Hope it’s going well for you it’s a continuous yet courageous journey 🙏🏼 there are so many books but getting to know yourself, journaling or sitting with yourself in silence I think gives more of an insight in really getting to know you:)
Hi Nina; Many topics come to mind as I'm listening to your video here. When you speak of a friend who's having a difficult time, there is a friend of mine who is going through a difficult time in her marriage. Her husband's changed drastically from the time they were married. She feels like the man she married is not the man who he is now. Their goals and values have changed. However, her only income the Social Security. So she doesn't have the money to even file for divorce. So she's hoping that eventually he'll move out. All I can do is listen to her, offer my thoughts, but ultimately it has to be her decision how she's going to continue on with her life. When you talk about long-term friendships, this reminds me of many of my high school classmates. Once my classmates found out who I support politically, they immediately stopped talking to me or being my friend at all. But I look at that as saying that they were never my friends in the first place. My brother and I have completely different views politically. However we get along very well, we just don't talk about politics. How to deal with a task that is challenging to you. The key for me is preparation and doing as much research, or studying as possible. As an example, when I was going through the 6 week initial airline flight attendant training, we had exams approximately every other day. This was a very fast moving 6 week training. The key was, not being distracted at all. Focusing on that day's tasks and topics. It was important for me to study alone most of the time. Most of the time, I found that studying with other people was distracting to me. One of the exams is an oral exam. We had to go on board a plane (that was not being used), and recite the evacuation drills. Evacuation drills are conducted to prepare us for any possible emergency on board a flight. The key to that was, practicing the evacuation drills over and over again. In that situation, it was helpful to study with other people. So, when the time came for me to recite the evacuation drills, I was ready. When you talk about figuring out your path, I'm thinking what happened to me after I got hurt on the job in 2014. In 2014 I suffered an on-the-job injury that ultimately ended my Airline career. After that point, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with my life. But I've always enjoyed teaching. So I decided to create a course on how to work as an airline flight attendant. It's a 17 lesson course. So I enjoyed doing that. This has helped many prospective Airline flight attendants begin their careers. Now, I'm also using my experiences and interests to create other courses on different topics of Interest. The point is, it's important to me to always have something to work on. Hope you have a good day! Brian
Hi Nina! I'm struggling with finding out who I really am. I felt it was always easier for me to copy/inspire myself from others. Do you know any books that could help me in my search of finding myself? 😅
