    Lyrics
    No one knows permanence quite like you // There's a ruthlessness in all that you do // This is not about what we deserve // There's no bias in the misery served // C.A.N.C.E.R // So watch the sun sink into the sea // There is a perfect peace but don't wait up for me // When we all fade away // And this world can't bare another day // There will be no fight in broken bliss // I feel it now more than ever // A reaper's watch // My life ready to sever // Your name carries more than disease // A symbol of man brought to his knees // Find a little light and hold it close // Don't lose sight of what matters most // This is a burden we all carry together // Waiting in the wings, so we never say never.

    it is purely amazing how many people came here after Tom's passing. Architects is one of the few bands that feel like a family instead of a fanbase. Rest in Peace, Tom Searle.

      I'm blown away and so emotional. We all knew why this song was written. And the fact that everyone came here right after the news really just show how much of a family we are rather than just fans. he'll be missed.

    Im heart broken but more than that, Im fucking angry. My loving and also amazing grandmother was also taken away from my family way way too soon at only 51. Cancer is pure poison and it destroys so many lives.
    Tom, you wont ever be forgotten. You left way to soon. Your music will live forever in the fans hearts and the all the lives you touched. Im lucky to have seen Architects live and met you 2 years ago and it was one of the most amazing nights of my life. You were one of the first metalcore bands to ever come to Portugal and I will cherish that day and concert for the rest of my days.
    I know you didnt believe in Heaven, and I dont think I do either but if there is one Im sure you are there. If there isnt one, I just hope you are at peace.

    This song was already personal for me. Lost my grandmother to lung cancer. My mother defeated brain cancer. Then this with Tom. I wasn't even aware.. . I already used to scream C.A.N.C.E.R with them. Now I just scream it. I begin to cry... I hate all this pain and death. I haven't had a rock stars death Affect me this bad all the way since Kurt Cobain when I was a kid. That changed my life. 22 yrs... Tom Searle. That's how much I love this band. Respect those guys. Love you guys.

    RIP to the legend that was Tom Searle. For some reason, the best people on earth are usually the first ones being taken away from us. You've left behind a legacy and a discography that makes any of us proud to be Architects's fans. Gone but will never be forgotten. Thank you for everything. This is not a goodbye, It's nothing but a "Till we meet Again".

    My dad died from cancer on 7th of march, he struggled this sickness for more than 10 years.
    8th of march was funeral and lots of people came to say bye for him. I was not crying or being depressed, cause i needed to handle troubles and just to be a man who can help my relatives, but inside i am totally destroyed, every day when im on my way somewhere i want to call my dad and talk with him, but i can't.
    I am studying extreme vocals my self, and i want to make cover of this song, it will be a tribute to my dad and Tom.
    Guys i wish you all good luck, hope you'll never collide with this fucking sickness.
    Take care and spend more time with your parents and people you love.

    :') *Architects* never fail to amaze me...
    To some this is just some mindless screaming and noise, they don't even pay attention to the lyrics. To me, this mix of heavy (and awesome!) vocals and instrumentals with astounding lyrics is what makes this song a musical masterpiece.

    There is a perfect peace, but don't wait up for me.
    And when we all fade away,

    There will be no fight in broken bliss.
    Respected will we be at the end of this.
    I feel it now more than ever.
    A reaper's watch. My life is ready to sever.

    I am shell shocked by the news of Tom's death. I only got the chance to see them once in 2014, and I am eternally grateful for that experience. Few artists have had as profound an impact on my life as much as these guys have. Their music helped me through my very darkest of days, truly. It kept me pushing on when I felt I had nothing left to give. One day, we will all reach the end of the path. Until then, if you find yourself caught between the devil and deep blue sea, then stand, and fucking fight for what you believe. We love you Tom, you will never be forgotten.

    another battle lost and another one won by this fucking discusting thing we call cancer...
    i have an old conflict with cancer myshelf and most importantly a huge unger and hate torwards the whole situation (the pain, the agony, the sadness...)
    It took me away a great and beloved friend ... I went through lots of emotional break down, not just understading what is the song really is about but actually feel it through experience it was both devastating and helpfull listening to architects at the time.
    it took away yet again a great and important person to all of us.
    For metal it was an even bigger loss...
    THIS FUCKING YEAR SUCKS BALLS MAN !
    I hope cancer get cancer, then DIE !
    RIP TOM, we gonna miss you and one day I, no WE gonna pass your legacy to next generations :/ :'(
    best wishes to family and friends ...

    The odd thing is, when tom was alive, everybody was like, ok yeah tom is an awesome and friendly guitarist, his riffs are great, but all of the sudden, he past away, everybody was supporting eachother, this shows how unexpected death is, tell your friends and family you love them, it could be your last.. r.i.p. Tom

    I admit openly that my friends in ETID (we toured with them back during their debut and stayed in touch, showing each other new cool bands like Shai Hulud, Poison The Well, CurlUpandDie, Converge, etc) and I never was so blown away as I was when I first heard this song's atmoshperic and synth filled break with reverb filled choir backups @ 1:59 and holy mother of god....then "ALL OUR GODS" LP came out and I was hooked for life.

Massive blow for music, stay strong guys - looking forward to seeing you in November, it will be an emotional one. Thank you Tom.

    The easiest way to troll is to call some band "djent"
    People will just swarm in calling you a dumbass and pouring all of their effort in proving that the band isn't actually djent
    As if it mattered

    • @GrimReefer
      @GrimReefer 10 лет назад +6

      Djent isnt a genre, its a sound.

    • @MetaLeir93
      @MetaLeir93 10 лет назад +43

      See? lol
      Can't see how any of that matters

    • @GrimReefer
      @GrimReefer 10 лет назад +4

      ***** because djent isn't a classification to describe what category a band is labeled as. It would be like saying Pantera is in the genre Pinch Harmonic

    • @grievous56
      @grievous56 10 лет назад +7

      ***** Or maybe Pantera plays the music genre of scooped mids.
