandmas who are/were great cooks.

    I like how unpretentious and simple your recipes are. With all the 'you can do whatever you want' or 'this broke off, but that's ok' or 'this looks a little wonky, but we can fix that'. So much better than all the measured and pressured cooking shows where chefs seemed perpetually hovering at the knife edge. ^_^

    I made this last night along with your pie crust recipe. It was excellent. The first pie crust I couldn't resist adding flour to and it will be used as a baseball someday soon. Then I followed your instructions and it was perfect. Marie C. move over. Thanks for sharing. I do agree that a list of ingredients at the start would be GREAT( tried to get the recipe for phily sticky buns and couldn't get the list and could not catch the book). I told a little girl that is just starting to bake about your site and I am sure I will share it with more as I do like to share my baking. Thanks and Blessed day pat

    I love your recepies! You should give it a try to boil for a little bit longer the can (4-4 1/2 hours), you will get a more deep Brown and solid result, which we call in México "leche quemada", I've done this recepie like this and it's amazing also. Thank You!!

    thanks for sharing this video! (tip= you can cut the cooking time for the dulce de leche down to about an hour if you use a pressure cooker)

    I've used the canned dulce de leche many times now and it certainly is easier. I have found that I like to empty it into a bowl and stir it umaking it easier to spread on the baked crust. I've only found Nestle's so far but if I can get to a decicated hispanic market ,they'd probably have different brands.And of course I should have said it was dulce de leche.

    Awesome, finally a recipe using condensed milk boiled....I'm from Chile, And here we have manjar, Dulce de leche, I read that you already tasted it.... It's amazing. I hope you try some more, there's one much better than nestle dulce de leche... It is Dos Alamos manjar (dulce de leche), it's like home recipe, the best... Loved your videos!!

    Hola! I'm from Argentina. I love your videos and I hope there are more to come. I just wanted to say that the caramelized sauce that comes out of the can when you boil it is very similar to Dulce de leche, a sweet we eat here in Argentina, it'll be like the Argentinian peanut butter. If you have the chance to try it don't miss it. DDL and bananas are a great match, we even have an ice-cream flavor called "Banana split". :)

    Ha. I did that in my restaurant back in 1978. No pie crust though. . I would cut both ends using one end to shove the "cajeta" thru and slice it and serve with whipped cream (no sugar) and sometimes pineapple. Delish.
